larride: I still believe Fashola will be his Chief of Staff
It’s still very possible but it seems Gbajabiamila has the inside track for now. I can’t imagine the level of politicking and manoeuvring that’s taking place now.
larride: You still haven’t told us how many PK Brighton keeper save today.
Wetin concern us with Brighton keeper? 😄
For all we know he might be good in penalties and had a bad day today. But either way he is not our problem.
DDG that is our keeper should be our focus. It’s like someone saying criticising Weghorst for not taking chances and you say how many goals did Welbeck score.
DDG is our problem and he has a long history of. doing nothing at shootouts, and today was just another example.
larride: DDG is horrible with PK we know that but in today match, he was easily our best player and kept us in the game to even be able to get us to PK. The other keeper also didn’t also save a single PK out of 7.
Today is not the day to push a DDG agenda
It is not an agenda if it is fact and if it is likely to reoccur.
That the guy is terrible in penalty shootouts is not an agenda.
People want to see evidence that he is improving in his weak points.
And I think AWB was our best player today actually. That Mitoma he kept quiet no be soft meat. He has been disgracing RBs up and down the league all season.
CapitalCee: We were offered 20 year old Casceido for 4m Euros last year. We refused to buy. We went ahead and bought 30 year Casemero for 60m pounds. This club and rubish na 5 and 6.
We were offered Caicedo 2 years ago not last year.
If we had said no to Casemiro too last year we would have neither Casemiro nor Caicedo now.
BlueRayDick: I don’t see the need to hack anything . ill health associated with old age has a way of catching up with people .Nature can’t be cheated
I mean before the election. Some of that age, name, drug lord energy should have been applied to the health issue. Get some medical reports out there and stuff like that.
Just my thinking that there was more potential ammo along that line.
BlueRayDick: I don’t believe Tinubu is as old as 86 years old ; I believe Tee Mac was exaggerating when he said 86. He probably thought Tinubu was way older than him when his cousin Remi was dating Bola.
The thing is if my cousin sister is dating someone older than me, I will know but I may not know exactly how much older than me he will be (since he won’t be showing me his birth certificate to confirm his age ).
I also do not see the need for any rancour about his age . I’ve always been more critical about his health status . His age didn’t affect his performance as a governor ; it’s his I’ll health in recent times that is of more concern . Of a truth , I’ve seen 70 years old men with ill health worse than Tinubu .
I think people are only milking the age angle because of how most things about his background before traveling to the USA has been shrouded in secrecy
If his current DOB is not different from the one he submitted in 1999 and in 1992 then i don't think there is any sinister plot from his camp to be younger than he really is. It just might be that he does not know his real DOB which was not unusual in those days especially with people from humble homes.
I am in total agreement about the health issue. I feel his opponents would have gotten more ammunition if they had focused more of their investigative and hacking resources in that direction.
monerozi5590: That's the point. Aisha didn't say all people in Benin are into child trafficking. But she was criticised.
Tinubu didn't say all Benin youths are into yahoo but he was criticised sir.
What is wrong in northerners returning the favour.?
If others can be criticised, why can't Obi be criticised?
Firstly, 3 wrongs do not make a right. That the others were criticised does not mean the trend should continue.
Secondly, you were inferring that Obi said all Northern children are poor. You are wrong he didn’t say that.
Finally, I have said that it was unwise for Obi to say it the way he did. Somebody in his camp should have realised the potentially incendiary nature of the statement.
He wasn’t wrong, just unwise. What is the point of potentially alienating the bulk of the people you want to vote for you in a region. The aim should be to get elected first, then you can start fighting poverty as much as you want.
Even when he visited the Shehu of Borno Palace and was shouting poverty poverty. The Shehu of Borno told him ""our biggest problem is insecurity, job creation and all "
I was looking for the place where he said all the children of the North were poor like you said but I didn’t see it.
monerozi5590: I pray something is done about this almajiri system of education. If you can't provide for your children in far distance places to learn, send them to almajiri school that is close to you.
It should be modernize. Is not FG problem.
All Northern Governors should modernize it. They know what to do.
Northern Kingdom stretches far to Niger, Cameroon Chad etc. They are like brothers. They have been brothers pre- colonial times before the colonial masters draw the line but they are still brothers.
Some of those children are from those countries. Their parents send them to learn in Nigeria.
You have already stated why such modernisation would not work. The British borders are meaningless in the eyes of many core Northerners. Their loyalties are ethnic rather than nationalistic, which is the same across the South, just that our tribes don’t spread across huge swathes of foreign land.
As a presidential candidate, knowing the lay of the land and how people can distort such statements, Obi should have just made a general statement about tackling Nigerian poverty rather than singling out the North.
Now a statement that should have been lauded by all is being mischaracterised and psychoanalysed by his detractors.
Most Nigerians abroad when they hear other people rubbishing Nigeria/Africa feel defensive about it to an extent, and even if we don’t push back we try to correct a few misconceptions.
He definitely was not wrong, but he just wasn’t wise.
kokaneprodigy: You scums bottled Europa and this place still contained us, nothing will change if we bottle as well because What is good for the geese is good for the gander.
The guy has neither the physical courage nor the mentality and that 350k weekly salary just sealed it for him. He is our 3rd choice LW at this time and on such wages. Bruh!
CapitalCee: Few of us who wanted DDG to go since like 4 years ago were called Haters. No problem let ETH renew his contract, there is no way we will win any reasonable thing with DDG in post, if you like sign all the world class players as you like
People can't understand the level of panic a shaky shaky keeper spreads through a team. Now we have a shaky shaky keeper and 2 shaky shaky central defenders. Our goose is cooked.
Mediocre in the air. Mediocre coming out of the box. Mediocre with his feet. Medicore with communication. Mediocre with organization.
Like you guys ain't see it coming. Thread was dry like cemetary 24hrs to the game. My Successor couldn't post any updates nor lineup coz its so clear to everyone - that we will be cooked.
Maguire and Lindelof at back and you guys really expected miracle to happen? I ain't pain at all, jez want us to finish in top 4 and hopefully win one more trophy.
All I care about is; sell the damn club to qataris before end of season, so they can help with mass clearout of Dundees like Maguire, Lindelof, AWB, Telles, Jones, Fred, McTom, Sancho, Martial, DDG and bring in solid replacements.
The Glazers are not selling. They are just whining everybody. What they want is a maga that will invest big money while they keep control.
I expected us to be flogged and it happened. People underestimate the kind of panic a weak defence spreads throughout a team. Maguire is the original chaos causer, and e get reason why last week I predicted that our season is about to crumble.
Meanwhile I hope the DDG fanatics can see their life outside now. We can’t move forward with him as GK.
BlueRayDick: I guess that's why they call him Maradona. U no fit know him mind
The guy was next level in terms of understanding human nature and using it to achieve his aims. He had a long run in and around power. Fortunately, all runs have to come to an end.
BlueRayDick: Most of those news na inside newspapers and Tell Magazine person dey read am that time; the internet was not a thing back then.
Yes, Obasanjo had big balls; maybe cos he was an ex-military himself sha
He had the backing of most of the top generals and recently retired generals. In addition his intimate knowledge of multiple coups in the past would have come in handy.
I am almost certain that IBB was the first person to mention a possible OBJ presidency. After OBJ was released and everybody was trooping to Otta to congratulate him, IBB was the first person to suggest that with the situation in the country we needed someone like OBJ to bring people together.
When IBB first said it it was meant with surprise and almost derision, because no one thought of OBJ in that way pre-1999. Quietly however it gained traction, until he became an overwhelming favourite.
