Akwa-Ibom PDP Gubernatorial candidate wants to subsidize beer consumption in the state.

Happy hour between 5pm and 6pm. Paid for by the state government.

Very interesting.

He should be the one to remove it himself after having all the available facts on ground. Not Buhari removing it on the day hes handing over. It makes no sense whatsoever.
Someone is making such a significant and far reaching decision on the day he leaves office and people see nothing wrong with it?

Why not allow Tinubu to assess things himself and then implement the subsidy removal in an organised manner. One thing we know is that Buhari will implement it in the same chaotic fashion he banned the usage of old notes.

Well, maybe not everybody know cultists but most students who are conscious of their environment do.

When I was in school I knew the number 1 of two different cult groups not personally but from afar. I know where to pass and where not pass; how to avoid them and all. Cultists no really dey hide am like that except the very intelligent ones among them who still have their CGPA to protect .
Most times the cultists that run for office are not the top dogs but cult affiliates, so the school and even the general student body might not know or know for sure.

If you are close to the situation you might know while the rest of the school will just be feeding off vague rumours.

Baba, I respectfully disagree. We are not going to make subjective interpretations to excuse an obvious attempt to pull the Igbo's into his selfish interest, I mean this has become normal. The idiot has been a member of the State HOR since 2015 and not one time did we hear about his mother, worth more the woman being Igbo, so what changed? This isn't about being dull or any other issues he may have but an intentional act that he has observed is the new norm.

This nonsense needs to be called out and stopped. Igbos did not remind Elliot or anyone for that matter that his mother is Igbo or needed that narrative to gain votes from Lagosians. If his mother were Itsekiri would he feel the need to remind us of that now? As an Igbo man, I will never deny his mother, she is always going to be a beloved Igbo Queen in our eyes and hearts but Elliot and other politicians need to stop with this nonsense.

Enough is enough!
You are not getting my point. I don’t think most politicians will say it the way Desmond Elliot said it, at least not at this point when tension is heightened. I don’t think even GRV said it like that and things have changed a lot since his campaign got underway.

Elliot’s history shows that he has always had a severe case of inability to read the room. I am not saying you shouldn’t call him out, but let him answer his charges himself and not rope under politicians into it.

They should just stop using Igbos as narratives/ talking points for their selfish electoral interests. These politicians are not admonished by the host tribe(s) for continuously using Igbos as election narratives rather you would read and see senseless posts online heaping the blame on Igbos, rather than the idiots who are choosing to use Igbos as narratives.

Go out and campaign to Lagosians who are eligible voters, please leave Igbos out of the narrative. There are Igbos who have loyalty across the 3 major political parties. When stuff hits the roof, it is still the same Igbo people that would bear the brunt even though they did not ask you to use them as narratives!

I am done with this nonsense.
This is not about politicians or being Igbo. Elliot’s case is just because of desperation and lack of intelligence. He comes across as someone who is quite dull, at least socially.

the obj years were the best years. after that there was a steady decline

that is why i will say objs biggest mistake, the one that set us on this path - was picking atiku as his vp

obj had his faults but the man was on a mission to fix nigeria

atiku was supposed to succeed him - but i think it is obvious to everyone that atiku is a self serving prick whose only concern is about his rise to power.

atiku was supposed to consolidate on whatever obj had done. but when it became clear atiku was simply trying to run place coup - obj fked him over and started looking for how to ensue his policies lived on

option1 - 3rd term

that failed

option2 get the most malleable mumus he could find and remote control them from ota. big mistake as yardua reversed so many things, then died and we got gej - who accelerated the decline. then buhari who knows fk all about business and pushes for the most unweildy parts of a socilaist govt

so here we are

maybe just maybe - if obj had picked some other fellow as VP - we would be in a different timeline now one where the prosperity of the early 2000s had been consolidated, one where the injection transformers were not left to rot in our ports, one where nuhu ribadu had stayed on and ensured efcc was a serious organization.
I don’t think OBJ had much option when it came to choosing his VP. Remember that back then OBJ was an ex-convict with not much of a power base while Atiku had the power of the almighty PDM behind him.

PDM support was needed in order to assure OBJ’s victory over Ekwueme in the primaries and also in order prosecute a successful election in the North, and Atiku had to be compensated as well for not getting the presidency which he himself was eyeing.

And such a woman that wants to go this path of celibacy, what are the things you would say to her?

I will say UNILAG still dey try to put higher price on their own, but OSU can take anyone from Bank MD to Okada riders

This was in my time o. I dunno if UNILAG changed too
You are right. It was the politicians and other money bags that priced UNILAG girls out of market that time. Boys then moved on to more accessible markets in OSU.

That time the OG girls were mostly in Moremi Hall while the upcoming girls dey New Hall. At night you will just see an endless line of luxurious cars stopping to pick up girls dressed in the most expensive and flashiest outfits possible. Senators, House of Reps members, LGA chairmen, top bank executives.

OSU took it industrial to the point where boys started leaving Lagos for thr hinterland to go and collect the püssy at the source.

A friend of mine went to do that shït and ended up getting robbed and beaten up by some cult boys out there.

I'm a couple sets below you, but back then I think Babcock were like the premium private uni, so all their girls seemed to be rich, although na packaging las las.
That was standard back then. I even knew a guy whose links were solid in OSU. Once boys were ready everybody will pack into car, sometimes 2or 3 cars sef and head to OSU and this bad boy would connect every single guy with a babe for the weekend.

I think you are right about Babcock. They were the first private Uni to enter the game before dem Covenant and co.

His last name is Rhodes-Vivour

There is a space for first and middle names

If the education certificate he claimed had both Gbadebo and Patrick as first and middle names then he is good

Another way out is if he did not use the MIT Masters cert as part of his INEC credentials

Now going to INEC website he solved this issue in 2 ways. One, He did not put his MIT Masters on the list of certifications, he stopped at Bachelors.

Two, he made Patrick his middle name

So there is no case here regarding the name and certificate
Case closed. I don't expect any serious Nigerian politician to still be having name discrepancy issue with certificates , not with all the previous cases.

I agree with this view. It all depends on what certificates he submitted to INEC along with his nomination form; If he's foolish enough to submit certificates with different names along with his INEC nomination form, then he's a jonzing guy. That means he's not smart and didn't learn from the Bayelsa governorship case.
Exactly. If all his INEC papers have the same name then he is clear, and anybody who is unhappy can take up the Patrick issue with MIT. If, however he submitted both Patrick and Gbadebo to INEC then he is on a slippery slope.

If he submitted both WAEC (Gbadebo) and MIT (Patrick) certificates then he might be sitting on a long thing, but if he submitted only the WAEC certificate bearing Gbadebo then he is good to go.

I think he submitted only WAEC certificate so he should be fine, unless someone has more information on that.
