Ellexy: Cristiano Ronaldo does not feel involved in the Erik ten Hag project at #mufc anymore and the absence of #UCL football has also increased chances of him departing. Jorge Mendes is already looking for a new club for him. [@repubblica via @_GIFN]
So it begins. Let us do a straight swap. Lewandowski for C.Ronaldo. Both want to leave their present clubs and there are not many good strikers in the transfer market. |

MRTA7: Yes, Bissouma has a similar case to Greenwood pending police investigation so we couldnt really go near him. I'm sure Spurs know the risk and have mitigated it. Yeah. Spurs just got a good player on the cheap. Next season go rugged. Teams like Villa and Newcastle will be tough not to talk of the usual suspects. |

ChristoBam: Actually glad we didn't complete the deals on Ole list cuz it included Longstaff. We'd still be looking for hidden potentials in him. Of course but that is not the point. The excuse people were giving then was that there was no list and that was why we were slow in buying players. Now that same excuse has been reworked for a different manager. Now the report is he is yet to complete his assessment, meaning he has not yet submitted his list. Another manager with no list entering the transfer window. Man Utd are so unfortunate to have successive managers who are slow in submitting lists. |

patrickmuf: I believe it's FDJ he wants regardless of other players in the market...I might be wrong though but then, FDJ is perfect for the kind of football he plays... Other targets IN OTHER POSITIONS. At this pace when will we buy the other players needed. Or is it that ETH has still not submitted a list, just like Ole? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 11:49am On Jun 14, 2022 |
patrickmuf: Someone clearly explained here that FDJ is at his boyhood club, one that is in the UCL and with a better chance to win trophies compared to ours hence the difficulty is convincing him to join us thereby opting for UEL football...Also,there's a case of agreeing a deal with Barcelona who rightly see him as one of their prized assets (They got him for £65m)...It is always going to take time. And other targets? Are we going to be doing 1 target every 1-2 months? Timber too is at his boyhood club. Will that one also take another 2 months to complete? We are seeing what we have seen for the last decade before ETH became manager and you guys are placing the blame on ETH already. Do you remember the debate here a few years ago when people claimed Ole did not make a transfer list and this was why we were slow in the window? We are just seeing a variant of it. That time it was Ole that did not make his list on time, this time it is ETH that has not completed his assessment on time. People then even said Ole's list was a 1 man list of Sancho, and now you guys seem to be suggesting that ETH's list is a 1 man list of de Jong. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 11:33am On Jun 14, 2022 |
patrickmuf: But you claimed that the board only spends when we fail to make the UCL and when a new coach arrives...What has changed? Wanting to spend money and efficiency of negotiations are 2 different things. I am talking about their speed (or lack of it) in negotiations, and their lack of expertise. We will drag and drag and drag like happened with AWB, Sancho, Maguire and still end up paying what the other club wanted. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 11:21am On Jun 14, 2022 |
MRTA7: I think if you look at the club's recent history with transfers, it seems quite consistent with what is happening now. So its hard to say this is happening because its what ETH wants. ETH made us chase Sancho for 2 years before completing the deal. Or 2-3 years ago during the Ole list or no list debate it was ETH that did not assess the players on time. And 4-5 years ago when JM was lamenting like an end time prophet about the slow pace of transfers ETH was the one that refused to complete assessment on time. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 11:18am On Jun 14, 2022 |
patrickmuf: It was reported that ETH wants to assess the players in our books before making a decision on their future...The future of most of our current players depends on his assessment which in turn affects our transfer activity...Or you think not? Whatever means he wants to use to assess the players is not really my business...
It was also reported that we have submitted an offer for FDJ...I don't think we made a bid for Nunez, I think we enquired and it was clear he wanted a team in the UCL, as for Timber, nothing concrete...One can understand easily that FDJ was requested by ETH to replace Pogba and the Nunez enquiry was necessary as we didn't know if Ronaldo will stay or leave. Timber? Nothing concrete for now...
You believe that we are making moves based on REPORTS even when only that of FDJ has been followed up with a bid but you don't want to believe the other REPORTS where ETH was quoted as saying he needs to assess the players first before making a decision on whether or not he'll work with them...
If you don't think that is enough reasons for us to be moving slowly, I can only say I respect your opinion... The same can be said for you. You chose to believe one set of reports but chose to ignore the other set. Even when Fabrizio Romano and other tier one transfer journalists said we have been in talks with Timber for instance you are saying nothing concrete. To each his own but i don't like the assessment lamba that people have been peddling. The excuse is already laid out. If we don't buy players on time it is because ETH did not submit list. Because ETH was here when we chased Sancho for over 2 years. The Glazers should be called the Otumba Lamba family. Their propaganda game is real strong. |

Leyqute: Lol.
I don’t know what’s there to assess again.
Players he went to watch their last performance lojukoroju at Selhurst Park o.
Pep sanctioned John Stones like months before he was officially announced as coach.
Assess FC I am actually interested in this assessment issue. Will he wait until they start training at the end of the month before he assesses them thereby wasting 1 month of the transfer window? Or will he wait to see how they perform in pre-season games in July, thereby wasting 6 weeks of the window. Maybe he won't buy anybody at all this window and wants to assess them during the EPL season and then submit his list in January for the winter transfer window. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 10:54am On Jun 14, 2022 |
patrickmuf: All what we know is based on reports we read as none of us work at Old Trafford. I am only responding based on what is reported by the press and shared here... So you have no idea but hazarding a guess. Can you make this to make sense: 1) The club has not bought any players because they are waiting for ETH to finish his assessment. 2) But the club has been negotiating for at least 3 players (FDJ, Timber, Nunez) for at least 1 month now. These 2 statements can't both be true. It is either the club is not active cos they are waiting for ETH to complete his assessment OR they are negotiating for these players. And this assessment, is it in pre-season, friendlies, or competitive games? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 10:44am On Jun 14, 2022 |
patrickmuf: Doc you no dey see the reports wey them dey drop here?
There's even a quote from ETH where he said he believes our players are better than our position on the table reflects...
Apart from De Jong who seem like a move okayed by ETH as a replacement for Pogba, we have been quiet...
With the way ETH and his management stood their ground during contract negotiations, I'd be surprised if he isn't the one making footballing decisions as far as the first team is concerned... We spent 1 month negotiating with Benfica for Darwin Nunez before he went to Liverpool. Was this BEFORE or AFTER ETH assessed the players. We have been linked to Timber for over a month now. Was this BEFORE or AFTER assessment? We have been linked to Antony according to reports as well. Was this BEFORE or AFTER assessment? If you are saying we have not made any transfer moves because he is yet to assess the players how come we have been in negotiations for a number of players already? And you haven't answered the main question. This assessment, is it going to be in training, or preseason, or competitive matches? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 10:22am On Jun 14, 2022 |
patrickmuf : It's been reported that the coach wants to assess the players before taking any decision on who stays or go... For now, we can conclude that our slow activity in the market is down to ETH since he hasn't had time to assess the players. The one player he has asked, work is in progress to get him abi una want make we throw money around then later una go turn back blame the board for being incompetent...We are not in the UCL, it will take more time for us to convince players to join or alternatively, we have to pay more which is a NO for most of us here...Assess the players during training or during preseason games or during competitive games? Which one? And who reported this? And what is the veracity of this report? |
