Giving Sancho extra time off when he played next to nothing at the Euros is ridiculous, especially when the club knew Rashford was going to be out and Martial was likely to be unfit after his long layoff.

Then the Varane situation is another comedy series on its own. How long does it take to sign a contract?

If we rush him and he gets injured for 4-6 weeks it would be worse. There is a reason why players have 2-3 weeks preseason.

I prefer to start a fit player over an unfit one. Rushing a player into action is a formula for long term injury.

I am not saying the gap is huge. With Varane and Sancho we tried closing it only for them to add Grealish and possibly Kane.

However if there squad is even only slightly better but their manager is way better I don’t see us winning the league.

Our only hope is miraculous seasons from 2-3 of our players and injury crises for them.

Chelshit will also be in the mix cos they have a balanced squad and a really good manager.

I don’t expect Liverpool to challenge cos I believe that squad is worn out.

Not having quality back ups at DM and CB is significant. Also City have about 5-6 forwards of similar quality.

Remove Mata who is overage and has been finished for a while.

Remove Garner who is going on loan and won’t be available

Remove all our teenagers who are untested apart from Greenwood. You want to go into the season depending on 17 and 18yr olds?

We hype our Academy products because we see them regularly but remember that when we were hyping Gomes and Chong Man City had Sancho and Foden.

There are Academy products at City who are as good and probably even more ready than ours who won’t smell first team there this season because City has enough QUALITY senior players.

We can’t match Man City. When it comes to winning the league it’s not just about the first 11.

By the time you get to our 2nd and 3rd choice in most positions you notice a big drop off that City does not have.

You are missing the point.

Last season DDG should have been benched totally for Henderson and not any role sharing arrangement.

And even if there was role sharing the manager should have had the good sense to take DDG out before the penalty kicks.

To answer your question I would be comfortable with Henderson starting all games and DDG rotating the bench with Heaton.
If they had done this all through last season he would have found himself a club by now and we would have found out how good Henderson is also.

They should stop sharing duties and bench him completely. It seems there is nobody with any backbone in the coaching staff or the board. They keep kicking the can down the road rather than take decisive action.

But your evenly splitting of a thing on DDG i doubt or may be their voice were more vociferous.
It was clear to the unbaised that DDGs position needed serious review, but whenever one mentions it it is followed by echoes of voices reminding us of how he saved us for "free" even though his salary is extortionate.

DdG was costing the team 10s of points on season bases, Pogba was harrasing everyone with his agent, the manager making season defining errors whenever a result is needed, yet the fans keep making excuses, while other clubs even Leicester and Arsenal keep hovering trophies. I go online and see fans celebrating the signing of Varane and Sancho as if its a trophy even when they have not kicked a ball. Very pathetic.

At this rate Man United is teetering towards Arsenal in the midtable and the goals will being lowered.

I can drop multiple posts from me and others asking that we move on from DDG. Most times when I state my position I don’t keep on repeating it just because.

DDG lost form 3 yrs ago and the club decided to pay him record wages when he was off form. THAT was where the initial mistake was made.

His manager froze on the day of the final and not replacing DDG before the shootout was only one out of several mistakes he made that day.

Your recollection is wrong. There were several people here who were of the same opinion as you. The receipts are there. It was at least evenly split if not more against DDG.

And this is not me being reactionary. There is nothing that DDG did in that Europa final that shocked me. Actually I am yet to watch the shootout because I was a 100% sure that with DDG in goal we stood very little chance.
