Finally i never said Lindelof was not good or not improving. I just said he would never be the level of defender Vidić was, especially in the air.

Lindelof isn’t the same player he was 2 years ago. He’s improved and he does sometimes display that toughness required to be a top top defender. He just needs to work on his weaknesses.

Lindelof doesn’t have to be as tall as Ferdinand to be strong in the air. Vidic is shorter and has a stronger aerial presence.

Lindelof is 25. We are not talking about a teenager. He will never be as good in the air as Vidic or even Ferdinand.
He can work on decision making, reading the game etc but will always be relatively weak in the air. There are some things that you either have or you don’t.
His game is not ideally suited for EPL football. Same problem Christensen at Chelshit is having.

Communication seems to be poor with him. Both games against Arsenal, he couldn't keep offside trap with the rest of defence.

Against Watford, early on he should have communicated better with Matic to leave the ball. Thank God Shaw also wasn't having a brain fart along with them.

These are some of the ones i can remember that led to direct goal scoring chances for the other team.


He needs to improve his game if he'll ever reach Ferdinand/Vidic levels.

He is NEVER reaching those levels. What we need is just significant all around improvement from the defenders.
He drops deep and destroys offside lines because of his lack of pace and fear of catching a sprinting forward.

He has a bit of Pogba in him in which he holds on to the ball for too long looking for a Hollywood pass when a simple pass would have done the job.
Positive is that he is good in the air and at least tries to take charge of things at the back. Also a decent passer although he overdoes it sometimes.

I am not convinced about Grealish. He always plays from the left rather than as a CAM, and he holds on to the ball/dribbles too much rather than passing the ball quickly.

Doucoure as a sub would not be a bad idea. A loan deal for the youth team midfielders next year might be necessary.

When you're faced with a man that is not scared of your knockout power you just have to come up with another strategy. I mean we all laughed it off when Fury said he was going to put Wilder out in the 2nd round

However even if casuals like us laugh it off Wilder and his camp should have prepared for that eventuality. I mean by the time the fight started I was like ohh shyte Fury was not joking around. And if you think about it it made sense because Fury must have felt he didn't want this fight in the hands of the judges again and risk getting robbed.
