codedguy1: Haa doc! Mctom has had a year of being in the first team and he played quite a number of games.
Are you suggesting Garner will be at par as per performance with Mctoms in that holding role?
Mctom has shown promise and it might take some time for Garner to have a grasp of things when given the chance.
Potential not present ability. These are players I have watched for a number of years in the youth set up. When it comes to dictating play and passing Garner is McTom’s oga. McTom however is bigger, stronger, older, more experienced, and very importantly more hard working.
iamharkinwaley: So what about this guy ? James Garner, I read he's a midfielder, how good is he
Garner has much better potential than McTom in the holding role. The switch of play that McTom just started showing this preseason has been bread and butter to Garner for the last 2 years.
3coins: Nope responsibilities do not destroy a player rather it makes him better.... I believe those players you mentioned were simply NOT GOOD ENOUGH....Mbappe was the Go to guy a Monaco and he thrived because he was good enough
Every player is different. The pressure at Monaco is not the same as the pressure at Manchester United. And in case you didn’t know Mbappe is not special he is EXTRA SPECIAL. None of these guys has his ability. Maybe some of those guys were not good enough like you said but United has a recurring history of exciting players with potential fizzling out. They couldn’t all have been bad.
Lastly, injury respects no one. Not even Messi’s career would have been the same with catastrophic injury
Ravioli: Una can complain. Other clubs entrust 17-18 years to lead their lines and teams and they succeed. But when it comes to UTD you guys scream to the highest level. TBF, I prefer Greenwood starting as our striker than Trashford. But at the end of the day, there is this possibility that Martial, Rashford will deliver and make us eat our words. We shouldn't underrate our own all the time. Benfica gave Felix the opportunity he became hot cake, De Jong, De Ligt, Mbappe et al. They all delivered and big clubs came for them. I know Greenwood will do good for us. Lets allow the manager do what he wants until he disappoints, then we can roast all we can. It's a rebuilding process and he tends to favour players who are willing to play for the badge.
I am not sure you would find a bigger Greenwood fan here than me, but one has to be cautious not to place too much pressure on the guy.
When one thinks of the injuries and off the field issues that derailed Whiteside, Ravel, Will Keane, Adnan, James Wilson e.t.c then it is understandable to temper expectations.
The best thing that could happen to Greenwood is for Rashford and Martial to have explosive seasons so that he is part of a group rather than the go to guy for all our attacks. I believe this is what destroyed whatever potential Adnan had.
Make una no use hype kill my boy. I wanted him to quietly slide into the general EPL DMs but now that Ed has refused to strengthen the forward line Mason will be forced into serious action maybe 6-12 months too early.
Chrisus: Hmmm maybe you're right, but Mandzukic as a replacement just ain't it. Mandzukic is no Ibra
Oh, definitely. I don't understand the move for Mandzukic. He was never a goal machine even in his prime and he has lost most of whatever little pace he had. He has decent link up play and is good in the air, but that is about it.
Chrisus: Something they could have worked with Lukaku to improve. Ole didn't even give Him chances to prove himself. This thing weak Me
Let's be honest, a 26yr old pro footballer who has been playing organized football since age 10 won't suddenly develop a good first touch. It is what it is. Lukaku is likely to thrive in the slower Serie A where his mediocre first touch won't be such an issue, but no amount of work will significantly improve that first touch at this age.
tenmariner: It is not about wishing united bad luck. Truth is EPL has evolved into strengthen your team, win big and vice versa. U cannot plant locust bean and harvest cocoyam!
See as Ed make this guy dey quote Majek Fashek. LMAO
nihilistjnr: I play left back, right back, and ball boy.
Announce me nigga
Your club needs a no 9 and also needs a new dancer to replace the one you guys just sold to Madrid. Lets see you do it for your club for 1 or 2 seasons, then we may come for you.
GloryIsaac: It's business, both clubs (Juve and City) are only reinforcing an already strong team and their fans are not on all the Social Media pages crying for new players which makes it easier to do business.
With much pressure to reinforce, clubs look to make as much money as possible from United because they know the club needs that player, not want. City are not under any pressure to reinforce, so the deals are sensible. It's a simple case of demand and supply, higher demand means higher price as long as supply is constant.
Not to mention the players themselves and the contract situation like in the case of Dybala.

This would have been more believable if Ed had any history at all of sensible transfer deals. All he has on his CV is a litany of transfer mishaps. The more logical explanation is that the man(with his minions) is clueless when it comes to transfers.
GloryIsaac: Lmao.. i really wanted someone to assist Pogba and McTominay in that midfield, now i have to rewatch Fred's YouTube highlights of his time at Shakhtar to have hope in him.
Hahaha After that please watch Matic’s Benfica videos.
I really want to be optimistic about Fred but it is hard. I watch him and it is like watching Mata play CDM. He is small and lacking in power so you expect him to be fast and quick with the ball, but then you find out he doesn’t have real pace and takes an eternity to turn in tight spaces.
As it is our hope lies in having a stingy defence and a breakout season for a good number of our attackers e.g Greenwood, Martial, Rashford and maybe Gomes. Our midfield will in all likelihood be crap and would struggle against most of the sides in the top half of the EPL.
GloryIsaac: Not really. The Rodri and Cancelo news have been out since, even before the deal was agreed thanks to Fabrizio Romano and Di Marzio.
The only difference is that Man City news doesn't sell as much as Man Utd and there's also a vast difference in fan base.

Of course Manchester United news always sells but the City deals were still not as drawn out as ours have been. Well transfer window will soon close and then we will know what to expect this season.
So Man City quietly signed Rodri and Cancelo with minimal fuss and little or no rumor, but Ed and his band of misfits will be haggling over a player for almost a month with the whole world knowing.
Lol so many things wrong with that list. In what world is Smalling 2nd choice for AWB? 2nd team has 3 CBs and 1 full back, and there is no striker in the 2nd team.
Itsmedozie: I was thinking of something what if we play Jones as our DM after all he started his career as a DM
Jones did not start his career as a DM. He was a CB who had stints at DM for both Blackburn and Manchester United. However for both clubs he started as a CB. Anyway he is no longer the energetic but relatively composed player of those days. Injury and Father Time have eroded his abilities.
iheanyi40: Saw a rumor Newcastle wants Jones 4 12m but utd are holding out 4 15m,
They are mad. Jones a league winning England international for 12m but Longstaff with less than 10 EPL games for 50m? Would rather allow Jones go for 1m to another club.
