But based on impact, Sneijder made a better impact for club and country over Messi. At the World Cup, Sneijder won MOTM 4 times, and was very impactful as Holland reached the WC final. I knew these awards were popularity contests to be honest, especially after the disgusting robbing of Sneijder in 2010.

My only issue was that I disagreed that every single award of John Racist was popularity contest. At least one or two had to be genuine.

Sneijder was not robbed, same way Ribery was not robbed. If player A is so much better than player B, then it should not matter that Player B's team won more titles, Player A should get the award.
It is first and foremost an INDIVIDUAL award, the team's achievements come into play usually when you are trying to separate 2 closely matched players, for example most of the Messi v Ronaldo years.

Ozil is someone you fear when he plays against your team cos he can hurt you at any time with his gift of the final pass and vision.
On the other hand when he is on your team you can easily get frustrated with him because of his inconsistent work rate and his tendency to disappear in games Mkhi style.
