A40: He bounced back strongly though but same Molina AJ beat in 3 rounds. Szpilika I think it is. Wilder's two toughest fights were Stiverne and Szpilika but he almost sent Szpilika to coma as well. Wilder's blows no be sere were oo I believe he is fighting Stiverne again soon. Now Stiverne is a guy with a chin but can't hit like Wilder. I am suspecting it is all building up to a Wilder vs AJ sometime in the 2nd half of next year. |

A40: You mean Molina or Areola? The fight I recalled him having issues was with that Polish guy Sz-something.
Lol who can blame the opponents though? Those blows are bone crushing bro. That Takam dude is a mutant! I no too surprise sha cos it's a Cameroon thing Correct, i think it was Molina. Wilder's knees buckled at some point in the fight from Molina's hooks. The guy na sufferhead, no stamina and little defence and he has fought both AJ and Wilder. Szpilika? Yes he did cos he was actually fit and technically sound unlike many of these fatty bomboms claiming heavyweight. But Wilder sent him to sleep though. Wilder punch be like say he dey hold otumopo for that right hand. |

A40: Hahaha I thought he blatantly ducked the second oncoming punch. That was very smart! My worry is still with AJ's chin. Klitschko didn't capitalize on the edge he had that night. A Wilder would definitely have knocked him out but Klitschko played it safe and wanted to coast to a decision forgetting he was fighting a younger guy that could regain his strength and go for broke Yeah he ducked it and quickly went down. Actually Wilder himself does not appear to have such a solid chin. In one fight with a Latino fight who he later slaughtered Wilder was staggered by a number of just ok punches. The problem opponents of AJ and Wilder have is that they spend too much time dodging bombs to think about throwing any of their own. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Offical Bayern Munich Fan Thread: 6x Champions Of Europe by afrodoc2: 10:11am On Oct 31, 2017 |
A40: I don't know if Takam wanted to be dropped. It's been a while I've seen someone hit with so many heavy blows and simply refused to fall. You could also tell he wasn't out on his feet or anywhere close to the ropes which woulda been a bit more definitive for me. The ref even had Takam on a headlock just to stop the fight by all mean. He was too extra.
Stiverne is a pretty solid guy. I think he would be a handful for AJ as well. There is this Big Baby Miller dude I would also like to see take on AJ or Deontay. He's undefeated and talks a good one. Though he has mostly faced sankwa fighters too . The problem is that the heavyweight division is populated by too many fufu fighters so it is really difficult to assess the real quality and knockout power of some of the good ones. |

SailorXY: hahaha it calls to mind a conversation a friend had with his elder bro some time ago who stays in Canada.
Younger: bro how far? arrange me way make I come hustle na
Elder: aburo this place no easy oo. I dey even do 4 jobs just to survive
Younger: only you 4 jobs bros even 1 jab no touch me for Naija since I graj na
Elder: guy relax you no go understand.
this guy finally hustled his way to Finland & isn't doing badly right now, this is after 3 years of roaming aimlessly after school.
I observe that most guys based permanently abroad kinda discourage their friends & families from coming over except for schooling. I wonder why. There is prosperity everywhere and there is poverty everywhere too, it just depends on your individual situation. But on that thread they were making silly comparisons like US based cleaner vs Naija based bank manager and on top of that they were quoting bogus figures. Why not compare like for like e.g naija based barber vs US based barber AND then factor in things people abroad take for granted like good roads, constant electricity, good healthcare, available credit facilities e.t.c What I make in a day now I used to make in a month in Naija. Even nurses, radiographers and physiotherapists from Naija building duplexes everywhere. If they could do that back home they won't be going on strike every other month and slide tackling one another professionally. It is when you come in illegally and you have no professional qualifications that you might suffer long. |

Nihilist: I boxed at amateur level and even that's new to me. The tactics I learnt were mostly ring control( centre, angles, inside/outside boxing) and conditioning(how to take a punch, guard, grappling) etc.
This is the first time I'm hearing about this tactic of going down to but time. I guess you learn every dat.
If Joshua circles from right to the left, through out the match, then that's Wilder done.
Wilder has no fundamentals. No footwork, basic combinations, and everything he does is geared towards setting up that right hook.
If Joshua takes him on the inside and circles clockwise, it could be over by the 5th or 6th. When Muhammed Ali was in trouble against Henry Cooper, Ali's corner man tore his gloves in between rounds just so they had to extend the rest period to allow Ali put on new gloves. This gave Ali time to recover and go on and win the fight. So many tricks in the book but basic thing is you don't take punishment that you can avoid. Wilder is really ugly to watch. And you are on point about him. He has no footwork, no set up game, does not jab effectively, has not shown any defence to speak of and is all right hook. But that hook seems to have poison in it. I saw a fight where his opponent appeared to be having seizures or something similar after the knockdown. |

Nihilist: Interesting insight there doc.
I must admit that I never even considered that angle, but I suppose that's one way of buying time, provided you're not worried about preserving your knockdown record.
Yes the guy is very smart, and very technical.
His technicality his size amazing. The way he drops combinations is mouth watering. His agility and hand speed is too too good
I love boxers who can actually box, nor just bruteforcing their way through bouts with sheer punching power.
I was very doubtful about this guy, but he keeps showing me different angles to his game. He can give you sweet science and he can dasi rough.
He might just be the chosen one Unbeaten record better pass knockdown record. I saw that move and i just confirmed this is a guy who does not forget boxing tutorials. Trust me these are tips given to every pro boxer but in the heat of battle many forget what they have been taught, Joshua didn't forget. Wilder has the advantage in experience and reach AND because he is a swin.ger he is the one more likely to have a knockout via a lucky punch. Joshua is younger, faster, more skilled as a boxer and possibly hits harder BUT can sometimes be too measured with his punches. I think it will come down to stamina and chin. AJ wins if he exploits the weaknesses in Wilder's style. |

A40 so you as ref would allow AJ to keep landing shots at an opponent who has both brows open and can't even keep his guard up?
na wa for you o. AJ moved up really quickly so what he lacks in experience he makes up for in instinct and natural talent plus he is smart too. It was the Klitschko fight that showed me how smart he was. If you watch closely the Klitschko punch didn't knock him down, he went to the ground intentionally himself to avoid further punishment, take the count and clear his head. Any other boxer would have done eegun ori, stay up taken 2 or 3 more punches for Klitschko and been done for the night. |

A40: No EPL defender today has achieved Boateng's status both individually and on the back of titles won. Btw how you reason that Joshua/Takam fight? Can I get a phuck you to that ref for stopping the fight prematurely! Takam was not on the ropes neither was he out on his feet AJ was comfortable but didn't need any help from that bloodclart ref.
Wilder/Stiverne this weekend!! This year is truly a boxing fans wet dream cc @Nihilist Afrodoc A little prematurely? Maybe. But fights are stopped earlier these days because of all the research on brain damage. He was getting punched directly on both sides of the head by a HEAVYWEIGHT who is known to be an unsually hard hitter, and he couldn't keep his guard up. Ref probably prolonged his life, boxing career and improved his quality of retirement life with that little kind gesture. |

Ribery was not the best player in that team Robben was. Ribery scored ONE champions league and 10 league goals, Ronaldo scored TWELVE champions league goals and 34 league goals. Ribery did not deserve jack. It was a TEAM effort by Bayern with Robben and Muller as important if not more important than Ribery. |

How you see Ukaku performance today? Worked hard throughout, tried to make runs which the midifelders especially Mikki could not connect. One thing he has to work on is his footwork and link up play. In big games in which we will tend to sit back a little he has to make the ball stick to his feet. He is good in other aspects. |

Solid performance against a very dangerous team. The entire back 5 were immense especially Young. Matic and Herrera worked really hard and the forwards worked their socks off, only Mikki was crap today.
The formation was on point, against the lower ranked teams i want JM to try a 3-4-3 with Martial, Lukaku and Rashford on the pitch TOGETHER. |

3-5-2 vs 3-4-3. Mikki's play is crucial. He has the dual role of being the extra man in midfield and being the link with the 2 strikers in the front. |
