I like the way Mr Obi is trying to unite the country and establish a new relationship between the north and south east, and he's doing it everyday as if he's campaigning for election.

Politicians should not wait till the time of elections before doing the right thing.

His desperation stinks from a mile away. It's must be really foolish of him to think Muslims and northerners are so gullible. They are just being decent in honouring him in the his endless waka-about.

Come 2027 they'll remind him of "yes daddy" I've spoken with a few political Davy, elite people from Kano who said categorically that they were indifferent to him till that yes daddy incident.

There is no JOY when you go outside God's way.
No matter how you try to Pretend, you are deceiving yourself.

What you get is sadness, Pains, regrets, troubles, battles upon battles etc

There is nothing "unGodly", immoral against customs traditions and culture where a man takes another wife and accords all women in his care love and protections as expected of a good husband.

We should stop this nonsense, there is no place in the Bible where it is specifically dictates that a man "must" marry only one woman, it only advocates that due to human nature it's best to limit oneself according to ones capacity emotional and financial

Not that I am defending the honour of this university but of all the things to highlight, I don’t think student ratio should be one of them.

Many decent universities have huge lectures like this for general information until the students now branch into their respective fields.

There is no sense in giving the same lecture to tiny classes of 15, over and over when you can just gather everybody at once

A general lecture can still take 50 or 60, if the hall is well designed and the lecturer is well experienced in delivery. But there is no way 250- 300 students can sit together so tightly and all be able to follow the instructions of the lecturer.

We set go school nah

The student population in that class shown in the video is far too large imho. That is over 100 people. You'd expect at least 2 teaching assistants + the lecturer in that size population

Unfortunately I do not agree with your Point on buratai. There are some silly but dangerous mistakes he makes that makes me wonder on how good a strategist he is owing to his vast experience. Let's look at the recent one :how can u announce to the world your war strategy that you are going go bombard certain states and go ahead to even give the dates.... I was highly disappointed and angered as well as confused

I fully agree with you. It is a silly practice he didn't start but he has kept alive; I however think it is one due to the politicization if the army leadership and the desire to show they are doing something.

All armies do this in some way or another but the NA literarily tell BH when and how they'll bombard their positions.

Who has noticed that it will be easy for the North to rig 2019 elections in favor of Buhari or his 'Protege'?

The Security Chiefs are MOSTLY Northerners, hence with the influence, they can win again!

Something SHOULD URGENTLY be done to correct the Federal Character Principle in Public Office Appointment (especially Security Chiefs) or else... (Remember Benue!)

Kindly reshare TILL it is fixed

The only thing that shld be done to correct the federal character principle is for it to be exponged from the Constitution.

It has no place in that document. If the civil service is cleaned up and people are promoted based on competence there is no need for federal character

What a hypocrite.

In my experience on this earth, I haven't met bigger and more dangerous hypocrites than muslims. This doesn't mean I haven't met people from other religions who are hypocrites, I have. I've met christian hypocrites. But the troubling thing about muslim hypocrites is that they are the only ones that have the tendency to harm and even kill others for the same thing that they are guilty of. And they'll justify it with their holy scriptures.

Islam needs a serious reformation.

After reading your short ridiculous epistle I came to an easy conclusion. You have not meet many people and your experience is limited.

I've meet a great few extreme Christians, those who are able to kill in very diabolical ways.

Because a small percentage less than 1% of individuals who claim to be Muslim have committed a crime you are now accusing a whole religious persuasion.

What can be said of the Sikhs and Hindus in India who have commited crimes unspeakable.

I'll contend the biggest hypocrites the world has ever seen reside in UK and US countries with a Christian majority and heritage. They enslaved and abused humanity using evil morals; in Congo the Belgian mutilated and murdered at will.

Last I checked Hitler and Musolini were not Muslims

And before you say it I'm a penticostal Christian born and baptised in the Anglican commune with a deep love of Christ and all that is true

Pls do enlighten us more on the effective system of managing the herdsmen in Kano. This should be interesting

The governor has a well set up community of herders, all herders in the community are registered and knows to the mehyeti leadership in the locality.

There are set out cattle routes the farmers are not allowed to plant on and the herders are strictly forbidden from entering any farm land.

There are no known conflicts that have escalated within Kano in the last few months. Issues are delt with by the Emir, village heads and Fulani Mehyeti leadership.

There are provisions for vet Dr and water for the cattle.

I've read from accredited sources that Kano have a very effective system in place set up by Kwankwaso which Ganduje has expanded on. The cattle have their travel route which does not cross any farms and anyone who breaks the rules is dealt with severely

You are missing the point. This is not just a case of wild lives straying into farms. This is a case of deliberate and calculated herding of cattle into farms. Whatever you recommend for the farmers must be extended to the herders. Since you mention living in europe, then ranching should not be a novel idea. It is a standard practice

I never said ranching is not the right way forward. The state governments need to ban public herding of Cattle just as Benue has done ;Already there is an existing FG ban on herding of cattle on public roads but like many other regulations it is not adhered to . And also ensure as there is adequate consequence for flouting rules and regulations.

However anyone who owns farms has an obligation to ensure their farms are adequately secure from unwanted encroachment by using fencing.

Gov doesn't have to do it all

And who will run this port? The Nigerian Custom Service or who exactly?

And why are you trying to turn it to a tribal banter. Is that an easier way to follow the argument or what exactly?

You are the ones that turned it into a tribal banter by insinuating that there is a calculated tribal gangup against the SE and SS.
You intentionally ignored the hardwork , vision and dedication of the SW leadership.

This port was designed and located to feed the inter lands of Ogun through Ogun Oyo and Ondo. The Ondo State government is already planning a super highway that links ondo to Lagos direct within 1hr

That's vision and purpose not some mediocre leadership in the SS and SE.

Those sycophants are still praising Ibori after all his looting of their sovereign wealth

Personally, I think it's silly. Like a mother that deliberately inhibits the growth of her children. Somebody is trying to say these Ports are state projects and you begin to wonder whether there is a body called Lagos State Custom Service that will run the place. A country doesn't grow like this. We need about 6 or more of what you have in Apapa all over the country. Same policy. Same clearing fee. Same system.

The only reason federal Customs have to run the place is because the Constitution says that Nigerian customs service is under federal control otherwise I'm sure Lagos state gov would implement a better performing agency to manage the port.

Heathrow airport is private but the UK border force still reign supreme in the affairs of the airport.

Yes we need 6 more ports and it's time the SE and SS governors get serious

Lol. State project? Without the backing of the FG it's bullshit. Without the FG to regulate the custom services in the ports it's impossible. State Project? Yes, but with the order of the FG.

You obviously skipper English classes . Consent and order are two very different things. It's is the hardwork of the Omoluabi in Lagos that brought about this project.

Do you think a commercial farm is the size of a plot of land? While spending money erecting barbed wires and steel poles round several hectares of farmland, what happens to the trespasser doing same for his cattle

It is the standard on many farms stop talking like some of us have never been to a farm before, yes it is a lot for money but it may be what is required.

There are enough young engineers in Nigeria maybe they shld device a solution that has commercial value.

I live in a country in EU where the major business for centuries was farming and still is in the rural areas. Most farmers fence their many hectares of land using wood because barbed wire is barned because of wildlife safety.

I agree with you, frustration is not enough reason to break the law. However, I'm sure he had no plans to permanently confiscate the said cows and he had to detain them as exhibit...this is naija, CCTV cameras are hardly functional in the cities, least of all a farm where they prolly have erratic power supply.

Let's be real here, this judgement was malicious and a warning to others who may want to disturb Fulani herdsmen. We have heard of Fulani cows breaking barriers and barricades to feed, so the issue of fencing his farm is not applicable.

There is nothing malicious about the judgement, yes the system has failed the respondent however the failure of the system is not a good reason for violating the laws.

He had legal recourse and that option is never off the table no matter how many times he fails he needs to keep trying. The farmers need to also set in place protocols and be in agreement with the local security apparatus
