She finished secondary school at the age of 13 grin

Double promotion na water. Thank God it worked for her
But what is the point of a chartered accountant that is not legally liable, can she even be sued to court as an adult for professional misconduct.

She has passed her ICAN but I doubt she'll be able to work as a chartered accountant till she is 18 and then which company would employ someone who doesn't have at least a bachelor's degree.

Rubbish judgement!

How many of those churches burnt in the north have been compensated? I've seen churches burnt during post election violence, yet nothing was done. The church members had to contribute money and rebuilt their church.

Nigeria's judicial system is completely flawed. IMO
The churches can take the perps to court if they can serve them notice. You need to understand the way courts work, if a church is destroyed by faceless marauders who does the church take to court unless they can claim that the state or LG has a tacit involvement in the action and they'll have to prove it.
Sometimes we need to use our reasoning before making ridiculous statements.

Unless he has evidence of criminal activities at the shrine, he has no right to destroy anything there. Some Christians are worse than Boko Haram.
Even if he has evidence of criminal activity he still has no right as he not law enforcement. Even if a state governor destroys a shrine the adherents can take him/her to court on the same principle.

I understand the context but as they say, you don't fix what's not broken. Couldn't khaki have been produced locally as well? And watering down the scheme from a basic paramilitary to whatever they plan to do now is like providing a solution to look for a problem.
NYSC is not a paramilitary scheme in any form, bringing some third level graduates into a camp to do physical activity and complete the most basic marching drills that many high school marching bands and boys scouts/girls guides are well capable of doing in primary and secondary level is not paramilitary.
That the military are involved in it's administration doesn't make it paramilitary, the vast majority of the NYSC 1 yr programme is spent at the duty desk in some far flong village or a strange town teaching school kids and for the few fortunate working in the big city with a top corp or a major government agency.

The NYSC needs reform that this new system provides, it moves from a 1yr transition programme where most people are wasting away to a system that prepares individuals for employment and productivity.

There are small/medium and even large companies that abuse the NYSC because they know they'll get cheap labour annually. They don't invest any skill into the corp members because they are there to be exploited; very few gain anything tangible from NYSC bar the life experience which is not always positive. Many have died while travelling to their deployment many have been kidnapped many have suffered similar or worse fates.

I will repeat this again
Make una dey try travel
Please tell me one state or community where people don't use print material to make simple casual clothing. What people call Ankara is just a name that was coined for it. It's just mass manufactured structured print on white cotton.

Thereby adding more costs? They should channel those costs to corps members welfare. They even said they want to remove the parades and military drills. Essentially turning the scheme to a vacation cruise.
Do you understand the economic importance of having local material, there would be farmers who farm cotton, flax and wool, Polymer from Dangote, the possibility of a textile mill coming up etc

The government should to start with revive the Kaduna textile company same institution that gave us a fighter like Adams Oshiomole and use it to produce the textiles for the NYSC khaki and other local inspired designs

1Alex:
During his tenure as Governor of Anambra State (2006–2014), Peter Obi made healthcare one of his major spending priorities. His administration invested in hospital infrastructure, primary healthcare, maternal care, and partnerships with mission hospitals.

Some of the most frequently cited investments include:

₦3 billion for mission and government hospitals (2013): His government disbursed about ₦3 billion to upgrade hospitals, build and renovate facilities, improve equipment, and strengthen maternal and child healthcare. Major beneficiaries included hospitals such as Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital (Ihiala), Iyienu Hospital (Ogidi), Holy Rosary Hospital (Onitsha), St. Joseph's Hospital (Adazi-Nnukwu), and several general hospitals across the state.

Renovation of public hospitals: His administration renovated numerous general hospitals and constructed rural maternity and child health centres to expand access to healthcare, particularly in underserved communities.

Support for mission hospitals: Rather than building an entirely state-run system, Obi's government invested heavily in mission-owned hospitals, which already provided a significant share of healthcare services in Anambra. The funding was used for infrastructure, accreditation, equipment, and staff training.

Healthcare recognition: During his administration, Anambra received recognition for improvements in immunization, and Obi was awarded the Best Performing Governor on Immunization in Southeast Nigeria by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Overall, the best-documented figure is the ₦3 billion healthcare intervention announced in 2013, alongside broader investments in hospital upgrades, rural health centres, and mission hospitals.
Peter couldn't have budgeted 3B in 2013 as such ammounts were not available for state governments. How much was Anambra getting from FAAC monthly to have 3 Billion budgeted

Show me where I was cheering Tinubu for doing such.... I am only stating what is the constitution...
If Tinubu did same then he is taking away responsibility of the LGA, and that is not good for our development.
Ask him to show you where this government budgeted to build primary healthcare centres or announced it. The minister for health has given multiple media talks on the direction of this administration and there is nothing there about the FG building PHCC but rather building capacity that can operate healthcare at the local levels

"I Will Build Primary Health Centres in All 8,000+ Wards" — Obi Declares During Abuja Visit

During his visit to the Waru Wazobia community in Apo, Abuja, NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi unveiled an ambitious vision to establish primary healthcare centres in all of Nigeria's more than 8,000 wards. Addressing residents during the ongoing PVC registration exercise, Obi emphasized that true governance is measured not by what happens in major cities, but by the impact it has on underserved rural communities.

"This is where governance truly matters, not only in the cities. The rural communities, where the needs are greatest, are where government should demonstrate that it exists and genuinely cares for its people. These communities deserve quality education, accessible primary healthcare, and other essential basic amenities," he said.

Obi also urged Nigerians to play an active role in the electoral process, stressing that meaningful national development begins with citizen participation. His remarks have sparked fresh conversations about rural development, healthcare, education, and the importance of voting in shaping Nigeria's future.
Can someone tell Obi it's not the duty of the FG to build or operate primary healthcare under the Nigerian constitution. The supreme court has made that very clear when they passed the judgement on local government accounting and operations.

Not surprised this is a man who as governor never ran a single LG elections.

I thought as much. Adire and Ankara are known with cultures from the South-West which is where the President is from.

Other parts of the country may feel sidelined because they have their indigenous clothing too that are made locally as well.

Lets thread slowly on this to avoid cultural divides.

The khaki NYSC have historically used can be made in Nigeria too. Its almost like saying Nigeria Police, Army,Airforce, Navy, Custom etc should start wearing Ankara to promote local manufacturing. It makes zero sense please.
Adire and Ankara are not exclusively yoruba patterns, Ankara is worn right across the country as an inexpensive material to make clothing.

Nvidia was also like spacex and those who missed it have themselves wallowing in regret now.

I'm not surprised the way most of you are thinking. Someone your age is already a job provider in a decent country. Is frying akara a sort of youth empowerment or what? Who doesn't fry akara in his house? This week they posted the list of cities with the highest number of billionaires in the world and Nigeria was missing out. China that followed usa closely couldn't lace our shoes decades ago. Nigeria was seen as the next world power from africa after the ancient Egypt. The western world were afraid of us.

Today, China has left us far behind. All the money they're stealing can be used to empower people like you, the way China and Japan do to their citizens. Those Chinese you see on the streets of our major cities were empowered by their government to explore foreign markets. During Jonathan era, we had sure-p and you-win programmes which had benefited a lot of startups. There were funds for agriculture. Nigeria didn't go hungry. I remember the great jobs done by akinwumi, the AfDB man who was minister of agriculture under Jonathan. That was what earned him that office at afdb

The apc came and disrupted a progressive economy with propaganda. We're now the 5th largest economy in africa, falling from 1st position. I blame only those who allowed someone like Remi and her husband to near that place. We knew them better and the reason we didn't vote her husband in lagos in 2023.

This generation is the most unfortunate one and sadly the one supporting this callous regime. Had they lived from 2015 backwards, they'd realise the degree of harm the apc had done them and be crying. Those who lived in that era were actually those who enjoyed Nigeria.
Sure P and all those free money schemes are doomed to fail and I advise that the FG should not venture into those againz rather the FG needs to work on the interests rates and also facilitate small startup loans that the recipient feels an obligation to run a successful business

He will loose more. His companies are overvalued. While Tesla is the world's leading EV producer, it doesn't even rank among the top 10 vehicle manufacturers in the world. The company currently has a market cap of 200 billion dollars.

I understand that SpaceX has huge potentials. That intrinsic value is what drives its market worth into trillions but investors are begining to see into the hype.

Mind you, Elon still hasn't paid the banks for the money he borrowed to buy twitter. He doesn't have it. He and his companies are coasting on vibes. The moment he dares sell any stock, the share price of X will collapse. He knows this and that's why he quickly forced himself to associate with Donald Trump.
Space X has a no real value they can't even deliver on their core goal of galactic travel . It's not economically viable and they are decades off technically. Like someone already mentioned this is a pump and dump and the ehol SEC is in on the fraud.

Elon doesn't care he's just trying to square up the big players he owes from the twitter purchase and his debts.

Nigeria can't be N300/1€ not unless we want to tank our economy and go back to Fx subsidy or do what Ghana tried which ultimately failed.
If we must strengthen our currency we must become a major manufacturing hub and improve our balance of trade which is a 10 year project at the least

This has been done long before the establishment of the development commission which in my opinion is just a repetition of already established agencies....why has it not been operational knowing fully well that it's one of the key reasons why local products are more expensive than the imported products?

We keep hearing about plans without corresponding actions for more than 3 years of this incompetent administration!

Even when operational,it doesn't serve those who need it most because the system isn't effective and efficient!

Until the key components like effective security, reduced transport cost, accessible roads etc are proactively and aggressively addressed, imported products unfortunately will keep dominating local products!
The successive governors in the SW have been either incompetent or distracted, it's only in the last 6years that many of them have been able to settle their reoccurring expenses within their states, and ultimately they lacked grand vision and conviction
