yes u are right.

try it in America or UK and u will be given an award for creating awareness.

try it in Iran and they will hang u publicly like terrorist do.
People have been arrested for filming without license or notice in UK that I know of, and charged with GDPR offences. If you are going to capture an individual in a video for a prolonged period you need to notify them first and they can object therefore the idea of public doesn't apply in this case.

There is no privacy in a public spaces. in a private coy building or hotel etc yes privacy rules may be enforceed depending on the situation.

They have failed to address the unavailability of BRT buses at ikorodu terminals. undecided
Go say that in Tokyo Japan metro, there is an expected level of privacy in a bus service per GDPR, a BRT bus is not a public space in the same manner that filming on the street is a public space.

It is better to at least calculate the cost of construction (not going cost of real estate) then remove rent for time spent and then pay them the balance so that the government can take over the complex to use for whatever they want. That would be more humane. Demolition is a waste of money and it is also counterproductive.

If government gives me that kind of land in such a manner I would not develop it
How is it counter productive, a government needs to be organised and to set standards that all must keep. The trade fair had been abused for years and the shop owners there know it. They've built illegal structures on land that is not theirs in a trade fair in which they were never meant to be permanent stalls.

If the LG fails to set a standard it's pointless. If the LG decides to keep it and run it as a market they'll set new rules for compliance.

The governments and individuals over the years who managed the trade fair complex are the thieves who allowed individuals to build on FG land, anyone who has a shop there would only have a lease no building there would have a C/O therefore the individuals who have invested there knee full well that they were investing illegally because a trade fair complex is not intended to be a permanent market with traders permanently situated rather it is meant to host different traders temporarily.

I'm certain none of the people who runs stalls there would be able to provide legitimate documents that transfers the right to permanent ownership of space to them.

It's unfortunate but they knowingly engaged in illegality which unfortunately exposes you to real risk.

The trade fair is Lagos state and LG land annexed by the FG for the express purpose of the 1977/ 78 trade fair since then it has never continuously served the purpose of that trade fair but has become a market with permanent stalls, there are more than enough supreme court judgment that further federalism which is what our constitution guaranteed.

We all argue that we want federalism, devolution of federal powers and decentralisation but the simple logic of federal government handing over the trade fair complex suddenly becomes a no go area.

This is something that would happen more going forward a lot of FG assets nationwide is being handed to states, Lagos state already took control of the former FG state house in Marina, same has happened in Enugu, Kogi and Ibadan that I know of, all those old abandoned federal secretariats are being handed to state governments because a lot of them were creations of a military unitary doctrine which we are moving away from.

Most of them are too short sighted and power drunk to realize this fact.
It's impossible to reverse this as if the state and LG go to supreme court they'll win 100% of the time just by citing the constitution which makes it clear without equivocation that markets are the remit of local governments.

mikeapollo:
If a federal structure or facility is located in a State and the FG wants to relinquish its control or give it out, the State has the right of first refusal because the structure is situated on State land.
The traders association should look for a very good lawyer that would represent them well whenever they want to enter any new Agreement and also obtain a court injunction to prevent the State from ejecting them or increasing fees and levies until an Agreement is reached.
It would be hard for them to get an injunction against eviction, the way the FG had managed the trade fair and the manner the complex management has operated makes inevitable that the complex would be demolished.

Of what use is a trade fair that doesn't host fairs, is not temporary in nature and operates as a market.

The Lagos government may seem to build another super structure for use in expos and industry trade fairs, these are usually auditoriums or open areas with conference rooms and meeting areas not small shops in a congested buildings.

Can't they try to get a guarantee from the FG that the fees will not increase with the hand over? The FG can subsidize whatever increase the State wants to make. Why protest in fear of what may happen instead of trying to make it not happen?
The FG has no right ti interfere in LG or state policy or we don't want federalism anymore!

Na wetin concern Lagos State Government with trade fair complex?

The complex is the property of the federal government
The trade fair complex was built for the trade fair and for the past 30 years it has operated as a market with stalls operated permanently by shop keepers, since by law markets are under the authority of LG it is only logical using the doctrine of decentralisation and federalism that the FG must transfer it.

This is not unique to Lagos it's must be done nationally. FG must stop encroaching on the rights of states and LGs

Is the FG stopping any state from building more markets? I don't understand why you're complaining.

The FG wants to handover some unnecessary burden to the states and Local Government Areas, you're here still wailing

Suffer no dey tire you? defending the indefensible
We asked for Federalism and now complaining that the FG transferring assets that naturally according to our constitution should be under the state/LG government control.

The trade fair is no more a trade fair which was the reason that the FG acquired state land and has operated for more than 30 years as a public market and therefore by law the FG doesn't have the remit to operate a market that is under the control of the states and LG.

When Tinubu is sworn in for second term in 2027, He will lead the country for another 4yesr final Yoruba tenure after which power will rotate back to Northern Nigeria.

The North will then be expected to lead for 8yrs with an Igbo Vice President after which in 2039, an Igbo President is expected to as a matter of the continuous existence of the country.

mikeapollo:
US is a super power! Drones are nothing to the US!
MQ9 reapers are everything to US,since under Obama in 2008 over 70% if US missions for surveillance and high value bombing has been completed by MQ 9 . Otherwise they have B2 spirit and B1 lacers which are strategic bombers they are essentially Domesday assets they'll be very careful to put them in the sky over Iran because they know the Chinese and Russian are keeping an eye on that zone and would take the chance to deploy supersonic interdiction to take them out.

The Americans are not daft, 11 MQ9 reapers is a lot they'll be able to replace them soon enough but it'll take no less than 15 months.

I suspect to build a single reaper must be no less than 3 months if all parts and capacity is available

Kaliningrad:
The 🇺🇸 US military has lost 11 MQ-9 Reaper drones during the US-Israel war on Iran, according to US officials cited by CBS News, marking one of the most significant equipment losses of the war.

Two additional drones were recently shot down, bringing the total number destroyed to 11.

The total cost of the lost aircraft is estimated at more than $330 million.

MQ-9 Reaper drones are unmanned aerial vehicles used for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions, as well as precision strike operations.

However, defence officials say the aircraft are easier to target in environments with advanced air defence systems.
Now I see why they are deploying B1 lancers, it's evident the Iranian have s400 & s500 anti air defence systems that can bring down any enemy flying within the stratosphere and not supersonic capable.

What is the one saying?

you are just talking off key, it is like you are still working with outdated information, so you don't know Jambites write their exams online at designated centers all over the country just like INEC has designated polling units all over the country ?
I doubt that there are over 176,000 jamb centers in the country and I doubt that many jamb centers are in remote locations.
Jamb centers are designed for a singular occasion, relatively limited in location and many network errors are mitigated because the circumstances allow for it.
Elections polling units are spread across Nigeria l, in the same interlands that are affected by insecurity where we've been told t could take security agents over 2hours in bad roads to get there, where we have seen incidents of incapacity to communicate in cases ofemergency, how it can be concluded that ALL 176,000 polling units would have 100% network success on day of election is rather perplexing.

We know for a fact that less than 40% would be successfully at upload between 2-8pm election day so why design a flaw into the law.

Nigerians: Make electronic transmission of result mandatory !

Akpabio's Senate: We don't have network coverage everywhere in Nigeria.

Network Operators: We have covered every part of Nigeria and even the slowest internet category(GPRS) can do the work effectively.

Akpabio's Senate: No, we love Nigerians too much and cannot risk it.

Yet Jambites are forced all over the country to use the same network to gain admission into university.

Meanwhile:
Jambites are not time bound with their application neither are they location bound, it can assure you that many people completing online applications may be unsuccessful due to technical network errors during the process, the server may become overloaded however that is not a catastrophic failure, as the individual mat retry at another location at another time.

With elections that is different, the expectations is that the over 176,000 Poling units would be successfully uploaded at the completion of election once the EC8 form has been completed noted by the security agents, election officer and party agents.

The failure to upload if a caveat wasn't in place would be that election would be deemed incomplete and inclusive, that is a misnomer and I'd say that can be challenged in court as any citizen can state disenfranchisement on the basis of bias due to location.

The law is best as is, Nigeria doesn't have electronic voting neither do we have electronic collation so why people are so fixated on the photocopy that would be uploaded to IRev is rather perplexing.

We should rather insist on videography of the polling stations.

The real issue is the volume of prisoners and the variety of countries across multiple continents.

Cambodia, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Eutopia , South Africa, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Morocco, Turkey, Cyprus, Italye, Germany, Poland , UK, USA , Mexico, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, UAE , Tunisia, these are just a few of the counties where at least 20 Nigerians are in the correctional system. Some have over 200 inmates in their system.

It would be too tasking for the ministry to attempt to resolve all matters rather they must review cases a d select the ones that are urgent and reasonable
