seppuku:It's not a question of kingship rather one of right to title. If the state in Nigeria wants to enact a right to title it can using legislative authority to establish such title and then give a commission to an individual to hold that title and use it publicly. If states were serious in Nigeria the issue of eze ndigbo is constitutional and has already been resolved in law. The law vests chieftaincy with states and local governments, so therefore it's becomes illegal for anyone to call himself baálé, chief or eze ndigbo even if all the people in that community insist on it. Nigeria needs to address the run away issue of chieftaincy award by kings. A king should not have the authority to grant a chieftaincy without the constitutional backing from the local governments council supported by traditional rites. |
ddippset:There is no judgement that says that a court can not act as an abitrator where a party member approaches a court to pray that his fundamental rights as a member of a party have been infracted contrary to the constitution that binds that party. One must remember that a political party is a public institution and as such can no abitratrily eject a member without appropriate party laws and process. So this idea that a court can not interfere in party actions is flawed because the court can interfere in any actions taken by a political party to ensure such is in compliance to the party constitution what the court can not do is impose a choice on the party outside the party constitution, effectively the court can not manufacture a new set of rules for the party to resolve a complex situation even if done in good faith. If I am a member of a political party and I feel cheated and I conclude I have defence under the party constitution I can go to court. A political party and it's members do not enjoy immunity from court action that flouts the basic principles of our constitution |
ddippset:When you find that judgement I'll be on waiting knowing full well you'll not find it because no such judgment existed. The court only gave an order of Mandamus compelling INEC to attend the convention it didn't give a final judgement before November convention. It was a tacit action by the judge who was only a few months to retirement. |
Ofunaofu:That is a terrible lie and I'm certain Bode George never made such a statement. Tinubu was one of the ranking party members in the senate , Abiola himself was a party to the ascension of Abacha with the hope to displace the illegal interim government in order to restore his mandate before he was undercut by Abacha. He then left the country only to return and make the Epe declaration for which he was arrested for treason and attempting to establish a parallel government. I know you don't even know the history of Nigeria and Nadeco. Tinubu was a member of the Shehu Musa Yar'adua faction that helped Abiola secure the SDP ticket which would have otherwise gone to Atiku, Abiola is the one who betrayed that faction because Yar'adua and other ultimately paid with their lives because Abacha was afraid of them, Abacha never considered Abiola a real threat but people like Yar'adua, Idiagbon, Tinubu and the elderly journalist that was shot in the eye were real threats |
Osariemen12:Forget this your bla bla bla statement, it was a legal over reach for anyone to declare himself with the support of any number of co nuisance as a chief. Our any-how-ness in Nigeria is too much, in the united Kingdom or anywhere in Europe you can not become a lord of a manor or a dame and address yourself as such publicly without a letter from the king and the state recognising your claim, you can be arrested for impersonation. But in Nigeria we have all sorts of Atunba, yeye this and that, bobakeye, eze and kings in every hamlet, some people who were no more than warrant chiefs a dacse ago suddenly become kings because a governor wills it, that is in serious contravention of our historical knowledge, cultural heritage. Nigeria needs to curb this menace, and sort out it's chieftaincy laws dispassionately. No king should have the authority to grant a chieftaincy title without legal authority in accordance with the chieftaincy laws of that state and proper assignment. |
Eagleways:Looking from the press statements of the consulate and the video of the head of mission they never claimed that the incident didn't occure rather they are saying the man and his co travellers are clown that have no legal or traditional recognition anywhere and should be ignored as just an expression their cultural values taken too far. |
Memphis357:The same Adebanjo that betrayed Awolowo, it's still speculated he is the one the central government and Zik used to plot that fake agenda that Àwo was training rebels in Ghana. The same Adebanjo that betrayed Bola Ige, the same one that betrayed several Afenifere leaders, same Adebanjo that betrayed the SW governors of AD in 2003 for OBJ. I support Tinubu in not allowing that old man in undermining him and his ambitions in 2023, they have no good agenda for omo luabi and ọmọ kaarọ o'jire. |
AMINDA:Elections is in less than 12 months, we'll all be here to witness it God willing. The same Bayelsa that is the smallest state in Nigeria, how many local governments dey there. |
AMINDA:Tinubu didn't betray El-Rufai it was the Northern players who Tinubu consulted that told him to drop El-Rufai. From what I have garnered the man has multiple enemies over many decades, one elite northerner described him as a man who makes one new enemy daily, he is that kind of fellow. Tinubu wanted to work with El-Rufai but the northern elite don't want him near power becausthey see him an someone who has no allegiance to any principled position and he has a tendency to abuse power. |
ddippset:The Ibadan high court never gave a judgement, go read the court proceedings again. The judge simple gave an order of mandamus to INEC to attend the convention, however the basis of the illegality which was being prayed in the abujahigh court was not exclusively related to INEC attending the convention but that the regional and and 19 states had not constituted their excos and party representatives that would have legal participation at a national convention also a former governor who sought to contest alleged he was illegally blocked. It's simple logic I don't know what is so complex about it |
gare:There can be multiple cases which ultimately address the same principled positions filed by multiple parties with different prayers before multiple courts. However what usually happens is that the chief judge of the court may seek to join the different prayers if there is an overlap, courts have a clerk for this simple reason but those clerks are often incompetent and corrupt. The judicial reform would be required to close the loophole that allows this and disciplinary action taken by the NJC and NBA against lawyer and judges who entertain cases they know is outside of their jurisdiction |
Jokay07:That high court in Ibadan didn't even give a judgement, the judge only gave an order which didn't explicitly state that the Congress can go ahead, but most people don't read the court judgments and proceedings that's why they are so open to manipulation by individuals who know that a court would never do a press conference. It's because of this misrepresentation that some judges now insist on giving their final judgement with live video recording such that the judgement is no subject to misrepresentation. |
yomi531:He's a lawyer and he knows the party politics and he is an individual that carries people along in his decision making. When an individual is sagacious his actions look like magic but it is simple capacity to make conscious decisions, operate with consensus even if your opinion carries more weight and stand on a principled position that is not blown easily by the winds of whimsical change |
Pastorsarynzay:Are you unable to make a simple conclusion on the merits, how can a convention that had no attendance of INEC which was bound by multiple judgements, where the party constitution was openly disobeyed in multiple ways stand to scrutiny. |
Ebinpawo1:You must be ignorant of the law, anyone who knows how the rules are played knew that November convention had no legs to stand on from get go. Why do you think Adeleke left the party less than 3weeks after the convention |
Fiscus105:Jonathan is the reason for his own downfall and he is the reason for the breakup of PDP. The moment he used executive powers to undermine the 2024 convention where Atiku, Saraki and a host of others walked out that was the day the party finally broke. His refusal to allow for an open playground caused the already overloaded camel to breakdown. |
Ironfaceman:Uche Ogah, Nwaogu and Akomas can go defend their position before the party disciplinary committee, the failure of that committee to discipline Wike and others who have openly declared support for Tinubu is not mutually inclusive of all party members. Bode George openly campaigned for chinedu rhodes vivour in 2023 and till now nobody has disciplined him for anti party, senator Abaribe of APGA was campaigning for Obi was never disciplined by Soludo controlled party structure, anti party is not explicitly documented in any party constitution but the disciplinary committee has the power to commit members who undermine and bring disrepute to the party to a penalty, however party politics is a big boy's field not a kiddies playground where you can say teacher others were throwing sand so I did it too. |
Ironfaceman:Forget any stupid allegations of a script being predetermined, any reasonable individual knew the Amala convention that Seyi and Bala put together in Oyo was bound to fail. The same Bala who was energising Seyi is about to defect to the same APC that Wike has refused to move to. Wike's principles is being misinterpreted as a manipulation but it's a simple concept in politics that alliances are built on trust and agreement. Seyi doesn't seem to understand that concept his political movement shows he's a neophyte ; within Oyo state Seyi has lost credibility amongst PDP stalwarts who brought him into influence and governorship because of his dismissive behaviour and lack of consensus in decision making. If one suspect party members of disloyalty you must not undercut the rules or play outside of it to secure victory, Wike has always played within the rule but he is sagacious enough to exploit the loopholes within those rules and he plays the long game these others are too incompetent to see the bigger picture, their lust for immediate gratification is their downfall. |
HacheNoire:They've not deployed their ballistic assets, when the US went after saddam for the WMDs its Iran that was building intercontinental ballistic missiles, they already have some delivery systems in place for their nuclear ambitions, remember the Russians and China have developed the most advanced rockets so far in terms of range and the Iranian have some of that tech. Or a fact we know they have plenty s400 and s500 anti air. |
Galactics:Trump just wants to use these young guys for sara, they'll get burnt. The operation that advanced into Bagdad in the early 2000s was substantially bigger with lore armoured vehicles and artillery and yet it took a big effort 3500 infantry would be insufficient to keep the strait of Hormuz open. Whoever is advising Trump at the military level need to be sacked. Evidently this is what you get when a guy that struggled to get past captain who by all military standards is sub par and who lacks operations expertise and command experience is the one leading generals. |
LordBiden:Patel and this bunch of idiots trump has put in place have been known to conduct serious business using personal emails, they have been known to use unsecured phone lines to discuss sensitive matters. Patel and fellow idiots like him have no capacity for the roles they are in. |
SIRTee15:If you use an LLM for architecture and engineering you are taking a major risk as the designs I've seen done by AI models are optimised for efficiency, they don't necessarily address human ergonomic needs or general structural requirements. I don't see LLMs taking engineering design and Architecture jobs. |
ogaemma:Nothing to do with government policy, the only part of government I see here is the weak employment laws to protect employees from arbitrary dismissal. I see a tech start up that was not properly ae up, who bit more than they can chew and looked for the quickest way to cut cost which is always lay offs Anyone doing business with Kuda should just pull out this move shows they are not a progressive modern company if they can't balance their books without mass layoffs. |
opes:I think he can approach the federal courts because this matter and the issue or the state law contradicts the federal constitution which guarantees freedom of speech, freedom of association and the right to vote and be voted for. Seyi is just a despot who lacks political knowledge, he's been one of the worst governors in Oyo when it comes to greed, the man listens to no one takes no advice and runs the state like a personal fiefdom, with his army of yes men and young guys he has promoted, The man has suddenly become one of the largest real estate and land owners in Oyo state within the last few years. Lam Adesina, Akala, Ajimobi even Ladoja who was said to be head hardy operated using consensus and stakeholder engagement but not Seyi. I hope EFCC deal with him when his immunity is removed that's why he's running up and down to secure VP and put a stooge as governor to cover his ass |
aylive02:With the amount of money available from FG he doesn't have to do anything, and indeed he has done nothing. He's incompetent and best he goes come before the year is done |
Neddstark:Are you certain she is not dinning with the devil. What I know is that in 2026 such types of hits are because of betrayal of trust amongst people of the underworld |
LegendHero:How do they want to jump SS in the VP que come 2031, the way it stands it's SS- SW - SE in that VP que in 2031 |
AMINDA:Tinubu bleed votes to Dickson, a man who has continued to loose even in his Bayelsa. If not for technicalities Lyon would be the governor and even worse the sitting governor decamped and left his ass in PDP |
Galactics:When did Tinubu and Wike become labour party members. What is their concern in this matter |
DMCY:The UK are hosting the state visit, the Nigerian government doesn't pay for a state visit. It wasn't solicited by the Nigerian government but rather is an invitation by the UK king who is the host and does it with good reasoning, it is a high honour and I can see the king giving Tinubu a knighthood or some othe sort of royal honour |
Ahayalift:Remind me the guy that own Coleman wires how old is he again, less than 55 yrs and his cable company is the best in Nigeria from what I can see, I know of so many young yoruba entrepreneurs. They don't feel the need to start grandstanding online. |
jaxxy:People have been arrested for filming without license or notice in UK that I know of, and charged with GDPR offences. If you are going to capture an individual in a video for a prolonged period you need to notify them first and they can object therefore the idea of public doesn't apply in this case. |
