Efewestern: So where do you place the Effik/Ibibio in your debate? I thought we all argue with facts rather than sentiment.
Effik/Ibibio should be the fourth largest ethnic group in Nigeria. They always had the numbers.
Here's an unbiased ranking 1. Efik/Ibibio (98% of Cross River & Akwa Ibom) 2. Edoid (2/4 of Delta State, 95% of Edo state, 10% Bayelsa) 3. ijoid (90% Bayelsa, 1/5 Delta state, 1/4 Rivers State, 2% Edo) 3. igboid (1/4 Delta, 2/3 Rivers, 2%Edo)
what in the world does edoid mean.....bini people are limited to edo state na!
If you want to argue further, we can start to referencing population census from the 50's.
Modified: I attached the population census of Bendel (Delta). Urhobo/Isoko (Edoid) - 42% Igboid - 30% Ijaw - 15% Itsekiri - 10%. Please note that I didn't take account of the Urhobo communities in Western Ijo territories and Warri. Also didn't include Isoko population in Ukwuani. This is for Delta state. In Edo state, Edoid group occupied over 95% of the population.
The only state the Igboid group are majority, is Rivers. Meanwhile the Edoid dominate two states (Edo & Delta with significant population in Bayelsa & Rivers).
In Cross River and Akwa Ibom, the Effik/Ibibio occupy these states completely, giving them the clear lead.
The Ijaws are found in every states but only command numbers in Delta, Bayelsa and Rivers. There's no way they can surpass the Edoid group in strength.
I take back all I said about soludo's lack of focus!! 3 projects of his administration have reawakened my belief in him.......The okpoko inner roads and the solution fun city project! I had my doubts about the commissioner of works capacity but Egnr okonma is a sound engineer! I must admit Anambrafirstson was right,,,,we really did not appreciate the sheer volume of work the administration has carried out in the last 24 months! I must say Otti and Soludo are almost neck and neck in the amount of work they have done in 10 months and 24 months respectively.............at last ndigbo can look forward to doing business at home!
AustineE1: I'm telling the absolute truth, once the chips are down, only then will they Yorubas realise how far away they ve driven other southerners.... never in the history of this contraption called Nigeria, has any single region so much isolated others.Nigeria May never be blessed with the grace of light,as long as they allow ethnic jingoist whom sees the seat of presidency as an avenue to get even with other ethnic groups. The chicago junky, can only appoint fellow megalomanaics from Lagos axis, little wonder why Nigeria is in a
terrific mess.
Aside Edo state which south south states voted for peter obi again?..........they all voted either for Tinubu or Atiku, Ndigbo are too busy developing our home states for all these una drama......na today nyansh dey back? Ndigbo are used to Naija discrimination nah....!
Zooposki: I don’t think a Northern ruler has committed genocide against South South people, just South West rulers, Obj and now Tinubu but I might be wrong though.
agbado wickedness is at another level........go figure!
gidgiddy: When you sign up to join the armed forces, you sign up to defend people, sometimes at the cost of your life. That's what you're trained, equiped, armed and paid for. In the battle against terrorism, insecurity and criminality, there will be casualties
However, when Soldiers go on revenge mission to kill and destroy communities where their comrades were killed, this is not only a crime, it is a war crime which the Nigerian constitution, the Rome statute and the Geneva convention are all against
Odi, Orlu, Awo-Mmamma, Izombe, Obigbo and many others, all in the south of Nigeria, the story is the same. The Nigerian Army, sometimes the Nigerian Police as well, will move into a community where their members were reportedly killed, start shooting at anything that moves, and burn down the place
Every week, Soldiers are killed in the North, but never have I heard that Soldiers attacked any community in the North. Just a few years ago, a serving Major General in the Nigerian Army, General Hassan Ahmed, was ambushed and killed by armed bandits in the North, nothing happened in the community
If that happened in the South, they would wipe out the community. Nobody is allowed to take the law into their hands. The Nigerian Army attacking communities in a revenge mission is a violation of the constitution and international law
Nigeria as presently constituted is a vassal state of the british monarchy..........the slave holding camp called "Niger area" is superintended by the sahelians called fulanis! the yorubas have been bribed by limited access to the UK for bragging rights in order to keep them pacified.....every other ethnic nation are "outliers" especially ndigbo!!
In summary ! Nigeria was designed to Keep the fulanis in power, to keep the yorubas down and to keep Ndigbo OUT! Simplicita!! Peter Obi had better understand this wella and go take care of his family!
ElSudani: Nonsense post. Why are some communities in the south so quick in killing soldiers and policemen and then turn around to blackmail the Army! This is wrong on so many levels, who said some of the soldiers are not from the communities where they were killed? We regularly see stories of policemen being roasted and eaten in some places, where is the outrage for God's sake?
If you know what is at stake in the niger delta...........you go know say a lot of intrigues maybe involved, ee no pass bunkering na........dollars will always be involved! Let us wait for details of what happened! Even as a layman,it sounds far fetched that upto 16 soldiers fell just on a peace mission. this was a full military confrontation,a wild and sustained firefight!
Lanretoye: Enugu-port harcourt-calabar-Abuja…useless people still come up with another propaganda, even when a child born since 1980 in the east has never seen a railway in the whole south east till today except he steps outside the east.them wan help their life now,dem Dey talk another thing.
The Enugu international airport terminal that was started nearly 12 years ago has not been commissioned uptill now, na railway line awarded to a kobo kobo mushin company we go place hope on? na craze dey worry you!
Zooposki: Tinubu should look into Tompolo’s contract.
The ijaw youth congress is the miyetti allah of the southern regions of Nigeria, they are on a mission to grab lands....Imagine mumu eastern governors hiring asari dokubo's so called special forces to kill igbo youth as far upland as Ihiala and Orlu.............If not for the simon ekpa;s boys IYC flags will have been flying at full mast in core Igboland! When the dust settles on the Biafra agitation crisis , the harm done by these savages will be revealed...........Thank God the violence has come down a bit..............Governement hiring these local mercenaries will cause a lot of problems going forward!
Tochitee: Our miserable tribe will say we don't need anything from our president! but inside their closet, they keeps on weeping their eyes out. Obi in his closet now will be dying of every opportunity to get close to appointment, but shishi he no go get. There is consequence for voting losers!
The same lethargic response the Romans came up with when the turks besieged Constantinople.........today that famed xtian city is now known as Ankara Turkey! Black negro man continue to slumber.......you have made it easier for the enemy!
I might not support the choice that the father made during elections, but I think he is a good father.
He had to put pride aside and desperately search for help.
I pray his child get the help.
People are really going through a lot, that's why I get annoyed when people still try to sugarcoat the situation in Nigeria today.
Our leaders must start working, enough of all the,we will,we shall,we are going to, please start doing something.
I likes Tinubu's idea of an Education Bank but we have not heard anything about that one since! If we had printed money to give loans to poor students,we for no too feel this stagflation and standard of education for improve, Establishing such a bank is the kind of work that enormously talented and workaholic Dr Oby Ezekwesili for handle wella!
Difrent: Spoken like a typical illiterate IPOB terrorist
I am sure your delicate intellectual stature will not stand the pressure when I descend on you! I wonder what level of education and exposure you misfits have sef! You cannot even tell the difference between a potent Fulani threat to a globally recognised Organisation that is in self defense mode! Daft black African and a coward to matters worse!
asha80: you got it the other way round for fridges..leaving it on from morning till night and switch it off at night when you want to sleep to put it on in the morning( that is if light is 24 hrs anyway)
I dunno about naija but the power tariff is cheaper in the evening and at night in yankee,
pquaver: Delusion.. Show us 1 rail in Anambra... Lagos has built blue line, redline and has moved to green.. Where is your obi's just 1? Abi rail no dey fit run for Anambra?
Whatever you are smoking must be very potent ! who is dragging rail with lagos..........I grew up in Lagos and my family owns 4 homes in Lagos, I do not know why you feel I should be unhappy cos Lagos go rail lines at last...........In fact it is overdue, how old were you when Jakande started the Lagos metroline project in 1980..............you people sef
Babalegba: You are too excited to label me a tribalist so you didn't read my post properly .lol. I wrote that the agitators are all miscreants and obviously that would include Igboho .They are all misguided dangerous rabble rousers and pose serious risk to lives and economic security of the country. If Igboho had faced only the fulani, he'd have been okay but his oduduwa republic rhetoric made him a miscreant. As for Kanu, nothing good will come out only violent deaths and economic destruction for the south east. Some other ijaw guys.are already starting their own from nairaland. Nothing good will come out of it. Peter obi is a bad choice for national leadership
You deliberately skipped the fulani invaders who are the immediate cause of the establishment of ESN and the yoruba nation activists........please do an honest and open minded review of the security crisis in Nigeria and apportion blame equitably ! Most Nigerians are unable to do this honestly because of sentiments and interests! Nnamdi Kanu is no saint but he loves his people way too much in my view, this pushes him into impulsive actions...............but has he not been vindicated?
aribisala0: You that knows business model go and build your own refinery and put Dangote to shame
Dangote refinery is a finacial shipwreck.......BUA has learnt from him, his refinery in akwa Ibom under construction is a manageable 150,000 barrels per day capacity! If you hate knowledge kindly go give a wet transformer the kiss of death!
Anybody that thinks The Great Igbo nation will leave Port Harcourt,Bonny ,Opobo,Ika nation,Anioma and Aboh in the event of a disintegration of Nigeria must be Drunk and suffering acute delirium at the same time!
The vandals dragging Igbo land all have enormous lands and territory, why they insist on having Igboland is beyond me, anyway too much talk no dey for evening mass! We will do unto you what Russia did to Ukraine in Bahkmut!
Ebubu2: Aba is on Lagos’s industrial level to be frank. 7years from now Aba industrial sector will overpower neighbouring Port Harcourt. Port Harcourt’s sole wealth is in god-given oil while Aba is in manufacturing.
Aba is on massive industrialization. Aba is phasing from Imu Oru (learning handwork such as shoes and tailoring under someone ), into commercialisation and industrialisation.
After Lagos, the next foreign investment location in Abia state.
Aba's production level dwarfs port harcourt even now.......unless you are talking of oil and gas? abi you no know Aba!
kettykin: I saw this write up in business day , I was too afraid to post it because the enemies of progress are louder than the friends of progress.
Any igbo man who doesn't relocate or buy a piece of land or landed property in Aba should save us the stress of listening to tales of his or her woes in the next few years
Anywhere between Port Harcourt and Aba is a goldmine........Tinubu is invested in the Onne port thru Intels , his Hitech company is doing the calabar Lagos coatal road that will go thru Onne, they can also do a spur to Hit EEC thru Afam/ Obigbo axis.............Every Nigerian should key into the project........The EEC is the closest thing Ndigbo will have to Lekki residential/duty free zone!
Nyamiriflathed: Patriotic indeed. Same people calling their country a zoo all over social media. Same people that gave us the likes of Nnamdi Kanu, Simon Ekpa, UGM, IPOB, ESN e.t.c
please do not insult our self respecting zoos....keeping the world's flora and fauna alive!
emkz: A Nigerian based in Canada, Kayode Stephen, has been accused of defrauding several people of millions of naira under the pretext of getting them certificates of sponsorship for care jobs in the United Kingdom.
Depriest2020: Creating unnecessary enemies for the good Igbo people. Educated and literate Igbos don't indulge in things like this.
I don't know why half baked educated Igbos like this poster have vowed to bring troubles to the good Igbo people of Nigeria.
Words like this causes others to despise, loathe, detest, abhor your people, it also brings disdain, disparagement, denigration, opprobrium to your people.
Why are the illiterate amongst you quick to rush to the net to post things that brings contempt to your people.
If others are hungry why rob it to their face and mock them. Even if you think a people made mistakes electing their choice of president, why not allow them rue their mistake in peace.
who told you he is Igbo, you do not know nairaland o!
delpee: Pastor Kumuyi is right. The Bible teaches us to always care for the poor, the fatherless, widows and orphans. It also teaches us to care for the sick and those in prison. Pastors should focus on this as much as they dwell on tithing.
Is that not what the tithe is supposed to be for.........a third of your tithe is to go to the church, a third of your tithe should go to the poor, widows, infirm and prisoners, and final third should be used to make merry with your wife and family and household! That is the Biblical formular before pentecostal churchianity took 100% of all tithes plus more sef!
Even as a layman, I can see clearly that there is something deficient or even wrong with Dangote's business model........This refinery is a 650,000 barrels per day refinery! how are they going to keep the refinery running 100% of the time if they are buying 2million barrels on the international market ONLY per month! ( that will barely last 3 days of refining)........even if he gets 2 million barrels per week from NNPC ( Tinubu no gree to sell to Dangote on credit nor in naira)...........that is just 14 days of full production in a month, how is he going to pay back his loans at that rate of production! Dangote may have entered one chance with this his mega project!
For 14 days of production he needs : 14 X 650,000 equals 9,100,000 barrels multiplied (by crude oil price) $84 i.e. $764 million dollars
Dangote needs close to $800 million dollars to service his refinery for only 2 weeks of full production? I wish him well its not easy to be a billlionaire............dangote is heavily over leveraged right now! Tinubu will not mortgage naija's finances to bail him out!
To keep the refinery busy and making money he had better get refiners from all over the world that can use his refinery to process their own crude................there is no fulani uncle to bail him out with our commonwealth! Karma is a bitch indeed!
