TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by agabusta: 5:25pm On Apr 14
mrbourdillon:
Hello House. I have a confirmed TLS appointment for May but I need to change the France-Visas application that is linked to it. I tried to delete the TLS appointment and create a new one but the TLS site won’t let me. I called TLS yesterday and today. They keep saying the site is down, that I should check back tomorrow or I should call the embassy.

Has anyone been in this position? What would you suggest?

I can’t use the current France-visas that is tied to the appointment because travel plans have significantly changed (travel dates etc).
Good thing that the site did not allow you. It should continue like that. Otherwise, that is how some people will commercialize the appointments and bastardize the process like they did to the US visa appointments. Using different applications to tie down appointment slots and then now changing the application tied to the appointment when there is a willing buyer.

My 2 cents: cancel the appointment, cancel the application and start afresh. TLS site is up as of today.

People just dont understand that "Eze Ndigbo" is just a cultural title. There is nothing political about it. Although Eze Ndigbo translates as King of Igbos, the holder is no King, and is just a cultural leader of an Igbo community in diaspora

Enemies of the Igbo nation have turned what is purely a cultural thing, to mean a political thing, and in the process, caused unnecessary problems. They tried to paint Eze Ndigbo Ghana as someone seeking political control in Ghana, now they have tried to do the same in South Africa. A purely cultural title. I tell my fellow Igbos that you are surrounded by enemies in Nigeria, and the earlier Igbos get their own seperate independent country out of Nigeria, the better for all Igbos

Its terrible
Why not simply President of Igbo Association in China or Japan or wherever?

Iran denies Trump's claim it requested ceasefire, calling it 'false and baseless'

https://www.bbc.com/news/live/c36r5p1l7w3t

Summary

Iran's foreign ministry says Donald Trump's claim that the country has asked for a ceasefire is "false and baseless", Iranian state media reports

Earlier, in a Truth Social post, the US president said Iran's "new regime president" had made the request - but he didn't clarify who he was referring to

Trump said the US would consider a ceasefire "when Hormuz Strait is open, free, and clear. Until then, we are blasting Iran into oblivion or, as they say, back to the Stone Ages!!!"

The president also says he's considering leaving Nato - but an act passed in 2023 means it would not be straighforward

In London, Prime Minister Keir Starmer says the UK will host a meeting with dozens of countries this week on the Strait of Hormuz

Oil prices fell back below $100 (£75) a barrel earlier - meanwhile, new strikes are reported in Iran and Israel, and the number of people reported killed in Lebanon passes 1,300

Iran’s president urges Americans to reject ‘propaganda’ on Iran, calls US Israel's proxy

Pezeshkian said that Iran has never initiated war in modern history, and urged the American people to consider whether their interests are really served in the war.

Updated: APRIL 1, 2026 22:41
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian released a message addressed to the American people on Wednesday, asserting that Iran holds no hostility toward US citizens.

In the statement, Pezeshkian said that Iran, despite experiencing “occupation, aggression and pressures imposed by global powers,” has never initiated war in modern history, but rather has only pushed back against aggressors.

Any portrayal of Iran as a threat is neither consistent with historical nor contemporary reality, and is only created for other countries to justify pressure, maintain military superiority, and manage strategic markets, Pezeshkian wrote.

Iran has no enmity with other nations’ peoples, including those of Gulf states, the US, and Europe. Iran’s military buildup and operations have all been “only reaction and defense” against US aggression and the buildup of US forces in the region, according to the message.

Pezeshkian presented the history of the US-Iran relationship as one of peace until 1953, when US intervention “halted the process of democracy, restored dictatorship, and created distrust in the minds of Iranians towards US policies.”

Despite the imposition of extensive sanctions and direct military actions against Iran, the country has only grown in strength, with the literacy rate tripling, technologies advancing, health services expanding, and infrastructure strengthening, Pezeshkian said, urging the public to ignore "media propaganda."

War counter to US interests, Pezeshkian says

Pezeshkian also urged the American people to consider whether their interests are really served in the war.

“Does the massacre of innocent children, the destruction of cancer pharmaceutical centers, or the exaggeration of bombing a nation back to the Stone Age have any benefit other than further damaging America's global image?” Pezeshkian wrote.

Pezeshkian further claimed that the US is acting as a “proxy force for Israel,” and that the war had started because Israel had “decided to fight Iran to the last American soldier.”

“Is 'America First' truly on the list of priorities of the US government today?” Pezeshkian asked.

Pezeshkian accused the US of committing war crimes by attacking Iran’s critical infrastructure, warning that the consequences would spread beyond Iran’s borders and that attacking such targets was a sign of US confusion and the inability to find a lasting solution.

"Iran will weather the conflict, and the US must choose between confrontation and engagement," Pezeshkian added.

"Iran has faced many aggressors throughout its thousands of years of glorious history. All that is left of them is their shameful name in history, and Iran still stands proud,” he concluded.

BBC Report: Who is Masoud Pezeshkian?

Reformist Masoud Pezeshkian was elected president of the Islamic Republic of Iran in July 2024, beating his conservative rival in a run-off vote.

He's a trained heart surgeon and was previously chancellor of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences in north-western Iran. shocked

He joined the cabinet of former reformist President Mohammad Khatami as Iran's health minister in 2001, a post he held until 2005.

After Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in a US-Israeli air strike on 28 February, in accordance with the constitution, Pezeshkian became a member of Iran's interim leadership until Khamenei's son Mojtaba succeeded his father as supreme leader in early March.

Pezeshkian has appeared in public in recent days, according to Iranian outlets. He was last seen on Tuesday at a pro-establishment rally.

While the president heads the government, there is also a parallel government in the form of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Several high-ranking IRGC commanders have been killed during the war. However, officials have repeatedly said that for every person lost, a replacement is ready to take their place.

TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by agabusta: 9:06am On Apr 01
giselle237:
They will review the last form. Even if you did not provide proof, the records are there once you submit your biometrics.
The visit visa form usually requests the name and date of birth of your spouse and children if you mention you have those.

On the new form, the child/dependent section can be left blank or ignored (i.e., you simply do not mention any dependants). However, on the partner/spouse section, it is very likely to flag because you previously entered a name and date of birth. You would then need to explain the change in details… for example, by stating the previous marriage was a traditional marriage that was later dissolved etc, and that you are now married to a new spouse. This can be tricky, depending on how far apart the two submissions are.
If you also say it was dissolved, you must present proof of what you are saying otherwise they will not allow this application as it is strictly a one man, one wife country.
If the forms were submitted close together, for instance, if last month you listed Nkechi Tinubu as your wife, and this month you state you have been married to Hadiza Jonathan for one year, then the flags again show everything is inconsistent and the holes in your story will be picked apart.
They will then tear down this relationship to prove it is genuine and subsisting and to make sense of what has happened to the previous spouse…. I hope you understand.
It'll only ask for name(s) of child(ren) if you listed them as dependents. If you answer negative to dependents, that aspect of the form to enter their details will not prop up.

Not all African proverbs are totally sensible. Including the bolded. What if your father's house doesn't feel like home to you, you're just barely surviving. Wouldn't you find a way out to a better accommodation or home?
Same scenario applies to these Naija folks seeking a way out of this unprecedented economic misery that APC has plunged Nigeria into.

Well, as per this visitor visa thing I almost fell for it out of desperation early last year. It was actually Schengen visa opportunity. I was advised not to go for it as my travel would not be secure since I was not likely coming back.

And just so you know, not everyone who goes abroad on VV indulges in illegal ventures, some, if not most, goes there for clean, honest hustle.
Of course, African proverbs propounded by Elders of old who are full of wisdom hardly makes sense to shallow thinkers.

Towing your skewed analogy, so finding a better accommodation to your father's house is by illegal means right? Because you do not like your father's house, you carry yourself to another person's house, lying that you just want to visit for few days whereas you want to be living there permanently. Does that make any sense?? The owner of the house reserves the right to kick you out!

You guys should call a spade a spade!

Stop abusing Visitor visa privileges. It is fraudulent! As simple as ABC, either you engage in illegal activity or not over there, you said you want to visit, do your visit and come back to your house. Trying to emigrate on visitor's visa is misrepresentation, lying and obtaining approval under false pretense, it's no different to 419.

We have no ethics and morality here, that is why you can open your mouth to be saying bla bla bla of not indulging in illegal activity. And it is these abuses of visitor visas that is making it increasingly difficult to obtain visitor's visas to these countries.

You better don't try to jaapa on visitor visa. Times have changed. Asides that you are engaging in illegality, you'll be miserable over there and may eventually find yourself back here with nothing.

AI Overview
Based on search results up to March 2026, it is false that the current Pakistan Prime Minister has recently refused to sign a document to take back illegal Pakistanis from the UK.

In fact, Pakistan and the UK signed a major agreement in 2022 to return foreign criminals and immigration offenders from the UK to Pakistan, which was renewed and supported with a Letter of Intent in May 2024.

Key Details regarding Pakistan-UK Readmission Agreements:
Active Agreements: Pakistan has a functional agreement with the UK for the repatriation of Pakistani nationals with no legal right to remain in Britain, including criminals and failed asylum seekers.
AI Overview
Based on available information, there is no evidence that the Indian Prime Minister refused to sign a document to take back illegal Indians in the UK. Instead, official records show that Indian nationals, including those in the UK, are being deported through existing cooperation mechanisms.

Deportation Statistics: According to the Ministry of External Affairs, hundreds of Indian nationals have been deported from the UK in recent years.

Continued Cooperation: Data from 2020–2025 shows ongoing cooperation between India and the UK regarding the return of citizens.

In international law, asylum claim is a legal partway for any country that is signatory to that chatter.
Why didn't Indian and Pakistani Prime ministers sign same documents, so we understand international laws than those governments??
It is a stupidity to our governments. The Labour government is just using that to play politics and appeal to Reform voters.
Why didn't they send those documents for our own legislative arm of government to study it first, or even Stamer visit or one of them come to Nigeria on a visit to sign it. Why them drag the guy go UK 🇬🇧 go sign documents he was to sign in Nigeria.
No one told you asylum is not legal. However, your asylum claim requires approval to scale through. Not all asylum claims/filing are approved. Quite a huge number are refused!

If your asylum claim is not approved, go back to your country. As simple as ABC. You can carry out your appeal from there. The country has given you enough privilege. It reeks of a high level of irresponsibility for you to be angry that your country agreed to accepts its illegals and convicted citizens in another country. I'm highly embarrassed with this opinion from our country men. If the tables were reversed and it was other nationals like Ghana, Indians, Chinese and Lebanese living illegally in Nigeria or convicted of crimes you'll will be huffing and fuming.

Implications of India’s consent to take back ‘illegal Indians’ living in Britain

An estimated 100,000 Indians are allegedly living in Britain illegally, according to the British Home office. India has now agreed to take them back and facilitated a crackdown on them by Britain

More foreign criminals to be deported under expanded scheme
More foreign criminals will be deported before their appeals against their removal are heard as the Home Office adds 15 new countries to its "deport now, appeal later" scheme.

The policy allows the government to send foreigners who commit crimes in the UK back to their home countries before they can appeal against the decision.

The scheme's new countries, including Canada, India and Australia, bring the total to 23 - nearly three times more than the original eight, with the Home Office saying more could follow in the future.

Home Secretary Yvette Cooper says expansion of the scheme is to prevent foreign criminals from "exploiting our immigration system" and "fast-track" their removals.

If you want to emigrate, do it legally and you'll not have any issues. We should endeavour to be law-abiding and detest anyhowness that has given us a negative name all over the world.

It is most common here in Nigeria for people to do the wrong thing and others will turn a blind eye because they are friends or relative with the person. That is part of the reason for our level of decadence. Selective justice, the brother of nepotism.

An average person who does not even believe in God in these Western countries will not blink twice to call out a friend or relative that does anything contrary to regulations, law and orderliness. Here in Nigeria, a religious leader will be encouraging people to abuse their visitor visa. An obvious illegal act. Visa gotten through false pretense, in other words, through lying that you just want to visit and come back. When will Nigerian religious leaders start calling out people that lied to travel abroad and still went over there to lie just to claim asylum? That is why no one respects us! We are a country of liars including so called pastors.

This is the simple reason their society is more civilized and sane and we will keep running there. And we now want to carry over our detest for rule of law and orderliness over there? No nahhhh, it doesn't make sense and we shouldn't support that no matter who is involved. If you travel with a visitor visa and you try to stay put, they should deport such a person after all due process speedily. It is those irresponsible people that is making it hard for other law-abiding and genuine visitors to secure visa to travel abroad and see the world.

I have questions for pro-IRGC madness. Let’s say Iran destroys Saudi, Qatar and UAE;

What would be their relationship with these nations afterwards? They’re Persians and the others are Arabs.
How would they rebuild their nation in complete isolation?
If their hope is China and Russia do they believe it would be done for free?
The Arabs chose civilization and modernization over radicalism, but trust me after this war all Arab countries will enter the arms race and I hope Iran would be happy with a heavily militarized Middle East, then they wouldn’t need the US to destroy them.

Arabs are royalty and would never take orders on the type of Islam to practice from Persian mullahs… NEVER! They love luxury and affluence!
So what do you suggest they do? When their closeness to those guys in religion and culture is being disregarded for USD. What do you suggest they do even as they are being attacked from the territories of the GCC?
