Alaafin of Oyo - Chief of Army Staff of Yoruba land

Who then is the Commander in Chief of both? Could it be Olubadan, Awujale of Ijebu land abi Alake of Egba land? shocked
A lot of those thrones were established by rogue expeditionary military commanders who became very powerful and decided to establish their own kingdom rather than defer to where they came from.

History will always be kind to Ooni as it is generally regarded as the cradle.

Russia has not faced a total defeat in history and its not happening anytime soon. Though they've had some military setbacks here and there.

You'd be dreaming to think a total Russian defeat is going to happen in this life time. They are as lethal and potent as the strongest countries in this age and time.

Any seemingly military defeat will activate the dead hand.

As long as the fighting continues, those lands will be returned to Ukraine in due time... .. including Crimea

And a legitimate referendum will be held for the people of Eastern Ukraine to choose if they want to be part of Ukraine or Russia

Not the Sham that Putin and his Ûrchins conducted years ago ..

Let the fighting continue
Land won by blood and battle is not easily given up. Have you heard of Kaliningrad before?

It is a Russian city in the Baltics. Kalingrad is separated from geographical Russia by a number of countries. Kalingrad gives Russia a strategic greater presence in the Baltic sea.

Guess what? The city was previously German and was known as Königsberg. It was taken over by the USSR/Russians during the 2nd world war, its name was changed and has remained a Russian enclave till date even though it is not continuous with the main geographical Russia.

Just like this Kalingrad, Crimea has strategic importance in the black sea. Total defeat of Russia is the only way they'll ever give up that place. That will not be happening anytime soon.

Putin is lucky Donald Trump is President.

Joe Biden never spoke to him when he started the invasion of Ukraine

Sleepy Joe was ready for War and the collapse of the Putin regime.

Donald Trump is only sympathetic about the plight of the weak Russian military and economy hence he is calling both sides to the negotiation table...

In a million years, there is no way Russia can defeat Ukraine that is fully backed by NATO

If NATO grants the permission to Ukraine to fire deep inside Russia, Moscow and St Petersburg would be rubbles in a week..

NATO countries are actively containing the war within Ukraine and Russia territories and that game plan is working perfectly

But Zelensky was saying yesterday that Ukraine will not concede any territory to Russia and will keep fighting. We shall see where he'll get weapons from because I'm sure Trump now knows that the war is an America's misadventure, a miscalculated mistake and needs to stop. He'll most likely do a deal with Putin when they meet in Alaska on Friday.

Europe is broke and can't really do much to keep supporting Ukraine. There's discontent amongst Ukrainian citizens who also are desperate for a deal and wants the war to end, there's also discontent among the political class in Ukraine who also wants the same thing but Zelensky vows to keep fighting. With what exactly? Spears, donkeys, swords and catapults?
His problem is not only that of weapons. They are also having manpower shortages. This is more critical.

Revised Visa Reciprocity Policy for Nigeria

https://ng.usembassy.gov/revised-visa-reciprocity-policy-for-nigeria/

July 8, 2025

Abuja, July 8, 2025 – The United States Department of State has announced updates to its reciprocal non-immigrant visa policy, impacting several countries, including Nigeria. Effective immediately, most non-immigrant and non-diplomatic visas issued to citizens of Nigeria will be single-entry visas with a three-month validity period.

Those U.S. non-immigrant visas issued prior to July 8, 2025, will retain their status and validity. We wish to underscore, that as is standard globally, visa reciprocity is a continuous process and is subject to review and change at any time, such as increasing or decreasing permitted entries and duration of validity. You can view the latest information on visa reciprocity schedules for all countries at travel.state.gov.

U.S. visa criteria and standards are designed to protect the integrity of U.S. immigration systems. These standards are based on global technical and security benchmarks. The U.S. Mission is working with the Government of Nigeria to ensure that Nigeria can meet the criteria.

Examples of standard criteria include:

Secure Travel Documents: Ensuring countries issue secure travel documents with verified traveler identities.
Visa Overstay Management: Implementing measures to limit overstays by travelers on U.S. visas.
Information Sharing: Sharing relevant security and/or criminal record information to protect public safety.
The United States values its longstanding relationship with Nigeria and remains committed to expanding our partnership based on mutual respect, shared security priorities, and economic opportunity, keeping both our countries safer and stronger. We commend the ongoing efforts by the Government of Nigeria’s immigration and security agencies to meet standards of international best practices. We continue to engage with Nigerian government officials to address the remaining challenges.

Nigerian travelers are encouraged to respect and adhere to the terms of their visas, and ensure travel documents are authentic, accurate, and up to date. The United States remains a committed partner in deepening people-to-people ties with Nigeria via business, educational, and cultural exchanges. We look forward to continued cooperation at all levels with the Nigerian public and government officials to ensure safe and lawful travel between the United States and all countries.

dont waste your time with the guy, he is not intelligent at all. i showed an example of a govt gazette to show that when govt acuires land using the example of the land for Unilag in 1962, they will gazette it. The uneducated kindergarten started arguing that the federal govt acquired the Unilag land from lagos state. wheras the gazette clearly stated that that 1)Yaba was then under federal territory of Lagos and secondly there was no lagos state in 1962! they say if you want to hide something from a Nigerian put it in writing. I eventually blocked him. i just happened to see his name at the beginng of your post. you are engaging someone with a block of wood between his ears!

land owned by the federal government is not under the jurisdiction of the state government. It is only when they sell the land that it falls under the jurisdiction of the state Govt. This is why when the Federal govt sells you federal owned land outside Abuja they will issue a federal c0f O, you have to go to the state govt to regularise and obtain a state CofO.

49. Exemption with respect to Federal Government lands, etc. Return to Main
Menu
(1) nothing in this Act shall affect any title to land whether developed or undeveloped
held by the Federal Government or any agency of the Federal Government at the
commencement of this Act and, accordingly, any such land shall continue to vest in the
Federal Government or the agency concerned.

(2) In this section, "agency" includes any statutory corporation or any other statutory
body (whether corporate or unincorporated) or any company wholly-owned by the
Federal Government.

Ikeja GRA is government reserved Area which means the land was acquired by the govt. if you bought land in any area called GRA based on a pre government-acquisition cancelled title, that sale is invalid. Any sale of land in GRA post acquisition by the govt and post 1978 must start with a CofO.
Detailed. Well done

You've hit the nail on the head.

Its even more glaring in all these land matters.

Going back to this land issue. How can people be so dishonest and be reselling land they earlier sold or be selling land that does not belong to them or want to criminally take over land that does not belong to them.

I don't think any other country experiences all these plenty land issues like Nigeria. Its a reflection of the kind of people that we have as majority here.

And its not an ethnic issue. Its all over. Most especially the southern part of the country.

Even in the court, land case will take 30/40 years. Which kind of justice is that?

You buy land, you want to develop, thugs will show face and demand illegal levy. You report to police, they won't do anything as they are also compromised. Report to the local chief, nothing will happen as they are also compromised. We are a major problem to ourselves! Through our greed and dishonest behaviour.

Nigerians are very corrupt and untrustworthy people. We can hardly do anything transactional without the tendency to cheat and manipulate. That's why the country is just the way it is. An average Nigerian will abuse his office, steal and commit all sorts of misconducts just by been privileged to occupy the office.
We always think life is about "smartness" and cheating people to our own glory but its not. Our country continues dwindle with the more desperate we become.
Apt.

This is the main issue of this country. I laugh when people just naively say it is the leaders! Whereas, the so called leaders are not from another planet but from us.

The average Nigerian is always looking at ways to dishonestly outsmart the other person.

PS: Note that you have contradicted yourself - because if the so called FG C-OF-O was valid, why would anyone then go to convert it to a state C-OF -O?
The fellow below provided the answers you seek

The Land Use Act recognises that the Federal Government owns land.

LAND USE ACT 1978

49. Exemption with respect to Federal Government lands, etc.

(1) Nothing in this Act shall affect any title to land, whether developed or undevel-
oped, held by the Federal Government or any agency of the Federal Government at the

body (whether corporate or unincorporate) or any company wholly owned by the Federal Government.

https://faolex.fao.org/docs/pdf/nig67625.pdf

There are also many other laws that allow the Federal Government to own land.

I can tel you for free what has happened here being familiar with a family land dispute involving Ibadan land registry.

1:The land was originally owned by a family and acquired by the federal govt at some point probably before independence or 1960-1970 and was used to house a high ranking federal civil servant.

2: Federal govt later sold the land to Mrs olorulogbon in 2003 in line with its monetisation program.

3: land scammers (possibly the or in conjunction with the original owners of the land or those knowing its history) in collusion with Ibadan land registry agents the sold the land to Obi his proxy in 2011.

Let me make it clear to all people. The Federal govt inefficient as they are keep meticulous records, they will never sell that for which they have no record of ownership. For the federal govt to sell land to someone it means they have the records of their legitimate ownership.

5: Obi bought the land from individuals using fake records in the ibadan land registry since the land was once under the jurisdiction of the western region headquartered in Ibadan. BTW this is also evidence for those who did not know that Ikeja was not part of Lagos until 1967 but the western region.

6. Ibadan land registry is notorious for land scams. I was shocked when I presented my father’s title documents registered at the Ibadan land registry only to find someone had another “valid” registered title for a larger plot of land that encapsuled buy fathers land.

Governors consent means nothing, Cof O also means nothing! They only matter if the land is uncontested. When a land is contested then the original ownership of the land is what matters, the chain of sale, who sold to whom and the whether who sold to you had ownership of the land when he sold to you.

I will bet on the person who bought her land from the federal govt!
You really know your onions. Clear educative post devoid of sentiments and emotions.
