Each side is just doing enough to discourage full outbreak of hostilities. The US president requires the full approval of the congress before going into all out war. Seeking such approval and not getting is a political disaster. That is why they are just doing enough to make the Iranians cave and bend to their wishes.

Same way the Iranians are just doing enough to discourage the US from attempting full invasion. They are making them realize there is a cost implication in that as well. Some people on this thread are saying Trump chickened out of the plan, they refused to read the post that said he was begged by the leaders of Qatar and UAE to hold off on the attacks. Nobody begged him. He's just using that as a cover. They've not gotten the element of surprise they require. They want to strike at the least unexpected time to achieve the best results, but Iran has been in a continual state of readiness, hence the reluctance of the US and her partners.

That is what you want to believe. In an open confrontation, Iran won't dare to do that to all these countries. If they really want to fight Iran, it won't take much time to bring Iran to her knees before it can do real damage.

So what is stopping them?? Despite that Iran attacked them? Despite that Iran is bleeding their resources through its closure of the Strait of Homuz.

It is because Iran has leverage, it can inflict pain on their oil economy and trigger an internal unrest in these countries. These countries do not have any potent offensive military. Their military are more of a security arrangement to protect the Monarchy and entrench them in power. Their military are not home grown but furnished with equipment from the US, and cannot endure any long-term military confrontation.

Iran alone is like x3 of the indigenous population of all the GCC combined, and mind you, some have soft spot for Iran. Most of their population are foreigners who are unreliable in a war of survival. Their entire wealth is based on the oil industry, which can be destroyed in conflict with Iran.

Iran will have to start their nuclear program all over as most of their nuclear sites have been hit
Critical facilities that made up Iran's economy were hit. Iran's economy had been crippled.
Their military prowess had been badly decimated. No naval fleet again, no Airforce and scores of IRGC Commanders killed.
So stop saying the bombardments didn't achieve any purpose

The economy is not crippled. If it is crippled, why is there a blockade again? You said you have cripped someone, and you are still there enforcing a blockage. That is contradictory. If the economy is crippled, that means nothing is happening and there will be no need for a blockage.

If their military prowess has been badly decimated, then what are the marines waiting for?? Why can't they just go in and take out the nuclear material??

If there is no Naval capability, how come Iran is still able to maintain a stranglehold on the Hormuz Strait?

The bombardment has not achieved any strategic victory. Iran is still very much potent military-wise and still has the oil economy of the world choked.

Their nuclear materials are not yet destroyed. So what exactly was the strategic result of the bombardment? The killing of old men, who have now been replaced with younger folks??
