Paul Edwards, head of the political section of the British High Commission has led a team on a courtesy call on the leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Asokoro, Abuja.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, national leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), has called for Nigerian-American cooperation in counter-terrorism, corruption and strengthening of democratic institutions.

Speaking when Ms Tamara Klajn, a staff member of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee visited him in Lagos, Asiwaju Tinubu said America should help Nigeria strengthen its capacity in these vital areas in order to build democracy and spread development and prosperity.

Bola Tinubu received visitors from US Embassy in Lagos.

The meeting held at the Freedom House, the Lagos office of a National leader of the All Progressives Congress.

Sesan2: Maybe the committee members were concerned that any failure, on her part, to answer questions satisfactorily will later be blamed (by her) on ill-health. Although the man was talking about her possibly collapsing, they could have given her the benefits of the doubt and go on with the interview; since she said she was ready (and well enough) to answer the questions (especially if the session was being televised and the world would have seen and heard how she responded). If at any point during the session they felt she was not up to it (health-wise), they could advise her to go and take a rest and reply in writing to the rest of the questions or come back at a later date.

In any case, there was no need for the man to shout at her and treat her like a school girl, which I feel he did - he did not even allow her to speak. If the man felt he wanted to stick to his guns he could do it calmly and firmly. You can be courteous and firm at he same time.

I know many Nigerians can be passionate when they speak/argue about what they believe in but you have to draw the line between being passionate and being rude.

The man was rude in this case. The woman deserves an apology.

The committee chairman obviously overreacted.. NOI telling them she isn't feeling fine is just to give them heads up that she wouldn't be taking all the questions personally as she came with aides and colleagues from the ministry of finance...

Though the Soft landing given to her by the Committee chairman is cool. the chairman should've let her make a general presentation on the state of the economy and maybe answer a few questions since the whole thing is live on national TV. and send her the questions later.

Hearing should be an interactive session. Which is usually more detailed and convincing than written answers.

Mr. chairman shouldn't have raised his voice the way he did. it's disrespectful and will warrant questions on his "ulterior motives"

She claimed she is indisposed, they didnt bother her, they told her to come back when she is better, and then she did a 360 only to claim she can handle it now. Does she think those people in the committee are indecisive like GEJ? She can control the president for all we care, the national assembly is not tied to her apron.

The Minister came telling them she was sick and they gave her the option to come back in two week's time. She turned around trying to make her case after she had been excused. What type of minister is that?

Ibos are always portraying themselves as victims. This is very sad to be dealing with people who cry like piglets each time they put them where they belong.

The Honorable members haven't done anything wrong. The minister was just trying to play the victim card as usual.
