drnoel: Yes, I agree but it will not be meant to carry loads like someone here mentioned market women with their big baskets of pepper.
Common sense should tell you that this is for human transportation and not cargo transportation, there are other modes for that.

Is it just too hard for you people to rise above your destined village mentality and way of life?

teskyg: Its Unnecessary to hurled insult @ others who expressed their Opinion.I just rode through Keffi and peep into the BRT park. Please ride around Ikoyi and VI anytime it rains. We are not blinded by propaganda.I still repeat that Cable transport is another White Elephant project. We lack so many basic Amenities in Lagos.Until some of this issues are adressed, they will soon be proposing Helicopter and Yatch transport service. We stay in Lagos and for the Governor to reeled out those statistics on Water transport is disturbing.
It's a capitalist economy and it's not up to you to decide to any private investor what and where to invest their money and unlike you ignorant losers, they did their research not only before they invest their money, they also convinced the banks with their sound research and business plan before securing bank loans for the project.

What you villagers need is education instead of running your mouth about issues that are well above your village understanding.

Gbawe: Bruv, the height is dependent on clearance and the path of the line. It can be very high or not necessarily so. Like Agbameta said, you get used to it. I have ridden on the one below and it is no big deal. Rather pleasant and scenic way to travel actually.

Illiterate, this is a private investment and private project with private financing?

Doppelmayr is the best in the business, they built the emirates cable car system in London and they are going to build and maintain the one in Lagos, not Fashola or Lagos state government.

City That Loves Mass Transit Looks to the Sky for More

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/29/us/29tram.html?_r=0

The future of public transport is above us

There is now though a new option open to them. It has a lower cost, high passenger throughput capacity and is quicker to deliver. Enter the cable car.

Since the Emirates Air Line cable car opened in June 2012 it has carried almost two million passengers between the Greenwich Peninsula and the Royal Victoria Dock in East London. The system is the first of its kind in the UK and demonstrates the possibilities of cable cars as an additional form of urban transport.

In other cities around the world, such as in South America, cable cars have been used for years as feeder systems, freeing up roadways and removing the need for car and bus journeys into city centres. It is only now that the UK is waking up to the opportunities presented by cable cars.http://www.lexology.com/library/detail.aspx?g=cfa2d03b-4d2b-420a-aa80-7b9bbf82d88d

New public transport idea for Austin, Texas has high hopes

In 2008, two Algerian cities -- Skikda and Tlemcen -- added cable-propelled gondolas to their public

Two cabins make the run at fifteen-minute intervals from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. (3:30 a.m. on weekends) and continuously during rush hours. It is one of the few forms of mass transit in New York City not run by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority

In November 2010, New York City's iconic aerial tramway returns. Opened in May 1976, the Tram was the first aerial tramway system in the world to be used for urban mass transportation. It has been carrying over 2 million passengers per year for the past 34 years despite its original projected lifetime of 17 years. It was created as a temporary solution while subway service to Roosevelt Island was decades delayed and now it has been modernized, streamlined, and readied to serve New York City commuters and sightseers for the next thirty years.

The understanding here is the fact that only GEJ supporters are getting all the imaginary non stop power supply even when it's basic common sense that Nigeria as country is not currently equipped in terms of power generation and transmission to do such thing.

Power generation back in 2007 was 3000MW

Power generation since Aug 2013 is 2,628.6MW

Are you moving forward or backward?

Right now, we have power supply load shedding all over the country, but these jokers are siting on the internet spewing lies and fantasies ...

Does the country of airline origin meet all 8 ICAO safety parameters? If yes TWO stars are awarded to the airline. If 5 to 7 of the criteria are met one star is awarded. If the country only meets up to four criteria no star is given
What is ICAO and what are the 8 parameters? The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) was created to promote the safe and orderly development of international civil aviation throughout the world. It sets standards and regulations necessary for aviation safety, security, efficiency and regularity, as well as for aviation environmental protection. The 8 ICAO audit parameters that pertain to safety are; Legislation, Organzation, Licensing, Operations, Airworthiness, Accident Investigation, Air Navigation Service and Aerodromes. For more information on a particular country
visit http://www.icao.int/safety/Pages/USOAP-Results.aspx.

Is the airline FAA endorsed? If yes a full star is awarded; if not, no star is given.
What is FAA endorsement? In the United States, the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) has a list that bans countries (not airlines) from flying into American Airspace. The ban arises from a deemed inability to adhere to international aviation standards for aircraft operations and maintenance.

CAA Safety and Airspace Regulation Group

The role of the CAA’s Safety and Airspace Regulation Group (SARG) is to ensure that UK civil aviation standards are set and achieved in a co-operative and cost-effective manner. The CAA must satisfy itself that aircraft are properly designed, manufactured, operated and maintained; that airlines are competent; that flight crews, air traffic controllers and aircraft maintenance engineers are fit and competent that licensed aerodromes are safe to use and that air traffic services and general aviation activities meet required safety standards.
