Alright. First off, thank you so much for always being available to help people here. Well done!

That said, I found myself chuckling reading through your response to my post. I couldn't help find it funny. I don't think you actually understood my problem. My fault for not expressing myself better.

If you "Google" the following terms "ustraveldocs nigeria rate limit cloudflare", you'll understand better the problem I HAD.

What happens (I explain in detail in case this is useful to someone else in future), is that the USTRAVELDOCS (cgi) website uses Cloudflare to protect against bots. So when you visit the site too many times in a single day (in my case it was in search of better dates, so we were changing DHL location), it thinks you're (using) a bot and then blocks you for some time.

Some say it blocks you for a few hours, up to 72. So when I called the cgi helpdesk, they told me to wait four hours. I waited longer, no show, same problem. I sent them an email, they gave the same advice in the response ticket. So I decided to wait 72 hours. Yesterday (Friday 26 July) I got impatient and didn't wait till this morning (which would have been 72 hours), and bam, "You are being rate limited!". Frustrating! So what did I do?

I called cgi helpdesk again (+234-0-2012278955). By the way, I think they deliberately try to discourage you from waiting with all their plenty messages, but I waited. They pick fast enough. The lady began with the same advice. I let her finish and then told her they had been telling me that by email and phone for more than one week. She repeated the same... like she was reading from a script (thought not unkindly). When she was done, I gently and slowly repeated that I had tried all those. It was important to reel out to her everything I tried, because those are the things they advise:

- I used a different browser
- I used a different computer
- I waited 4 hours
- I waited 72 hours (this last one was not quite true because the last time I waited only 48 hours plus).
and oh, I added to her that "I am not using a VPN"... because the site blocks you if you use a VPN.

... then guess what she did? She did something I had been told by a previous agent that they are NOT ABLE to do from their end...

Right there on the phone she helped me complete the booking, so we have a confirmed appointment and date now.

So I'm good now.

So bro, thanks again, and I hope my long epistle helps someone in a similar situation.

1. Your narration is pitiful but i sensed you are still not doing something right. Have you been denied VISA before ? Or you are a first timer but you mistakenly clicked on previously denied while booking appointment?

2. You could not have tried all those stunts and even called the CGI help-line and not have gotten solution. For clarification, below is CGI website where you will book the appointment...

3. Click on login according to the attached and login your username and password on the 2nd opening and click on New Appointment after login. Perhaps you might need someone with more computer operational idea.

Please do you know any "agent" that can help a relative get an interview date?

I know I can do it myself and have been trying to for days without success. The person is applying for an F1 Visa. We have filled DS-160 and have completed the ustraveldocs (cgi) forms. We have paid the SEVIS fee. But we can't choose a date. Reason? we kept getting blocked by Cloudflare with the "You are being rate limited (1015) message".

I have written to cgi. I have talked to them on phone. I have followed all the advice they gave: wait a few hours; try another browser; try another computer, etc, etc.

Please is there an agent who you know that can help me pass this stage?

and pls do have a back up plan for incase ur relatives or friends never showed up to pick u at the airport cause its so damn scary.

1. You are not wrong and i am not wrong. The OP wrote that the visa form (DS -160) was filled with the correct passport number , the MRV (Visa fee payment receipt) also carries same correct passport number , thereby an error in the CGI profile passport number will not count (too) much as its being exaggerated.

2. The moment you created CGI profile and submitted DS 160 , the USA embassy will start following your DS 160 data base. They knows you can do mistake , hence they use ONLY your DS 160 information and your physical passport to create your visa and database.

3. Disregard other noises. You and i have related the directive to the OP. He can call , he can send message via feedback . If both options did not work or the embassy does not respond , he will still submit his application successfully without issue. The embassy will naturally follow DS 160 and MRV (Physical Travel P) info.

Good day Nairalanders and US visa gurus. My elderly colleague made a mistake in his passport number on the appointment portal, but not on the application form. Will he be allowed to submit to dropox? The Passport number space is locked for editing and the appointment is next week. KIndly advise

PS: The names and passport number are also correct on the bank payment receipt.

I may be wrong, but I think what matters is that the correct information is on the DS-160. The appointment portal shouldn't matter. In any case, you could also use the "feedback button" to send a note to CGI (see screenshot below). That way there is a record that you alerted them.

Now the story is getting shaky. The point of the previous advice is to keep your story simple. One source of funding is "simpler" than several, which may smack of desperation.

B1/B2 is a non-immigrant visa. I know Nigeria is a tough country and many want to leave, but why tell lies? It must be tough being a Visa Officer, not being able to tell genuine visitors from immigration-risk applicants. If you really have no plans to return as a "visitor", then know that it is the likes of you that give us a bad name.

I actually wonder why Visa Officers still give these visas (many times easily), when all the signs are there that the person does not intend to come back. And you come here boldly thanking people for helping you try to cheat a system?

well.... your car is fairly new, and a Toyota at that..... u don't need to be visiting the mechanic upandan.... heck..... I understand that these packaged kazeems have messed up ur ride.

you can start with the possible issues with the car currently(if any) then after restoration u should use an advanced fully synthetic engine oil with an original oil filter which should last u a long time before u even service.

most people I know who drive a fairly new car don't bother themselves with mechanics.... panel beaters, yes... but not mechanics and u drive a Toyota fcol.

and those guys can bill for FG, my dad used Kia motors then for his Mech jobs, after I take the car there and sit in the reception, sometimes they offer stuff like... water if u dare drink the water, bill multiplies by 2

A 2014 camry is almost a new car i see no reason why you need a mechanic , Its just a normal Toyota not an S class. Aside normal oil replacement which an average mechanic can do . why are you seeking a mechanic ?

A friend urgently needs someone who would be maintaining his 2014 Toyota Camry. Kindly recommend someone who is good, especially with this car make.

My friend used to take the car to some of these fancy, sometimes overrated companies, but now wants to change, preferably to an individual. He has not had a good experience with some of these outlets for the following reasons:

1. The mechanics who work on the car (even for normal servicing) have no loyalty either to the company or to the customer, so the job is sometimes shabbily done.

2. Quality control and oversight by big companies is poor, especially if they have many cars and many workers.

3. Their prices are overrated for the same service that one person can do.

4. Items are sometimes stolen from the car when and no one takes responsibility.

Kindly help and please treat as urgent as the car is now due for regular service.
