If the situation wasn't serious, I would have said "crazykid" has seen too many movies! |
@ihujumbo, There are some topics I usually stay away from on this forum, because I believe that not every issue should be aired in public. Not because there are no good natured people here, no, but because you often get many superficial responses, made by people who do not think deep into the matter, and especially with little experiences about life. I did read this post out of curiosity. From what I read, you sound like a good person. "Scared" and "Confused" yes and that too is natural. My advice is: DO NOT LEAVE YOUR HUSBAND! On the face of it, my advice may sound cold and unsympathetic with your situation. When you think about it deeply though, and especially considering things in the very long term, the wisest decision you can make now is to remain with him. I also commend you for being faithful to him (there being no one else, etc). That requires some measure of virtue on your part, which you have but do not admit. I do not agree that you're a "bitch", no, not at all. You're just somebody with a heart, and for the moment, that heart is heavy. Now, I see many possible reasons why your heart may be telling you (I believe wrongly) that you do not love your husband. Some you mention in the style of life you live: indoors most of the time, browsing the internet, eat, sleep, etc. That is hardly engaging for the mind and an inactive mind in the end yields to boredom, temptations, and what have you. You yourself make it clear your husband is quite a nice person. My advice is this. Make up your mind to "begin again" with him. Sit down with him and tell him how you feel. Let him know, and let him also know that YOU WANT his help to make things work again. He does not realize the torture you're going through and so he cannot help you. When he now realizes, between the two of you, you will see there are many unexplored possibilities. You may also need a change of environment. Take a vacation with him, see new sights, visit new places , take some fresh air. Often, mild depression sets in and make us believe something is what it is not, or magnify situations making them seem there can be no light at the end of the tunnel. Come on girl, you can make your marriage work. It may be hard work but you show yourself a person of resilience. I see you many years from now, with your children and grand-children happy you never made the mistake you're being tempted to. Bad times will pass. I too will pray for you! |
As soon as possible? How soon can you help? |
Anybody selling either of these? Nokia 6133 Nokia 6126 Nokia N80ie In that order of preference, I live in Lagos. If you have it, please let me know your price, stating whether new or used (I prefer new), and if possible include a pic. Thanks |
HP Compaq is generally a good brand. I've used an nx8220 for two years now and no shaking. For the minimal use you intend to put it, seems ok. Is it new or fairly used? |
I thought it would be useful to other people in the house to hear my story: how Standout helped me register my business name. Well, I saw his name and number here, so taking him for his word, I called him. He came himself to my office in Victoria Island, collected all the necessary documents (really just my passport photograph) and N6,000 (Of course I gave him some money for transport). Although the process took about a month (put that down to the complexity of the business name I chose), he got it through. Last Friday, he brought to me my Certificate with which I have opened a bank account. With an extra expense of N1,200, the entire Business name reg cost me N7,200. I have taken this trouble to write this cos I think when someone deserves credit (against the usual run of things), it's fair to give it to him. Thanks "Standout" |
Like somebody mentioned above, precedence is important. Atiku may be the rogue that many say he is, but it would have been better for Nigerians to decide that through their votes. Secondly, the way he has been hounded by his boss (OBJ) has unwittingly made a martyr of Atiku, such that anyone who rightly believes in the rule of law will surely give Atiku some leeway to contest (and probably lose). Look, Atiku has been called a thief in more ways than one, and so when OBJ said he was going to reveal the extent of his theft, I was scandalized that all he could bring up was a spurious PTDF allegation. I cannot help thinking that this means that OBJ was involved in other more glaring cases of corruption against Atiku. As he will not remove the carpet from under his own feet, better to cite PTDF, as vague as that may be. Now don't get me wrong, I am not exactly a fan of Atiku, neither am I a fan of OBJ and his high-handedness in thinking that within him alone lie the solution to our problems. I am concerned about precedence: today the victim of OBJ's machinations is Atiku, tomorrow it will be somebody else. Are you not aware of how many people accuse him of using EFCC (a good enough initiative) to witch-hunt political opponents? OBJ can really be so self-righteous to a nauseous state at times! Imagine him going around the country "apologizing" for PDP's "mistake" in bringing to power candidates who are now today their opponents. The fellow can be so childish at times. You will be surprised at how many people now feel compassion for Atiku, because of the childish vindictiveness that OBJ has exhibited. Note: I will vote neither for Atiku nor for OBJ (Yar Adua is actually OBJ, didn't you know?), but I will not support any form of unfairness. |
News just coming in from bbcnews.com has it that Atiku's name is not on the list just released by INEC! http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/6452725.stm Trouble? |
I'll add two other very good sources of e-books for pda: i. codez4pda.com ii. epalm.org You need to register (free) for the first, but the second is open. You will find many of the all-time literature classics in the second link; while in the first you can for instance download e-versions of the novels of Federick Forsyth; Tom Clancy; Robert Ludlum, etc, etc, etc. |
Hi everyone, A friend of mine, a lecturer in one of the universities here in Nigeria has just written his first novel. I have read through the manuscript and I think it's a good enough read. Now he has asked me to make suggestions on how best to market the novel, to ensure it gets a good reception from the beginning. He asked me because of the nature of my job as a freelance journalist. I realize that I can benefit from the wealth of knowledge and experience of the thousands of people on this forum, so please help me. What do you think is the best way to about this? I should also add that he is yet to approach any publisher. Give me your take please, and thank you! |
Orikinla stop beating your head. "Is Die" may not be grammatically correct, but in the context, I think it sounds cool. Relax, have some sandwich, have a glass of milk, There're more serious issues at stake! |
I second that! |
Unfortunately it seems to be true! May his soul rest in peace! When I first heard he had been flown abroad via Air Ambulance, I could only feel pity for the poor fellow who allowed himself to be used by Obasanjo. Everyone (and especially himself) knew he was not well, yet, both Obasanjo and himself stubbornly insisted it was not so. I always knew Obasanjo choose a weak pair so that he could continue teleguiding the nation after May 29. Anyhow, I do not mean to speak ill of the dead, so I pray that God accept his soul in heaven. He was after a child of God, like all of us are! |
Hello Textover, I'm equally interested, but would like to know if I can pay in Naira from here in Nigeria? Thanks. |
Hello Mr. Admin, I made this post expecting some help, but apparently it is not coming. Instead some have turned it into a war turf. Kindly close the post. Thank you. |
Hello all, I make this post on behalf of Cristina Martinez: "Desperately seeking Kudirat Adkigbe, Nigerian athlete. I met her in Spain five years ago in Madrid, Calle Adelha de Balboa. After leaving the flat I was sharing with her I lost touch, but I am now in Nigeria and would like to know if she is around and get back in touch with her. I'm sure she would be very pleasantly surprised to hear from me. I know she is still quite active in athletics and apparently she participated in the 2006 Commonwealth games. Please, if you know anything about her or how I can get in touch with her or find out anything, please (let me know). Much appreciated, thanks! P.S. My name is Cristina Martinez" Thanks for your help. |
At the present time in Nigeria , Politics (unfortunately!) |
It's chilling! |
It's a very sad development. Who do the legislators really represent? When someone with the slightest modicum of integrity comes on stage and refuses to "play ball" the old way, he is booted out. I wish people can come together and prevent the retrogressives from having their way. And to think that people like Pat Utomi think they can survive this type of political environment? |
Quote: The Minister of Aviation, Dr. Babalola Borisade, on Wednesday said the calls for his resignation by some senators and critics were uncalled for. The calls followed Sunday’s crash of ADC Flight 053 shortly after take-off at the Nnamdi Azikwue International Airport Abuja. But while fielding questions from journalists shortly after the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, Borisade argued that since he lacked “spiritual power,” it was wrong for people to blame him for the spate of air crashes that had occurred since his assumption of office as the Minister of Aviation. (---) He, however, said that he would have resigned if the possession of divine power was the requirement to function as the Minister of Aviation. He said, ”The calls for my resignation are based on the fact that people thought I should have spiritual or divine power, which I don‘t have. “And if divine power belongs to God, and if they expect me to have divine power, it is not possible for me to have it. ”And if that is what they need an aviation minister to have, then, I have no objections. I will just leave. I know I don‘t have divine power. I am not rejecting their advice to resign. “I have told you that the condition under which they are making this call is that they are looking for somebody who has divine power which I don‘t have. And if that is the only quality required for being an aviation minister, I don‘t qualify to be there.” When told that records showed that the nation had recorded most crashes during his tenure, he responded, ”You can begin to extend that argument that during the tenure of Mr. President, we have had x number of air crashes . You can begin to go on and on.” Borisade maintained that the ministry had done its best to make the airspace safe. End of quote: I will only add that Borishade is not an honourable man! Wouldn't you consider taking a Masters degree while you still have age on your side. It gives you a continous edge in the workplace and will also ease your employers' plans for further training. |
Hi dakmanzero, It's kiloBYTES. Regards, Agboifo |
Nightrider, Sorry about that. For the future, it may be useful to install one of these car alarms that go "whew, whew" when someone tries to force your car. I'll suggest you forget about sueing them. You might end up spending more money for nothing, because you know, the law "is sometimes an ass", especially in these environments. Sorry again. |
There are over 90 GMail Invitations available here: http://nigeriazone.com/index.php?topic=8.new#new |
http://www.nigeriazone.com It is an online forum for all Nigerians of every age, status and conditions, home and abroad. It has been conceived as a meeting point where freedom reigns (freedom of expression, that is), conditioned only by love and respect for the common good. Another feature we hope will reign here is respect for one another and to plurality of opinion. |
I use Starcomms EVDO, so I thought I should share my experiences with you. I've had it for one month now and it's connected to one desktop via USB EVDO modem. I have set up a local area network and at the moment I am typing this, three other users (2 laptops and 1 desktop) are sharing my connection. Is it fast? That depends. In my experience, the normal download speed is in the region of 60kbps and I have sometimes seen it hover around 100kbps, but it soon returns to 60. I use it for Skype phone conversations, which is fair enough even though sometimes the voice breaks, but that is rare. A few days ago, I was having connection problems in that it was breaking off after connecting and I would have to reconnect several times, but it seems that hiccup has gone now. I am happy with it and will not hesitate to renew the subscription at the end of the month. Perhaps I should add that I live in Lekki Phase 1. My two cents folks. |
Please post the picture of the car. Thanks. |
Been using LEXAR Media Flash drive for years and still going strong. All those I've recommended to get this one have not been disappointed. |
