Thank you so much for the advice . I just noticed that the deadline for supervisors to submit nominations is Feb 1, 2018; what are am my chances of still applying for admission at this time - already I see that he has filled out the scholarship form but with a blank in the column written Nominee student's number. Thanks so much; your further advice appreciated. jnyuwa02: I am a recipient of one of those dean scholarships. To the best of my knowledge, the scholarship decisions cannot be made if you have not applied. So maybe the professor is only trying to gauge your chances for obtaining the scholarship before offering you any guarantees or he thought you applied already? I know that my supervisor at USASK interviewed me via skype for an hour and told me he was sure I had the scholarship, but was careful to say it's not 100 percent guaranteed until I hear in writing from the scholarship commitee. He said the committee asked him to interview me. All that happened after I applied for admission. So I will advice you to apply for admission without further to do. |

Thanks alot.
Yes... The University of Saskatchewan Dean's scholarship is a prestigious scholarship aimed at attracting intelligent graduate students to their university. You can get the scholarship even before applying for admission but you must have published some academic papers alongside your high academic achievements before you can be selected.
So since you have a supervisor already you can go ahead an submit you admission application. U will have to pay an application fee of $90cad.
Once you have been selected for the scholarship, your supervisor or the scholarship committee will send you a mail.
I know a senior friend who got the Deans Scholarship in 2016 for his PHD..
best of luck in your applications.
|

Hello house, I sent an email to a Prof at Univ of Sask - just for PhD research supervision (Fall 2018) - he replied that based on my GPA he would support me for the deans scholarship at Univ of Sask; he requested documents from me like my transcript etc and asked me to fill out a particular form for consideration. After this , he informed me that he has submitted it to the department for consideration. My question is that , since I have not applied for admission at all; is it possible to be granted a dean's scholarship in Univ of Sask prior to applying? How long does it take to get response on this scholarship? My MSc GPA converted to univ of Sask equivalent was 85.5% and BEng was 4.43/5 - what are my chances? |

Congrats, please could you send me you number I'd like to find out something from you (donprofaghatise@yahoo.com) BlackLion93: Salut!
I started reading this thread vigorously, albeit silently after my application on June 3rd, 2017. Though, I read www.cic.gc.ca deeply before applying, I figure this forum is great for extra help.
I must say that certain approval profile descriptions here gave me some hope during the wait and my hope is that my profile can do the same to some other person(s). Here goes,...
Applied online: June 3rd Biometrics call: June 5th Approval message/Passport request: August 2nd Passport submitted: August 3rd Passport collection: Awaiting.....
Documents submitted and arrangement format: -Study Permit Application (filled as accurately as possible and multiply-checked) -CAQ (for Quebec applicants) -Under Passport (Passport data page + Police Clearance certificate) -Under Letter of Acceptance (Offer of Admission Letter, C$250 acceptance fee, NYSC discharge certificate [2017], BSc Certificate [2016], Undergraduate Transcript, WAEC Certificate) -Under Proof of financial support (sponsors' six months bank statement, sponsors' proof of business, sponsors' proof of asset, accommodation support letter from relative residing in the area) Sponsor: Parent -Under Proof of medical exam (e-Medical printout obtained at Children's & Consultant Practice where I did my upfront medicals) -Under Digital Photo (Digital photo size as specified on “cic” website) -Family Information form (filled as accurately as possible and multiply-checked) -Under Proof of relationship (Dad's passport data page & my birth certificate) -Schedule 1 - Application for a Temporary Resident Visa Made Outside of Canada -Under Letter of Explanation (Study plan- With six short paragraphs, I answered relevant questions [purpose of visit, current activity, intentions after study etc.] - about 1 page)
Course progression (BSc. Elect Engrng--> M.Eng Elect/Comp Engrng)
Re-iterating what “gurus” here have said; My two cents: Keep application as simple, relevant (as your case may be) and accurate as possible (I do not think online or paper application affects decision speed much), Pray and keep up your faith and positivity, Read and ask questions. Bonne chance tout le monde! Goodluck Everyone! |

Somat4ril: Guys, please I checked my application status yesterday for MUN, I saw 'decision made', but I've not been sent any mail as regards to that. Great!!! wish you the best......I am still waiting ooo. I applied for a PhD place in Ocean Engineering and Naval Architecture. What department did you apply to? |

Genius000: Please try to use Online. Paper route is quite funny.
I was asked for additional documents that I had already submitted.
But that doesn't establish that Online is a safe haven.
Just do your best and make sure your application is great.
Do not hurry; take your time.
People have gotten TRV with both routes.
I got mine with paper.
IRCC is merit based; If you work hard and submit a great application, your Visa will be approved; albeit there may be unlucky situations even after satisfying all the requirements; but if unlucky, you should try again. Thanks alot , have a few questions to ask. Kindly send me your email or mobile through donprofaghatise@yahoo.com |

Aghatise: Dear Friends... please I would need your support and clarification about upload of documents. I would be grateful if guided on which section to upload the following documents during the online application:
1. Upfront medical slip
2. Police character report
3. Certificates: University, transcripts
4. Previous passports showing travel records
5. SOP
Also if I have multiple financial documents eg bank statement , land documents, payslips, how do I have multiple pdf documents uploaded in a single section. I do appreciate your help as I see that people on this platform attach so many documents but will be happy to know the location in the upload section this can be attached. Your advise will be highly appreciated.
FOR MUN APPLICANTS
This was what i got from my supervisor yesterday.
Hi,
The Graduate Coordinator and Committee has just this morning made applicant files available to the rest of the department for their comments. This is somewhat later than usual and the delay is due almost entirely to a flood of applications that have recently arrived due to numerous foreign students choosing Canada rather than the US to pursue their studies.
Apparently the Grad Committee will be meeting early next week to review those comments and the files so applicants should be hearing from the committee shortly thereafter.
Thanks so much for the update ; I applied for a PhD in Ocean Engineering and earnestly waiting oooooooo |

Good Day VO,
My wife is pregnant and applied for a B2 medical visa, she was interviewed in Abuja on 29 Dec 2015 and visa approved, was given a white paper and was asked to pick up her passport in a few days in Port Harcourt ( Premium Delivery). It is over 7 working days now and the passport status still shows that it is at the US embassy 'administrative processing' appreciate your advice on this as the visa was approved on that day and no letter showing further administrative processing was issued. |
