phabulous88: Write both the English (IELTS General) and French (TEF) exam.
If you write only the French, you won’t get additional points.
And yes, the writing the French exam , in addition to our IELTS exam was what gave us our ITA. Hmmmm.. This is a great suggestion. Will do that. |

aurorae1: Ok. I'll still say you take the IELTS or any of the other English lang. tests and enter the pool with your WES if you have it. One, this means if you are in one Category based occupations, you stand a chance to get invited. Two, you can also get a nomination through PNP. You can still be learning French all through this. Thanks for the advise |

aurorae1: Have you been learning French and now ready to write the exam? If not, getting to the level to pass TEF will take a while, a long while.
Why not take the English test now enter the pool, and depending on what you studied in the UK, look at category based draws or even PNP? what I mean I that I want to enrol for french class now, the write the test in 9 months time. |

I need an advise, i am currently finishing my Msc in UK. I will be kicking off my pr process soon. I did ielts 3 years ago but didn't meet the cut-off. Now I am in the UK, someone advised me to take the French language test rather than English, because it would help the immigration process and also my career. I am about to register for my French language course and I don't want to waste money. I want to ask, how viable is it using French test ? And also advice |

olasubomy: 1. This question has been answered severally on the thread. However, choosing to use an agent or representative is entirely your decision. You just have to bear in mind whatever is declared in your applicant by the agent would be your responsibility. You are the one the visa officer and CBA officer would hold accountable. Also, what is the agent rationale for asking you to have available $3million as proof of funds?. Please, bear in mind that presenting proof of funds (bank statement) does not end in presentation of the statement in itself. You have to provide back-up of the source of funds. E.g if it is a salary account, the support would be sample copies of payslips to evidence the credit inflows in statement. You have to provide reasonable back-up of the inflows explaining source of funds. Finally, the agent should know that amount to be presented as availability for your stay depends on the province and length of stay.
2. Dont you think doing it yourself will help you take more ownership of your application but choosing to use agent or DIY is your decision. It is a good step attempting to do it yourself for the student route. Just take your time and study the application process more, you would master it in no time but if you must use an agent, make sure they are licensed immigration consultant recognized by IRCC and those guys are not cheap.
3. Based on my experience in Canada in recent times, i would say NO. The economy is going through some challenging phase right now and there are lots of queues for few jobs. Many legal residents are not finding it easy but this is not to discourage you if you want to risk it. Just giving you a glimpsed of what it is looking like presently in Canada. My advice would be work towards Permanent Resident route instead. Your no 3 point is the bomb. Thanks for this and I hope people would adhere to it. I am a student in the UK and will soon finish. I was planning on taking another student route to Canada this coming September. But I thought about it and researched on employment crisis currently ongoing in Canada. I realized I would be better of in UK at the moment, get my UK psw, then gradually processing the Canada PR. Converting vv to wv is less than 4% chances. One needs to be patient. |

I need an advise. We all know that international students are not required to apply or collect government money. So, I am an international student and the uni I study is where I also work. This year January the school said they would make a one-off payment to all staff to ease the high cost of living. For my level it's £500. This is not government money, it's the school that is paying, I believe I can accept the money ?? |

DaveWonder: Good day house, I just need encouragement from you all. I entered UK early this month and I've been job hunting, mehn it hasn't been easy at all. I apply not less that 20 jobs daily and I keep getting the unfortunately mail. I live around Manchester. Just want my senior men to encourage me cos sometimes when I see the mail, it kills my moral but regardless I'll keep applying, hoping this phase will pass soon. It's the season of love and Christ celebrations. Relax, calm down, God is your strength. Since you stay around Manchester, the city is the industrial capital of UK, try warehouse jobs and you will get it easily. Unless you don't want warehouse. And keep trying other sectors |

Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) has reported over 80 Nigerian students to the UK Home Office to revoke their student visas. This was done over the inability of the students to make their tuition fees. The student's visa status may be revoked and affected students removed from the country.
Many of the affected students are Most of the September 2023 intake, who were supposed to pay an enrollment fee of £3000 upon arrival/resumption at the university in September. Many are yet to make the payments, MMU granted them a month's grace period. Some couldn't meet up, the school had to shut them out of all student portals, classes, and privileges while extending the grace period to another month. Many couldn't still meet up due to the Naira devaluation and exchange rate and also delay in form A. A few days ago, MMU reported the students to the Home Office.
The Home office gave the students 7 days to make the payments or their visa status will be revoked and they will be thrown out of the country. The 7 days elapses this week and many are yet to meet up with the funds. If By Monday 18/12/2023, the fees are not paid, it's sad that the

Lefty500: Go on eBay, search for your laptop of choice and spec, under filter, choose open never used you should see good deals there.
I didn't have a good experience with refurb laptop, so I don't recommend it, even with excellent refurb, one key wasn't working, I bought it for my wife, she didn't see a reason to report to me since there's an alternate key that serve the same purpose (shift key).
But with open never used, I got a laptop worth £750 at £449, ASUS TUF Gaming F15, Core i5 11th gen, 512GB SSD, 8gb RAM , 4gb Nvidia Geforce RTX 2050, 2023 model. I just recently added 16GB RAM.
Just be careful, because refurb can also be listed as "open never used", check the rating of the seller, and reviews, check item description, and try and see the reason why the person is selling, also if it has any defect. Thanks |

Please I need an advise. Since September, I decided to be saving my holiday pay and other financial incentives I have. I left the monies in my PayPal and revolut account (though not savings account) and I have saved up to £200. I am thinking of opening a real savings account where I can get interests monthly or sending the money to my Nigerian bank. Can someone give me suggestions on genuine banks I can save money that would give me better interest. |

Eaglestsr: Good day everyone.. Please I need your assistance. I applied for a job in Canada but I wasn't sure if I was going to get it and that made me to submit an application for a visit visa. Then eventually I got the job after a very long time and they issued a LMIA too. Now the visa is not yet out and according the company I'm supposed to travel to Canada and start work by next month.
However, I don't know if I should cancel the visa and submit a fresh visa application. Or if it will be possible to switch the visit visa using the LMIA when I travel to the country. Your advice will be appreciated. Yes, you can switch your visitor visa to work permit inside Canada using "flagpole". Flagpole is legit. Google flagpole |
