That is the kind of bullet trains that we need and not the junk trains that GEJ gave us!

Nigeria does not have the rail tracks for bullet trains being inspected by GMB. It will take building dual carriage rail tracks, tunnels, substations, bridges etc to commission the train in view. It is attainable but it will take some time and significant capital outlay.

Politics / Re: Buhari's Social Program: Very Possible. by Agukagu(m): 5:19am On Apr 20, 2015
Obiagelli:
Officially, Nigeria exports 2 million barrels of crude oil
daily. At the current price of 60 US dollars per barrel, that
translates into 120 million US dollars.

120 million x 365day = 43,800,000,000

43 billion dollars @ 60% ( rumoured sharing formula between Nigeria and oil companies)

That means Nigeria makes 25.8 billion dollars annually.

$25.8 billion x 200 naira = 5.1 trillion naira.

You did not factor in cost of production in your revenue projection. Federal government shares profit from crude oil sales with the oil companies. Crude oil selling $60/barrel does not therefore translate to income of $60/barrel. This is how people like SLS came up with missing $20billion. Anyway GMB will soon be in charge. From 29 May 2015, there will still be freedom of speech but as for freedom after speech you are OYO.

Nigeria's 2014 budget was N4.6 trillion meaning we still have about 0.5 trillion naira change.
www.channelstv.com/2014/04/09/nigerian-senate-passes-4-6-trillion-naira-2014-budget/

FEDERAL INLAND REVENUE

Nigeria generated N4.69tn Revenue in 2014

www.thisdaylive.com/articles/firs-generates-n4-69tn-revenue-in-2014/200484/

Adding N4.69 trillion (firs) + 5.1 trillion (crude oil) = 9.79 trillion.

If our budget was N4.6 trillion then we have a balance of 5.1 trillion naira that nobody accounts for.

Barcanista asked where we will find 1.8 trillion to take care of our most vulnerable citizens, this balance of 5.1 trillion will be taken away from the pockets of criminals and militants.

EDIT.

I forgot the FG gets 52% of total income, even at that we have a balance of 0.6 trillion naira which is sufficient for the first stage of the social programs.
The APC government has said one of its major income earners is the mining industry.

This plans with financial discipline is very much achievable.

Please note that my analysis is based our major source of income ( oil and taxes), i have not touched other income earnings.

What have they done to deserve their salaries? If they can't answer that question satisfactorily then their payments should be withheld till further notice.

I get irked by some of the posts on Nairaland. Paying employees is not a favor but a contractual obligation of the employer. Civil servants in Imo State government's parastatals and MDAs are even owed over 4months salary arrears. If House Assembly members are being owed I wonder what will be the faith of the common civil servants. It is not fair for the state governor to receive federal allocation including the local government allocations and refuse to pay government workers their wages. If the federal government withholds the allocations to the states for two months what do you think will happen.

Well let me agree with ur conclusions. So i ask you of d NC/SW states results anounced so far, how many was won by PDP? who has won d majority? Also remember NW/NE has more states (19) than SS/SE (11) and also has more voters.
I believe u already know who d winner is.

SS and SE are block votes. Did you see how Enugu votes alone neutralized all the votes that APC gained from SW?. One block vote from a SS/SE state will clear any advantage that APC garners from NC. This election will end in photo finish with the game masters coming out tops.

OP I can feel the pain of your husband. Many girls in your mold use multiple fingers or objects bigger than the biggest dick to self-service and still claim to be virgins. You may have been telling him that you are a virgin then comes the awkward moment that he penetrated you and your hole was like Lagos-Ibadan expressway. If you get heavenly feeling by self-servicing or lesbianism or through using intimacy gadgets, technically you are no longer a virgin.

The Bible said woe to them that call evil good. I am appalled that some of us are supporting Rochas in wasting the State's meagre resources on useless projects and ventures. At the end it is our common wealth that is going down the drain due to Rochas' poor management decisions. As a developing nation, our projects should be aimed at addressing vital gaps in the society and not to tickle the fancy of a visionless leader.

Op, you simply mean that Nigerian law should be bent because of Buhari. Get this straight: Because Buhari does not have school certificate but can express himself in spoken and written English does not in any way take away the fact that we have Nigerians who have suffered to study to acquire certificates and can express themselves in written and spoken English better than Buhari.

I have met many people who don't have school certificates but are good writers and speakers of English language. You cannot justify Buhari's disrespect for Nigerian law with such baseless analogy. That's how Buhari refused to appear before Oputa panel. Are you saying those who sat down to outline (in the constitution) the presentation of school certificate to INEC were fools?

Family / Re: Why Do Men Shy Away From Responsibilities Once They Notice Their Wife Has Money by Agukagu(m): 4:48pm On Feb 24, 2015
Jackeeh:
You cousin is lucky. I watched my mum cry severally cos of the embarrassment she received from my dad. I watched how my dad would cross certain things off the market list to reduce the little amount needed for feeding. It got so bad that I'd go to my dad's superstore to steal cash just so my mum could have some money in her purse( that I'm not proud of). She was just a secondary school teacher then. My dad has never bought anything for my mum. She worked hard, got promoted , became an academic supervisor etc. Fast forward to 2014: she retired n received her gratuity. Meanwhile dad who was a rich banker then, lost his job n was duped in a business deal he ventured into. Now mum is the one in charge. No more tears. She now runs the show. The jeep she bought, dad drives it. Everywhere they go, mum tells whoever cares tho listen that dad bought the car n not her. She has begun her building project n will soon become a landlady. She doesn't hesitate to give whenever dad needs cash. She has forgotten how it was. She has forgotten how this same man who is greatly benefitting from her now, used to abuse her n call her lazy n a liability. Lol. Now who's the liability? She doesn't hide her money from her "beloved'' husband. I get mad at times n wished she would retaliate. But my mum would have none of that. She now has more thasn enough wrappers n jewellries. No more tears. Hmmmmmmmmm I believe that's how marriage should be. So pls advise your cousin to do what she can. She's even blessed with money n can comfortably provide for herself n kids. If need be,let her do same for her husband. Things will change for the best someday. And of course, now that mum has some money, dad is not even contributing a dime anymore. Lol. Mum still believes he will change some day. But as we wait for that day to come, mum is smoothly running the home n everyone is happy.

I can bet that your dad was once a pillar in your home. For him to be rich a banker and own a superstore shows that he was financially well to do. Crossing out unnecessary items from grocery list does not make a man a bad husband. Calling your mum lazy and a liability might have been the tonic that fired your mum to start working hard. Your mum may not have told you that your dad was the foundation of what she is today and had supported her all the while. Any good woman especially those from SE and SS will do what your mum did without qualms. This is more so when she knows that what she is toady is courtesy of her husband. There is nothing to glory in letting people know that you are in charge of the home instead of your husband. Make no mistake, your dad will rise again. There is hope for a tree that was cut down. Kudos to your mum anyway. Do emulate her for she is a virtuous woman.

Igbo bashing has become quite a common thing in Nigeria such that it has become normal to bash Igbo on every single thing, even on things that are meaningless.

You created this thread to ask why Igbo prefer to marry from their tribe. Are you really serious? This is a question you opened this thread for looking for 'answers'? Would you have opened this very thread in the first place had a Yoruba or Hausa guy been the one who preferred to marry from their tribe? Yes or No? Why would a Yoruba parent reject a non-yoruba suitor, and that will not be an issue. In fact, such action is justified. A Hausa parent will do the same and no dust will be raised about it. But when an Igbo parent does the same, then its a big deal. It is a serious issue that calls for serious attention and criticism, then you begin to get tags like ''Igbos are 'tribalistic'', 'they are 'selfish'', it is an 'Igbo problem' e.t.c. Minor issues that aren't issues when done by other tribes become a serious issue when Igbo is involved.

I look around me, majority Ibibios marry within the Ibibio tribe, majority Hausas marry within Hausa, Yoruba within Yoruba, why should the Igbo marrying within themselves even be a question in the first place? Despite the level of inter marriage between whites and blacks here in the US, majority whites marry within whites, chinese within chinese, blacks within blacks, and you're going to sit there and tell me that it is a problem when Igbos prefer to marry Igbos?? Like seriously??

I get your point about love being the most important factor between 2 people from different tribes and there are marriages between Igbo men and non-Igbo women however majority Igbos don't need to look outside for love when they can find it within themselves. The same love you mentioned as important, Igbo men get it from within the tribe. Why look outside? What about culture preservation and values? Why should Igbo preferring to marry from within even be an issue in the first place when other tribes are doing the same? Is the creation of this thread even justified in the first place?

Tomorrow you're going to open another thread asking 'Why do Igbo people speak Igbo?' Like seriously??

Barman!!!, please give Bigfrancis 3bottles of Orijin.
