Politics › El-rufa’i Dashed People’s Hopes — Kaduna Elders by agwom(op): 6:13am On Sep 16, 2016
A group of elders in Kaduna, the Kaduna Development Elders Initiative, advises Governor Nasir el-Rufa’i to change his style of administration.
The group said that measures and policies he took were unpopular and not in the interest of people in the state.

The elders, arising from an executive meeting in Kaduna, said they resolved to continue advising el-Rufa’i for the state to experience physical and human development.
The elders, in the communiqué signed by their publicity secretary, Alhassan Balarabe Musa, said el-Rufa’i’s promise of making Kaduna great again did not seem to reflect the reality. Kaduna “is now sinking into a quagmire of neglect and inaction,” the communiqué said.
“The people of Kaduna State deserve better than what is being given to them now and the sooner the governor realizes that the better. He should, therefore, change his gear now.”
The communiqué alleged that civil servants and pensioners have been in agony due to what it called “endless verifications exercise,” resulting in the withholding of salaries for many months.
It expressed displeasure with the appointment of non-indigenes into key positions in the state, saying that might be in accordance with el-Rufa’i’s’ refusal to distinguish between indigenes and citizens.
“It could, therefore, be seen that Governor el-Rufa’i is walking a tight rope in Kaduna State, high above his people, totally indifferent about their aspiration, hopes for obtaining dividend of democracy they have toiled hard to install.”

Politics › NSCDC Destroys 15 Illegal Refineries, Gears Up For "Ember" Months by agwom(op): 7:51pm On Sep 15, 2016
The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, said the corps has destroyed 15 illegal refineries and illegal dumps, in the creeks.

In a statement, Thursday, from the corps spokesman, Emmanuel Okeh, Gana commended the effort of the personnel as well as the Commandant of Rivers State command, Mrs. Helen Amakiri, "for a successful operation in the creek leading to the destruction of 15 illegal refineries and illegal dumps."

Gana also appreciated the effort of the personnel across the Nation for providing security during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

He said ''I am happy with the pro activeness and doggedness of all of you in tackling insecurity in this year's Eid-el-Kabir celebration, and I pray that you keep it up at all times to justify the mandate of the Corps ''.

The Corps helmsman reiterated that in this ''ember'' season, the Corps has a lot to do especially in protecting Critical Infrastructure.

Gana noted that, the-get-rich-quick syndrome of the youths during this period is usually high considering the fact that "instead of celebrating Christmas festival in line with the Christian doctrine, youths usually take to crime and criminalities, in trying to grab at all cost what do not belong to them".

He therefore urged the security operatives, "to re-strategies the modus operandi in order to nip in the bud such vices."

He however debunked the speculations there is rift among the Management Team and urged the sectional heads to brief their Staff adequately against peddling false information on issues they are not clarified about.

Romance › What Happens Now? She Broke My Heart! by agwom(op): 6:56pm On Sep 15, 2016
Try this first it can help you more than you think, lift your head up, stand up, now scream out loud "SHE BROKE MY HEART". Now do you feel better? Chances are that made you feel a little empowered. Now that you have little gusto behind you, stop feeling sorry for yourself. Realize that you are not the first one this has happened too and you will not be the last. Chances are, this might not even be the first time this has happened to you. She may have done this before or someone else has done this to you.

If this is the last time your heart is broken for the duration of your life, than consider yourself lucky. However, you can learn from this and if it happens again, you will know how to handle it a little better. Remember it is not the end of the world. You may feel terrible and think there will never be another but let me tell you from experience, there will be another. Those terrible feelings you have, will eventually go away.

Time heals everything, even a broken heart. Although it may seem like the most gut wrenching process a person can go through, it's true; time will heal a broken heart. Now that you see there may be hope in this time of doom and gloom in your life, here is some even better news. There are more fish in the sea.

Even though at this time, you may think she is the only one for you and you may even feel you will never find another. My friend, you will never find another if you choose to never find another. However, statistics show that women outnumber men nearly 2 to 1 in the world. So, if you want to take a chance, than the odds are in your favor that you will find another.

However, I will say this: "Time is the key, do it when you're ready, and not a second sooner". Now while you may have been crying to your buddies and crying "she broke my heart", you may come to find out that it was a blessing in disguise. You might find out she is not the person you thought she was.

Now, again, the key is time. Let things work them self out. After some time, and plenty of thinking; you might just find out that she is not the person you should be with. Thank your lucky stars and cast your fishing net out into that vast sea of the opposite sex.
