No Seychelles? Like really? or do they mean Sub-saharan Africa?

Gambia, Burkina Faso, and Ghana shouldn't be on that list. Instead, they should be replaced with Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco.

You are exactly right. And South Africa at the moment is poorly governed.
Travel / Re: I Want To Relocate To Gabon. Advice Me. I’m A Teacher by ahmedio: 4:21pm On Feb 26
I won’t advise anybody to go to Gabon. They have a saying there. Gabonese first. Even other French speaking people are seen as less to them.
The standard of living is very low in Gabon. A few Cameroonians that made friends with the previous government are among the few rich foreigners.
So, if you are going as an ordinary person, I will advise otherwise. But, if you’re able to make friends with the high and mighty there, then you can easily succeed.

Do all those insects that make noise at night stay around your apartment?

Those ones that hop but don't fly?

No, they don’t. Only normal cockroaches and wall geckos
Health / Strange Sting/bite On Finger Tips by ahmedio: 5:31pm On Aug 16, 2023
Hello house.
My wife told me sometimes ago that something stung her sister on the toe while she was sleeping. There was no mark and she had just drop of blood. This morning around 3am I felt something sharp on my finger tip like a string needle. I woke up immediately and I saw a drop of blood on my finger.
I know it’s not scorpion because there was no strange feeling. Just the pain on the finger tip.
Could it be a rat ?
Has anyone ever experienced this before?
See my finger.
Just very small blood and very painful

Career / Re: With My 450k Salary Am Not Still At Ease. by ahmedio: 9:37am On Jul 09, 2023
cremedelacreme:
Those saying 450K is more than enough to buy a land and start building do not really understand how expensive things are in Nigeria today. I earn slightly above what the OP mentioned, but believe you me, it's not been easy. If you live in Lagos, Abuja or PH and you are married with kids, you will understand. A 2 bedroom flat in an average neighborhood is over 700K. Cost of fuel and car maintenance is over 60/70K monthly in recent times. School fees for 2/3 children is over 200K per term (600/800K annually). Feeding takes over 100K monthly. Utilities and other miscellaneous dey ooo. Best thing na just to save enough and japa.

If he is single, 300k is more than enough to make ends meet and make savings. Sometimes people don’t tell the whole story. With a moderate lifestyle 400k with 2/3 children is not bad. Not many people earn that much in this country

Business / Re: People Working For Me Have Houses Abroad But I Don’t — Dangote by ahmedio: 6:02pm On Jul 03, 2023
I don’t believe this is true. My colleagues were showing me Dangote’s house in Addis Ababa. They said almost every body in Addis knows Dangote’s house and when you tell anyone in Addis you are from Nigeria they are quick to say they know Dangote’s house and his girlfriend.
Travel / Re: Pictures Of The Completed Ijebu Ode-Epe-Sagamu-Benin Expressway Interchange. by ahmedio: 8:58pm On Mar 16, 2022
Looks good on photo. But it’s not yet completed. There is no link yet into IjebuOde. The road takes you from Sagamu Benin express from and to Epe . People from IjebuOde still have to cross the express and face one way for a short distance

your example is that of a family issues, it does not correlate to the issue on ground, in the sense that indeed money exchange hands before the tenant, so it does not correlate,

a sound property lawyer will take the landlord to the cleaner in this OP case,

Even an average lawyer will deal with the landlord. This case is a No-brainer
Properties / Re: Just Moved In Three Months Ago And Told To Pack Out Now. by ahmedio: 7:18pm On Mar 08, 2022
BlueRayDick:
That is what happens when you rent a house without getting receipt, signing agreement and have everything fully documented.

If the tenant had the above listed boxes checked, then he could've easily called their bluff, demand for at least 6 months quit notice before which they can legally eject him out of the premises.

As it stands let him collect his change and move out of the house..... He can take with him whatever improvement he must have done to the house like wallpaper, kitchen zinc, WC etc.

Even without a receipt they cannot legally evict him like that. I would say he should just chill and let the month end. Then they will come back and ask him to leave. He should insist on getting a proper quit notice. If they bring a notice that is less than 6 months, get a lawyer to reply their letter. They will chill.

Thanks . I have changed the gasket. After changing it the mechanic was telling me that he didn’t hear when I initially complained about the water in the engine oil. I was so mad. But anyway it’s been discovered that it was really the gasket that got burnt. Thank you all for the insight

Most of the mechanics around here are worse than the one I am using. I can say he is even better than most of them.

Okay. Do you have any overheating history?

The overheating is confusing. The temperature gauge on the dashboard never goes far from the first line but then the bonnet is always very hot.

The water shortage of your radiator will eventually cause overheating.

When did you start noticing this? How long have you used the car? Did you buy Nigeria used or toks?

I bought toks in May 2018. I started noticing it around September 2020. The mechanic said I should change the radiator to double cell which I did but it’s becoming worse by the day
Car Talk / Re: Milky Stuff On My Engine Dipstick- What Does This Mean by ahmedio: 11:29am On Jan 22, 2022
That is scary. I’m scared of opening engine. I’ve heard of how overheating problem usually starts after changing gasket.
Car Talk / Milky Stuff On My Engine Dipstick- What Does This Mean by ahmedio: 11:02am On Jan 22, 2022
I have been seeing some milky stuff whenever I check my engine oil. On the dipstick. And I also noticed the radiator water keeps drying up everyday and I have to put water DAILY. It’s a 2005 Nissan Xtrail. My mechanic has not been able to find a solution so I was hoping people with experience can shed more light.

My wife's wedding gown
Rented It at 17k
she wore it for 2hrs
And that's all
imagine that.

I thank
God
it was during corona
so the total money spent for the wedding was 37k..
We later got 2.5plots with the money we should have wasted
Was done in a congregation of 15
Her family cooked for them
We snapped with the Wedding gown
got the soft copies on my flash
Used my one of my suits
Although some people still quarelled that we didn't invite them..i tell them say na "Coro things"

You are very smart. My wedding cost me about 100k. Registry then we went to the church for blessing. It was on a Thursday so no crowd. Went back home and entertained some guests till the end of the day. I did traditional with about the same amount. No wedding gown. I have never been a fan of white wedding. Never liked it. Though my wife wanted it at the beginning but had to settle for traditional and registry as the other option was to postpone indefinitely

Manhood is RESPONSIBILITY.
I don't know who told some African men that cooking for your home/wife is a sign of weakness.
That's the most backward thing I've heard in a very long time.

Manhood, as I've said, is RESPONSIBILITY.
Selah.

It shocks me when I see men that are fed by their wives but still claiming MAN. They do practically nothing in the house because them be Man.
Family / Is This What Makes A Man A MAN? by ahmedio: 11:39am On Aug 17, 2020
So John’s wife does not work. His friend Mark, does not work. His wife takes care of all the bills. While he hangs out with friends and oppress the wife at home. One day, Mark saw John in the kitchen while his pregnant wife laid on the sofa. Later that day, Mark was telling his friends that John is not a man. Why will a man go to work for money and still cook in the kitchen. The question is, what is the meaning of the phrase,” He is a man”? The one that can provide for the home or the one that can order a woman around.

Nitric:
I need suggestions or proposals for investment of the sum of N16 million for a period of 30 months starting from May 2020.

All sectors of the economy are welcome including including forex trading and other online businesses, just make sure you can defend your proposal with evidence of past performance.

I would also consider investing in a viable business venture but would need to exit by November 2022

If you are in Lagos go into Joint Venture with a developer. You can sell the property on lease and make about 80% ROI
