BTW, this thread is about Ugbowo Road to be precise and you said BUILD bigger gutters to "solve this problem once and for all."

I said it goes beyond simply building new bigger gutters.

I hope you are able to answer in a straight forward manner.

You should know Adolor drainage is supposed to flow into the expressway. You asked for examples and I gave you more than enough. All these roads are supposed to empty their contents into the expressway drainage. Unfortunately, the Lagos Ugbowo expressway has a very shallow drainage system and can't accomodate the flood so it spills onto the road. The governor has realised this and is widening the road to make room for a BIGGER drainage system.

All I'm saying is put an adequate drainage system. If it were adequate,it is expected that the flood should drain faster than it does.

Whether you lived in Benin is nothing compared to the on the spot assessment of a road I passed a few hours ago.

Help me find out if Federal,Uwasota and Technical roads have working drainages since they link the Lagos Ugbowo expressway.

I am almost certain most cities in Nigeria were not having flood problems before independence and maybe till 1973 when Murtala and Objoke started their quota system and federal character, which ruined the civil service structure.
What is needed BEYOND construction is REGULAR daily cleaning of the gutters during the dry season as well as during the rainy season coupled with heavy fines for dropping things on the road.

If you've been to Benin,you will know that gutters are either non existent or very shallow. Benin receives a large amount of rainfall every year. This has nothing to do with clogging of non existent drainages.
