olorun mi.....Congo and Liberia? Liberia that fielded George Weah? We are counting that one too as a game?

How many goals does Simy have this season? Simy was duly dropped because of Success, Kelechi and Ighalo have posted better performances than him this season. It is a logical choice here.

Scoring against some Liberian team that would be trashed by NPFL U-15 and hitting the woodwork against Congo are not the standards for any striker. I like Simy, but your postulation are wayyyyyy off
Less you forget,it was reported that FIFA duly recognized the encounter. You made it look as if the whole Liberian team was full of overaged players.

It was a team made up of their current national team players bar just three ex-international. If it was that easy why didn't we score more than 2 and conceded 1. I am so sure that team will defeat the Seychelles.

Don't tell me you just mention Congo just like that. Hahaha... It was Ekong's goal that separated a world cup bound team and the so called and underrated Congolese side.

If Nwakali can be invited on the back of his performance against an inconsequential match (ATM) why shouldn't Simy be retained after scoring Liberia.

Don't forget Club performance gets you noticed and invite but national team performance keeps you.

Ighalo's club performance got him the invite but he has repeatedly been poor in the GWG. So what is he waiting for?

who are they excusing for?

Bigger SMH for you people. You remind me of Oliseh when he was talking big on Super Sports about Keshi's team, the day Pinnick mistakenly gave him work, my guy enter team scatter everything come leave Siasia make e use eba join wetin e scatter

Talk is cheap.

You are talking of problems and you are not preferring solutions. If Ighalo and Iheanacho are excused, who you wan use replace them? Which strikers do we have doing it big? Do you think it is easy to remove players and replace them?

So, after the double header, our next game against SA, you will bring in NEW, UNTESTED, UNPROVEN strikers and HOPE they score goals on their DEBUT for the National team? Where in the world are things done like that?

Please, give us a list of five strikers that can replace those two, so, we will see how to reason with you.
I pray they deliver.

Imagine a scenario where both played the two matches as our point men and they failed again. Imagine other team members not scoring and we ended up with 2points. Imagine SA defeating Seychelles home and away.

By that time everyone eyes go open.

Ighalo has a record of a goal per year in the last 3years for the national team. What's the probability that he will score again having scored already this year. Same Ighalo has neither provided an assist in the Last 1 year nor win a penalty for us.

Nacho on the other hand too hasn't been anywhere close to be the deliverer for the past 1year. Don't you think trusting the duo again after Libya won't be hoping against all hopes?

We played SEYCHELLES and both struggled again. What is the assurance they will deliver against SA if they fail against Libya. Don't forget SA won us right there in our back yard with same Nacho clocking 70minutes plus.

We might not have the pool of players to displace them. But their presence is/will interfering with the few available(Musa and Success).

There is no way a conservative Rohr will think through with the two in camp. Their is no way he will find alternative solutions like.
-Tweaking the formation. Switching to the 3-5-2 or so.
-Starting Musa as top 9 or Success

The man on seeing the two will play his 4-2-3-1 just to accomodate one of them.

I hope you are seeing the effect of the inability of the duo to live up to expectations.

Nacho to be excused from wia? Goan excuse him naa... As if na Nacho go play 9 come Saturday. Nacho is part of the future of this team BIG TIME whether you lots here like it or not... He is not 29 and approaching his night time in the team.

Goodness me... Some thoughts ehn...
*smiles*

Let me remind you that the last time Nacho had a goal or assist for the SEs came last year November (that's 11 months) and if I'm not mistaken he has played in as many games as the SEs have played in the past months. That doesn't speak well for the caliber of talent he carries.

No doubt about is youthfulness and he still has a lot of years ahead of him. Don't you think 'excusing' him for sometime will do him a lot of good? Such exclusion may make him see reasons to work harder and come back to be relevant. Look at Musa for example. So many people wanted him out simply because he was in a dormancy state(he wasn't even getting game time but look how he grabbed the opportunity given to him and he played his way back into reckoning - presently he is an indisputable starter. But when it comes to Jude and Nacho na different story and what is good for the geese should also be good for the gander.

To be frank, I wasn't happy with Nacho's performance at the Mundial. Over pampering him and Ighalo won't help them at all.

One player Rohr hasn't been fair to is Simy. Of the two matches were he played 45 minutes or more, he was excellent, i.e against Congo and Liberia he hit the wood work once and scored in the other and now he has been dropped without us seeing what he can offer. Rohr has not been fair in the way he has been dealing with his players.

I believe if anyone is to be dropped for a new striker (Success), it should have been one of Ighalo and Iheanacho and not Simy.

Ighalo scored via penalty in his last game after missing so many begging chances, Nacho on the other hand hits the upright from a free kick(the highlights of their performances in 11months) No Nigerian players(strikers) has experienced such pampering like this two have enjoyed. This is what we called double standards which in turn promotes mediocrity.

Calling for them to be excused if they fail to deliver (which I don't pray) in the double header against Libya isn't too much to ask for.

Note:Had Tammy, don the GWG and performed below par just like these two and gets similar treatment as the above players, I am so sure that the cry of Nepotism and Favoritism will fill the social media pages.

In addition, they said he is useless from the wings. And yet most of his assists this season have come from the wings.
I also belong to the group that believed he was 'used-less' on the wings as he was our best bet in providing the needed support for the attack. When we had the two Moses and lacked a creative AMF and our attack was suffering from lack of supplies, Iwobi been a very good creative player with vision was suggested to be drafted behind the striker to help solve the problem of creativity the team was experiencing then and his performances in the friendly matches against Argentina, England and Poland where he was deployed to the center justified the claim then.

Happy Emery is getting the best out of him.

One thing that irks me most is our inability to learn from our past mistakes and we are hell bent on repeating them all over again and we expect to make progress.

SMH.

Prior to 2014 worldcup and post 2013 AFCON our strikers then(Emenike and Ideye) were experiencing goal drought we kept faith with them and were expecting a miracle from them at the Mundial. Late Keshi then dropped Ideye for a certain Shola Ameobi(a player who had 1 professional goal in 2years). These two players were preferred ahead of a red hot Obagoal who was turning heads in the MLS for Seattle Sounders. We all knew how the whole thing panned out. We qualified cos of luck and nothing more(to those who will like to dispute that should remember that, had Dzeko's goal had not been ruled for offside, your guess is as good as mine)

Fast forward to 2018 same scenerio played out both Ighalo and Kelechi were poor for the national team and we were all hoping they will hit form at the World Cup. You and I know how that too ended.

My major concern now is us sticking to these guys despite them not delivering post Russia the way we did with Emenike. Someone needs to sound some notes of warning to Rohr. We seem to be towing the same part again.

The federation too are not exempted from this attitude. They toyed with Alaba in 2007 today it is Eze I just hope we won't look back and regret it.

Make I stop here jare.

I'll like both Ighalo and Nacho to be excused from the national team if they both fail to deliver this coming double header. No one has the sole ownership to the national team.

Wishing them all the best.

charlesemeka85:
Arsenal legend Ian Wright reckons that Alex Iwobi's brilliant start to the season played a part in Arsenal withdrawing the four-year contract they had offered to 2016 European Championship star Aaron Ramsey.

Iwobi emerged as the game-changer when he replaced the Welshman in the 63rd minute of the Gunners 2-0 win over Watford on September 29 and manager Unai Emery rewarded him with a place in the starting line-up in the last game before the international break while Ramsey was named amongst the substitutes.

"We've seen him (Ramsey) in the Euros dominating when he was absolutely fantastic, we've seen the season (2013-14) he has with Arsenal scoring 20-plus goals and was amazing, we've seen he can score in big games, winning cup finals," Wright told BBC Radio 5 live.

''But in respect of a consistent performer for the season, making the difference in the league when he's needed? When was the last time he's done that?

"Are they going to pay the kind of money he probably wants when you've got someone coming through like Iwobi?

"The impact he's made in the last few games Iwobi, coming on and he's actually replaced Ramsey and he's made an impact.

"Maybe (Arsenal manager) Unai Emery has seen that."

Iwobi has made 106 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 10 goals with 22 assists, since he broke into the first team in the 2015-16 campaign.
Is it the same Iwobi some people have written off before the start of the season Or another one?

They told us how he will struggle to get playing time under Emery-the new Manger. Oga ooo.

Iwobi is far ahead of all his SEs compatriots within the same age bracket. But has not been receiving fair reviews from the media, fans and the SEs gaffer. Wasn't happy when he only managed 80mins of action through out the world cup and players like Kelechi and Ighalo who have been below par for the past 1year clocked more game time on the pitch.

Dude has weathered so many tough things during his hard times and now he is been refined to the desired product we've all been longing for.

We just hope he gets it right tactically.

But how come no creative Midfielder cos I'm so sure Iwobi will be on the wings

Rohr Recalls Success For Libya’s Double-head Clash
By Abubakar Yunusa , Abuja

Coach Gernot Rohr has handed Isaac Success a recall to the Super Eagles squad for the forthcoming back to back AFCON 2019 Qualifying matches against Libya, according to report.

Success last played for Nigeria in 2017 in a friendly game against Senegal and despite an impressive outing after coming on as a second half substitute, injuries, fitness and poor form has kept him out of the Nigerian team.

Since the start of the season, the 21 year old has turned a corner in terms of his fitness and performance as he has been involved with Watford, although mostly as a substitute in the league but in the Carabao Cup he scored twice for them before their exit in the hands of Tottenham Hotspurs on Wednesday.

Rohr is a big fan of the forward due to his physical attributes and ability to play on the flanks and as a top striker, a chance to stake a claim for a spot in the senior national team of Nigeria has now been handed to the forward.

He will be in the list of players which will be released on Tuesday against group leaders Libya in Uyo and later in Tunisia.

Meanwhile, Confederation of African Football (CAF) have finally approved NFF to have the Africa Cup of Nations’ first leg qualifier against Libya shifted to a new date and venue.

The confirmation from CAF came in a formal notification to Libyan Football Federation (LFF) that the first leg of their double-qualifier against Nigeria will now hold at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Saturday, October 13.

The formal notification from CAF to LFF in effect confirms that it will no longer hold at Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna on October 12, while the reverse fixture in the Group E tussle between both countries for 2019 AFCON tickets will now be on October 16 in Tunisia.

This is a major victory for Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, who repeatedly expressed concerns about the small size of Ahmadu Bello Stadium pitch.

Rohr buttressed his worries when he met top shots of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) during The Best FIFA Football Awards 2018 in London on September 24.

Incidentally, while the Franco-German feared that the ABS pitch is not up to standard and his players would not be comfortable playing on the turf, NFF top shots had already expressed worries about possible overcrowding by fans at the stadium in Kaduna.

It would be recalled that CAF slammed Nigeria with a $5,000 fine for allowing excess spectators at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium for an AFCON qualifier against Egypt in March 2016.
If this is true. Then I Came online at the right time.

But does the man has the gut to play him?

Success
Iwobi - Iheanacho - Simon/Henry/Kalu.
Mikel - Ndidi

What a dream set up that will be

Note: Gabriel was only able to best Nacho goals with 17 more full 90mins matches

Iheanacho mistake was staying so long in city when it has all been written all over the wall that Pep does not fancy/need him.
