Ibime: Yet Drogba was scoring 10 goals per season in his first 2 seasons and Mou fought for him over Shevchenko. Stop capping Who brought the idea of the widely-criticized 'park the bus' to football? Do you think such system would accommodate a striker that can't shoot well to save his life? Mou that sent Lukaku away for missing a Pk, would never tolerate a consistent big chances strangler like Jackson in his frontline. He wouldn't have made the bench, when we were not starved of funds. Back then, we were not creating the high volume of big chances as we are doing now. Jackson that couldn't score more than 1 goal in 18 matches for an attacking Senegal, wouldn't have scored 5 goals in that Mou setup,.

I don't want to see anybody supporting Jackson complain when Chelsea misses out of top 4. I didn't add Lordfalcao because i believe he started watching football when Falcao was hot. I put people that are supposed to know how reliable strikers should look like, having seen Hasselbaink, Drogba and Costa. |

The change is distributed goal action - support cast involvement. Tactics and balance of the game have become more important aspects, than the need to have a 30-goal striker, if said striker is bringing nothing else than goals.
You see the likes of Liverpool and Madrid showing that the no 9 is obsolete, competing and winning championships without a traditional 9.... meanwhile ninjahs still be screaming for top 9. Egbon you don work for INEC before? You know how to doctor list effortlessly. |

The question is whether Jota did or not, is he quite this top striker you keep claiming we need to mount a challenge?
Liverpool are not just only mounting a title challenge, they are THE CHALLENGE for everyone else across all competitions and they are doing it without half a striker.
Now tell us, how are they doing this? You doubted Jota being the point man, reason for your ignorant question. nateevs: Jota is Liverpool's point man? Even when it was explicitly stated that Jota played as the point man, you are still arguing blindly. I only respected you by answering with the formation that showed Jota playing as the point man in that game as i rightly stated. diggz: I agree, Jackson isn’t the right choice to be our main striker and definitely needs to be replaced with someone better.
Now, could you summarise what all our wingers did in that game? Especially the winger who earns £250k a week and still needs time to work on his shooting skills.
Lil Baby started the game yesterday. Can you highlight one thing Aba Ronaldo, aka Lil Baby, did to help us win or at least secure a point?
Like I mentioned earlier, I really hope we get Haaland or an even better striker than him. That way, we can outscore all the teams even if the wingers don’t do their job! Scoring goals is not the only job of wingers, but agreed they should be scoring. Madueke had shot on target that was forced to a corner unlike Jackson whose primary function is to score but was proving Mikel right. We don't need to sign Haaland before getting an upgrade of Jackson. We just need a finisher who will bury most of our chances and won't give us HBP anytime he faces the keeper. Jackson shouldn't be starting for any top 4 in Epl. |

nateevs: Jota up front for Liverpool is synonymous to Felix for us. So what am I forcing?
Jota upfront for Liverpool is in complete disagreement to the point that you made about these small teams being unable to be opened up, and hence a need for a top striker.
You replying by saying Jota is point man for Liverpool doesn't address that point.
The question remains, how does Liverpool do it? Liverpool is running away with the league. They don't have a striker. You have every right to see what you want to see, even when I attached a footer that states how Liverpool play and Jota and Nunez as their point men. You have every right to believe that we are still in 2024 as some Nigerians believed sometime ago that it wasn't Buhari at Aso rock that year and they were not arrested. diggz: Nkunku must be Jackson in your eyes. By the way, how many chances did all the wingers you recommended create yesterday?
Let’s pretend we didn’t know that the £250k-per-week winger you recommended still needs to practice his shooting, while Lil Baby dribbles aimlessly, with Ben Johnson running up and down like a headless chicken.
Hopefully, we can get Haaland as MJ's replacement, so we can lift the league with the tired legs we have as a supporting cast. Nkunku and Jackson are not natural strikers, i won't use anyone for a big team like Chelsea. Jackson entered in the 55th minute, all i was seeing was a striker unable to deal with long passes pumped to him. He was given 2 chances that he wasted. He skied one to the moon and the other he missed, such that Ibime only thanked God that they called it offside. While Jackson was busy wrecking havoc on Ibime's heart, Delap on the other end was wrecking havoc on the heart of our defence with goal, assist and shots on target. hensben: This is why i acknowledged your football knowledge. Some of this guys are not seeing what we are seeing. While we were winning I wasn’t carried away and still called out Jackson’s inability to shoot and lack of sense. If the coach can trust Guiu that area will experience improvement. There is a reason I don’t like half brain footballers like Sterling, Jackson and co, their uselessness shows in every game they feature in. Maresca had asked him to be more brave on the pitch, but you can't give what you don't have. I knew we could lose against Ipswich as any team that could be compact defensively and with a striker not as wasteful as Jackson, will have a chance against us. Just shut down the support casts, Jackson won't do jack. airmark: Against Everton, Nottingham's striker scored today.
Against Fulham, Bournemouth's striker scored today.
Against both Everton and Fulham, our own striker was missing big chances up and down and we lost 5 points.

lordfalcao: Jackson didn't start the game.
You should be already be two to three goals up, with goals from madueke and co before Jackson came on.
After all you don't need Jackson to win games. 40 minutes is enough for a good striker to make impressions but the only thing I remember he did was to miss a 1 v 1 that was later flagged as offside. He also shot one ball disgracefully to the stands. Jackson started matches or he didn't start, same output. Within 20 minutes of introduction, Muniz scored the winner against us. |
