Pls do not confuse oil producing states with the term Niger delta.
Nope I'm not. As far as I'm concerned, Niger Delta is compromised of parts of Delta State, All of Bayelsa and Rivers States and Parts of Akwa-Ibom.

But the NDDC says it covers way more than this

Its also an ijaw speaking state. That's one of the reasons why ondo state is termed a Niger delta state
Is the presence of Ijaw speakers also the reason why Abia and Imo states are called "Niger Delta" states? Ma friend goan find out why Obasanjo decided to call every southern oil producing state a Niger Delta State. Niger Delta now includes Lagos State. #expectingTheLagosArmy

You make me laugh.. really.
look, the fact that mama Jenifer at lagos uses manufactured leather to package her moimoi does not mean mama Ene somewhere at Ipole-owukpa cannot use banana leaves (of which gives the okpa / moimoi a more yummy taste ).

I bet you don't know saw dust can be used to cook in a stylish tin (a way more efficient than kerosene... no whiteman gave any "theory" for that... tws hard necessity of a naija person who never learnt physics ) .

white men never thought us how to make fire... though our ancestors ate roasted meat!.

The cocoa we planted before the arrival of the white men was natural and healthy (they stole some and brought bournvita... brought bqck some genetically modified (dangerous ) species... brought back theories of 'best ways to plant cocoa ' - WTF... did they give us those useless theories before they stole our naturally cultivated cocoa? ...(before I forget my last bracket - for a proper nesting , let me add it ))

We had cotton, we used cotton to spin yerns to simple clothing - no theories.

we were intelligent enough to make and shoot arrows without knowledge of projectiles... we killed animals without angle of projection.

When I was in the U.S, I usually got some old folks drunk and saw how some...

(I Don vex. I'll charge my battery and come back ) OP - Iam sorry sha
You are further butressing my point. Our forebears were mediocre shooting arrows, the white man with a better understanding of the theory of projectiles decided to make guns. Their guns made them top-notch big game killers while our forbears killed small game. You know I can kill more big game with a gun than with a bow and arrow.

And you shot yourself mentioning Cocoa. We locked the beans while those with better understanding of the theory of biochemistry made chocolates which command considerably more financial value. Their so-called

We roasted meat with fire while better knowledge of theory showed that you can harness the power of fire to do more than roast meat. You can roast a whole city of your enemies with less effort. Heck you can make fireworks that will hold people spell bound.

For crying out loud it was knowledge of theory that made us realise that we can cut wood in more efficient ways before sawdust can even be obtained. Even the knowledge that banana leaves can be used to wrap moimoi is knowledge of theory. Why didn't they use any leave like pawpaw leave or the leaves of the fruit we call "fruit" (called Indian Almond in English or Ebelebor in Warri/Benin pidgin)

My friend without theory you can go thus far, with theory you can go farther than "thus far". That's the difference between an Average programmer and a top-notch programmer. We shouldn't be satisfied with mediocrity. We should aspire for excellence.

A clear example of a top-notch software is Moodle, a widely used Virtual Learning Environment. While most Nigerian programmers will want to build from scratch a VLE, top notch developers (and lazy people like me) take moodle and use it in very diverse ways than the originator intended. I for example use Moodle to conduct a variety of Computer-Based exams that the average Nigerian programmer won't ever think of. Knowledge of theory my friend is very crucial

Oboy, you should be more intelligent than this na... na war for you oo.

…yes, there MAY be no electricity...there would have been something better! (so sad students go to school improving on those ancient stuffs... not many realize they could invent a primary thing any longer ).

Look, before the white men came to spoil us with their technology... we had ours. We had things they actually stole the idea... if the white man hadn't brought an airplane.... one day, an African would have made something that's not an airplane... but flies like one (and used it to discover those white men ).
Sincere white men said if they had left us. our innovations would have been unbeatable.
Oneday, if you're oppotuned to see an alien plannet with intellectual / intelligent beings like us. you would be amazed.

1. There would be no 'electricity ' because there was no... ...some kind of crazy intelligent scientists
2. There would be no 'what we call car... maybe something better or worse.
3. ...

...oboy no talk like that abeg.

...
I laugh when people hypothesise. Something better? Like? The fact remains those guys built the theory on which electricity is based on. My point really is that without the theory there won't be any practice. If there is no computer science theory there is no programming. If you don't know how the theory works, you can never be a top notch programmer. This is the point

Are you from Aragba ......and this your statement Stupid wicked maternal kinsmen of mine......na wa oooo
My late mum was from Aragba. Never went there until she died. And I had to go as her eldest son. She grew up there and as a mother never let any of us her kids there. The villagers there are still pursuing me upandan to come and do somethings I have absolutely no plans of doing. Surprisingly my mum let me to her own mother's village Idjere (or Jesse as they want to call it in English). I feel more at home there than even in my dad's village. I am not one that believes that village people are witches and wizards o, but Aragba people showed me that there is that possibility. Still like them as they switch from Urhobo to Ukwani flawlessly

Write books and write a dictionary. Get others involved. Have someone organise classes for language and culture studies targeting the young ones. Just keep me in the loop.
There used to be a book called "Y'ono Urhobo" published by Macmillan back in the day. Used to be the Gold standard for learning Urhobo as it taught the generic (Agbarho) Urhobo. Very difficult to find these days. However with children more attuned to TV and smartphones these days, I think something more aligned to these platforms will be more beneficial. For Urhobo and Isoko although Isoko like to distance themselves from Urhobo

Our parents really are the problem. They were scared that learning Urhobo side by side with English will probably damage our English. But what I find really amazing is that my mum who was a real "Ogburhobo" growing up spoke English without the Urhobo problem associated with shursh (church) or jenerator (Generator). My dad has a slight problem with "sh" though but that's only if you critically listen to him. They speak excellent English and very dangerous Urhobo even switching into deep dialect for further effect. But aside from my ability to tell Udu and Ughievwen Urhobo apart, my ability to speak is atrocious even though I understand appreciably well

[b] The truth is that this is happening because urhobo is regarded as an inferior language by even urhobo themselves. That is why the greatest urhobo man and one of our founding fathers cheif okotie eboh went and denounced his race then applied to become and itshekiri man...ceremonies where done accepting him into the itsekiri fold and he forever dissociated himself from the lowly urhobos even though they have the highest population in delta state.
Urhobos are mostly regarded as poorly educated and local thinking savages and have been dominated historically by the itshekiris and ijaws. They possess no oil and are not good farmer and historically serve the superior itshekiris and during the biafran wars supported the nigerian side leading to the masscre of their compatriots who are the delta igbos. It is a thing of pride for an urhobo man to be mixed by blood to itshekiri or better still igbos or yorubas and they are so ashamed of their heritage if not untill recently that their nollywood guys have started embracing it.
They are the abokis of the nija delta and would remain so for a very long time or they should just allow themselves to be assimilated by the larger or more prestigious language groups like igbos or itshekiris

First of all, a 5star rating on Google play doesn't equate to been a top programmer. Can you for example tell me what algorithm/algorithms you have chosen to deploy in your apps, the reason behind your choices and say efficiency of your chosen algorithms. Why have u chosen to develop on Android and not sat on iPhone were there are more stringent requirements for memory utilisation.

Do you for example understand what machine learning or neural networks are and how you can optimally deploy them in building advanced apps that can learn from their "experiences"?

And know I never said you can never been a top-notch programmer if you are self taught. I said you can never be a top-notch programmer if you do not know the theory of computer science. Whether you decide to teach your self the theory or learn it via an academic program is not the crux of my argument. My point is that without the theory you can never go far

You need to look at the syllabus of modern computer science programmes before you start running your mouth. We need the academicians to formulate the theories on which the practicals are built. Imagine Einstein didn't come up with his theory of relativity, which stupid person would have had a basis to build something practical when the foundation wasn't there in the 1st place. Although this is laudable, I want to believe it's purely for educational purposes before people start claiming it would translate to a cheaper source for the production of the said crude derivatives.

If I remember clearly, this is basic chemistry - pyrolysis.

The breakdown of the plastics to derive those hydrocarbons would require an extensive separation technique if it's to be done on an industrial scale and wouldn't be cost effective in any way.

#My2cents
You said it all! Scale this up for industrial production and the cost will be prohibitive. There's still a reason why crude oil is king
