a friend was once in the same shoe, she was told that Xiaomi parts are not in Nigeria, so she decided to go with the devil she know, and the devil is showing her pepper now.

I started using RN4x in 2017 and Redmi note 7 a year ago, both are still strong and I've never for once open the two devices till dated.

Xiaomi devices are nice, and i don't think u will be needing their parts once you can handle them well.

finally, critically evaluate what u want in a phone, and if there is any Xiaomi device that tick all the boxes, then you won't regret buying their device..... the choice is yours
Fan, you just sounded as if they can't get the parts to buy here or there's no where to repair it here.... Which one be you're not sure she'll be needing the parts?, if the phone by mistake fall from table, will you be there to catch it so the screen won't shatter?.

My opinion, if you're buying an s9 plus in 2020 there's a high probability it's used. If you buy a new phone and it gets a fault, you might conclude it's factory defect or something else. But if it's used you might think it's from the former user. A used phone will have a weaker battery due to charges, and the s9 plus's 3500mah plus that 2k screen means battery life won't be great. But if you can manage.

Remember the s9 plus has been updated from android 8 to 10, which means 11 or above might be slim. So if you don't care about software updates, it's okay.

There are people even using S6 self, so if you don't care about the shortcomings of a two year old flagship, then by all means get it. But for nice new phones at its price, check:

1: mi 9t pro
2: realme X2 pro
3: oppo Reno
4: Huawei nova 5t
5: OnePlus 7 or pro
6: Samsung galaxy a71
7: Samsung galaxy a51
Lol... He said 100K oooo

Despite the Fact that the price of the RN9S in Nigeria were displayed during the Launch, the Official Xiaomi Social Media Platforms has refused to give in to that... They keep saying the official Price would be announced soon.... Does it mean that they are not going with the price displayed during the Launch?, are they planning to increase or reduce it?

Lol.

In all seriousness though. They are just okay-ish.

The Dimensity lineup is good. The G line up is sketchy. The P series died when they started using PowerVR GPUs.

They are still using the 12nm process for the G series whilst the industry has since moved on (their Dimensity uses 7nm+ though). The new Kirin 8xx series are using 7nm+, SD is using 8nm for midrange SoCs and Exynos will soon drop a new 6nm SoC, whilst Huawei's 5nm Kirin should come out next year.

This benchmark cheating put Mediatek on the spot. Even Xiaomi couldn't use sports mode to sell the RN9. Why do I say this, G80 and G85 scored exactly the same. If not for the scandal, I can bet you that the RN9 would have posted about 15% higher benchmark scores than the G80. That's not to say the G80 wasn't among the SoC with this cheat feature. So, I'd say forget about Mediatek series that are not Dimensity and buy Snapdragon if you want peace of mind.

Quote this message when someone will say his PES gets 60fps on RN8 but it is lagging on RN9.

I rest my fingers. tongue

PS: IMO. I very much hope to be wrong.
Duuude, Why naaaa?... I was considering the Note 9, you just Killed my entire intentions cry sad

Not at all, in microchips technology the smaller the size(transistors) the more efficient they are.
If u can make a transistor smaller, you can double the operating frequency with lesser power consumption by doubling the no of transistors in a space. Generally the smaller the chips are the more power efficient and more processing power the manufacturer can squeeze inside it.

Let me give u example, if transistor is 30nm ( nanometre) and another is 5nm and you have about 100 nm space to work with. You will only fits in about 3units of 30nm transistor while you can fits in 20units of 5nm transistors in thesame space. In that aspect u have multiplied the power of such IC or if u dont need the output power of 20units of the transsitor, u have a whole 85nm empty space to perform the same function.

So smaller transistors means smaller IC and smaller IC means less bulky gadgets, less power consumption and better efficiency.
So meaning, the 11nm on RN8's SD665 is more efficient than this 12nm G85

Guys, the SD 720G on Note 9S and Pro is 8nm, while the MTK G85 on the Note 9 is 12nm.... What's the Difference?, does it mean the Process Technology on Note 9 is better because of the higher nm?

Love it or hate it, it's an upgrade. The G70 was made to compete with the 665. The G85 would probably be to compete with SD 712. Don't let your MediaTek hate cloud your judgement. I don't like MediaTek either but I can't be biased. I am waiting to see how well it performs but I put it in the SD712 range, 220k AnTuTu.

Also, it will carry 2 A75 cores that are significantly more powerful than the 4 A73 on the 654

For comparison...SD 665 v SD712.

We'll have to wait a couple of days to see early performance reviews but I can bet it will be significantly better.
Baba, all these Yarns na Ogbono... We all know MTK dey cheat for benchmark... So I no dey believe all these their numbers again

Redmi Note 9 Pro max will go global today. Also, the Redmi Note 9 would be unveiled. The press renders have been outed.

For those with a tighter budget, I think the RN9 is going to be a decent upgrade.

Differences btw 9 and 9s, Helio G85, 6.53" display (FHD+), 2MP Macro, 13MP selfie camera, Plastic back (12nm in glass with no active cooling...disaster), rear fingerprint scanner and 2 variants (3/64 and 4/128GB)

What you are asking about is a phone's screen refresh rate, and it is independent of the display technology used (IPS, OLED, AMOLED). Normal phone screens have a refresh rate of 60Hz (Hz is a measure of frequency, in cycles per second), while better screens have faster refresh rates. Faster screen refresh rates (90Hz, 120Hz, 144Hz) translate into smoother, more fluid, and a more eye pleasing experience on a screen. Faster refresh rates are most suitable for fast moving content on your screen, like games. Funny enough, most content on phone screens don't even run at 60Hz; most visual content is usually capped at 30Hz with the option to bump up to 60Hz if desired.
All this eye candy comes at a price though, your phone's battery life. Higher screen refresh rates consume more battery power. Note also that screen refresh rates apply to all screen types; computer monitors, televisions, and laptop screens, to name a few.
Oh Wow, so Detailed... Thanks, I get now... Technically only Flagship phones comes with 90Hz and above
PhonesRe: The Xiaomi Thread. by AirVaans(m): 7:50pm On Apr 28, 2020
Olamyyde:
It refers to the refresh rate of the screen(either lcd or amoled). Most phones come with the standard 60Hz refresh rate. A 90Hz screen will appear smoother and faster to the eyes than a 60Hz screen.

Higher refresh sucks battery tho.
Oh OK OK, I understand
