5. 14-year old Kano child bride, faces death penalty for allegedly killing husband
Wasilat Tasi'u is on trial for the murder of her 35-year-old husband, Umar Sani, who died after eating food that Tasi'u allegedly laced with rat poison.

"We are appealing to the judge to consider Wasilat's plea," her father, Isyaku Tasi'u, told The Associated Press on Thursday.
On Wednesday witnesses told the High Court in Gezawa, a town 60 miles outside Nigeria's second largest city of Kano, that Tasi'u killed her husband two weeks after their wedding in April. Three others allegedly died after eating the poisoned meal.
The prosecution, led by Lamido Soron-Dinki, senior state council from the Kano State Ministry of Justice, is seeking the death penalty.
The case calls into question the legality of trying a 14-year-old for murder under criminal law and the rights of child brides, who are common in the poverty-stricken, predominantly Muslim northern Nigeria region.

4. Nigerian man detained in mental institute in Kano 'because he renounced Islam'

Mubarak had been detained and medicated at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano State since June 13th by his family after he declared he does not believe in God, despite being raised in a Muslim family in Kano. Reports say when Mr Bala told his family he did not believe in God, they took him to a doctor and asked if he was mentally ill. After the doctor dismissed claims of psychiatric problems, Mubarak’s family alleged that he also made delusional claims that he was a “governor”. They are then believed to have taken him to a second doctor who claimed Bala was suffering with a personality disorder, so he was sent to the psychiatric hospital.

However, communicating by email and Twitter from a secreted smartphone, Mubarak Bala was able to raise the alarm that he was been held against his will and activists were able to come to his rescue. After his release, Bala took to his social media pages to thank everyone who campaigned for his release, saying he now wants to reconcile with his family. And that he also wants to leave the predominantly Muslim north of Nigeria after receiving death threats for blaspheming against Islam.

3. Pregnant Pakistani woman stoned to death by her family
As a crowd watched outside a courthouse in May 30, this year, the family of a pregnant Pakistani woman beat her to death because she married the man she loved instead of her cousin. The 25-year-old woman's father, brother and spurned fiance were among about a dozen male relatives who used bricks and clubs in the so-called honor killing of Farzana Parveen for disobeying her family's wishes. She suffered massive head injuries and was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Lahore police charged her father, Mohammad Azeem, with murder, and the others were being sought. Azeem told police he helped kill his daughter because she had shamed the family.
"I killed my daughter as she had insulted all of our family by marrying a man without our consent, and I have no regret over it," police investigator Rana Mujahid quoted him as saying.
Parveen was attacked as she and her husband, Mohammad Iqbal, arrived at the gates of the Lahore High Court. They went there to dispute charges brought by her father that Iqbal had kidnapped Parveen, who had been engaged to her cousin for several years.
Iqbal, 45, was a widower with five children when he began seeing Parveen, he told the Associated Press.
"We were in love," he said.

Iqbal alleged her family wanted to extort money from him before following through with the arranged marriage to her cousin.
Every year, hundreds, perhaps thousands, of Pakistani women are killed by their families for actual or imagined adultery or premarital sex. Public stoning is rare, however.
Last month, the private Human Rights Commission of Pakistan reported that 869 women were victims of honor killings in 2013.

2. Six Iranian youths arrested and sentenced for dancing.
If you think the first one was ridiculous wait until you read this story of how Six Iranians were arrested in February this year for appearing in a video dancing to Pharrell Williams' song “Happy” were sentenced to up to one year in prison and 91 lashes.
The sentences were later suspended for three years, meaning they will not go to prison unless they reoffend. The video shows three men and three unveiled women dancing on the streets and rooftops of Tehran.

In six months, it has been viewed by over one million people on YouTube. The majority of people involved in the video were sentenced to six months in prison, with one member of the group given one year, lawyer Farshid Rofugaran was quoted by Iran Wire as saying.
The "Happy we are from Tehran" video was brought to the attention of the Iranian authorities in May, after receiving more than 150,000 views.
Members of the group behind the video were subsequently arrested by Iranian police for violating Islamic laws of the country, which prohibit dancing with members of the opposite sex and women from appearing without a headscarf.

They later appeared on state-run TV saying they were actors who had been tricked into make the Happy video for an audition.
The arrests drew condemnation from international rights groups and sparked a social media campaign calling for their release.
Williams, whose song was nominated for an Oscar earlier this year, also protested at the arrests.
"It is beyond sad that these kids were arrested for trying to spread happiness," he wrote on Facebook.

Religion is a major issues of great concern both in Nigeria and the outside world. The controversies surrounding pastors and men of God are on the increase and many are tagging it "end time things". Here are some decisions/Judgments taken by some Islamic leaders and family members in 2014 that aroused public attention and agitation.

1. Sudanese woman sentenced to death for converting to Christianity

Toping the list, though in no particular order is the story of Mariam Yahya Ibrahim who in May 2014 was sentenced to death by a Sudanese court for converting to Christianity. She was ordered to abandon her newly adopted Christian faith and return to Islam. She was also charged with adultery for marrying a Christian man and to be flogged 100 lashes for it. However, her plight captured the world’s attention, with international outcry against her pending execution. After giving birth while in chains, it appeared that Ibrahim would be allowed to leave for the United States, where her husband (a South Sudanese man) is a naturalized citizen. But when she attempted to do, she was re-arrested and the Sudanese government claimed she possessed forged documents. After the intervention of Italy she was able to leave the country

Dumb argument. When 90% of a problem is caused by a particulr group, you are still mentioning the exceptions that are individual related. You better wake up and smell the coffee before you loose your land through ignorance. Most Christians want to be sympathetic with Muslims as history has always shown, then gradually they loose their freedom.

100% will usher in the peace of "Dar-es-Salaam" – the Isla mic House of Peace – there's supposed to be peace because everybody is a Muslim:
Afghanistan – Muslim 100%
Saudi Arabia – Muslim 100%
Somalia – Muslim 100%
Yemen – Muslim 99.9%
Of course, that's not the case. To satisfy their blood lust, Muslims then start killing each other for a variety of reasons.
"Before I was nine I had learned the basic canon of Arab life. It was me against my brother; me and my brother against our father; my family against my cousins and the clan; the clan against the tribe; and the tribe against the world. And all of us against the infidel. -- Leon Uris, "The Haj”
It is good to remember that in many, many countries, such as France, the Muslim populations are centered around ghettos based on their ethnicity. Muslims do not integrate into the community at large. Therefore, they exercise more power than their national average would indicate.
PoliticsRe: Why I Will Never Vote Islam Into Power by ajoguegbe(op):
From 5% on they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population.
They will push for the introduction of halaal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims. They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature it on their shelves – along with threats for failure to comply. (United States).
France – Muslim 8%
Philippines – Muslim 5%
Sweden – Muslim 5%
Switzerland – Muslim 4.3%
The Netherlands – Muslim 5.5%
Trinidad & Tobago – Muslim 5.8%
At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves under Sharia, the Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islam is not to convert the world but to establish Sharia law over the entire world.

When Muslims reach 10% of the population, they will increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions (Paris – car burnings). Any non-Muslim action that offends Islam will result in uprisings and threats (Amsterdam – Mohammed cartoons).
Guyana – Muslim 10%
India – Muslim 13.4%
Israel – Muslim 16%
Kenya – Muslim 10%
Russia -- Muslim 10-15%

After reaching 20%
expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings and church and synagogue burning:
Ethiopia – Muslim 32.8%
At 40% you will find widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks and ongoing militia warfare:
Bosnia – Muslim 40%
Chad – Muslim 53.1%
Lebanon – Muslim 59.7%

From 60% you may expect unfettered persecution of non-believers and other religions, sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels:
Albania – Muslim 70%
Malaysia – Muslim 60.4%
Qatar – Muslim 77.5%
Sudan – Muslim 70%

After 80% expect State run ethnic cleansing and genocide:
Bangladesh – Muslim 83%
Egypt – Muslim 90%
Gaza – Muslim 98.7%
Indonesia – Muslim 86.1%
Iran – Muslim 98%
Iraq – Muslim 97%
Jordan – Muslim 92%
Morocco – Muslim 98.7%
Pakistan – Muslim 97%
Palestine – Muslim 99%
Syria – Muslim 90%
Tajikistan – Muslim 90%
Turkey – Muslim 99.8%
United Arab Emirates – Muslim 96%

PoliticsRe: Why I Will Never Vote Islam Into Power by ajoguegbe(op):
Islam is a Complete System

A few years ago, I posted the following and a lot of poeple called me an Islamophobe.

For the sake of clarity, we must understand that though there are moderate Muslims, there is no such thing as moderate Islam. Islam is radical.

The figures below are from seven years ago.

Islam has religious, legal, political, economic and military components. The religious component is a beard for all the other components.

Islamization occurs when there are sufficient Muslims in a country to agitate for their so-called "religious rights."

When politically correct and culturally diverse societies agree to "the reasonable" Muslim demands for their "religious rights," they also get the other components under the table. Here's how it works (percentages source CIA: The World Fact Book [2007]).

As long as the Muslim population remains around 1% of any given country they will be regarded as a peace-loving minority and not as a threat to anyone. In fact, they may be featured in articles and films, stereotyped for their colorful uniqueness:
United States – Muslim 1.0%
Australia – Muslim 1.5%
Canada – Muslim 1.9%
China – Muslim 1-2%
Italy – Muslim 1.5%
Norway – Muslim 1.8%

At 2% and 3% they begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs:
Denmark – Muslim 2%
Germany – Muslim 3.7%
United Kingdom – Muslim 2.7%
Spain – Muslim 4%
Thailand – Muslim 4.6%

PoliticsWhy I Will Never Vote Islam Into Power by ajoguegbe(op):
Believe me 70% of visitors towill not read this before they comment because they are already a captive of the system. This write up is an extract from Dr. Peter Hammond's book: Slavery, Terrorism. It x-rays a system called Islam. Me voting a Muslim is like strengthening an arm of the system. The most dangerous Muslims are not the terrorists but the intelligence arm(the educated and politically motivated ones) One Sanusi can fight to establish Islamic banking and rubbish the presidency via media; one pedophile called Yerima can bring sharia and spread it whole North before our eyes. As more and more Christians keep thinking there is nothing wrong with the rise of Islam in power they keep giving up the future of their children. Get it clear, Islam plans long term while most Christians plan short term. Buhari will not Islamize Nigeria now but he will set the foundation. I am not a politician, I am only concerned about the future of our children. I am concerned about my daughter growing up in a nation where it is legal for her to be married out at 11; where there is no freedom of expression, and grand human rights violation. You may want to study history and see how erstwhile christian nations like Syria became 80% Islam..Its a process...
Read on and see how it works...

Number 2 is what I've tried to sink into some of the buharist head, they just can't get it, how can a general in the army borrow money to build a house? So goodluck to all those that came to insult, if you really have values, it would have shown in how you use words, but you are just blind followers who are ready to kill and even die for no good reason
PoliticsWhy I Will Not Vote Buhari Even Though I Voted Him B4 by ajoguegbe(op):
I voted Buhari in the last election because I believed he will fight corruption Nigeria's biggest problem. I will not make that mistake again. Here is why
1. Sectionalism: Buhari has failed to carry a major tribe along in his campaign-The Igbos. It is as if he is not even concerned about their vote or voice-hence his not trying-a failed attempt is justifiable enough. For a group of people most widely traveled and scattered in almost every part of Nigeria, they would need assurance that they would be voting a leader that will make policies to accommodate their versatility. Yet he doesn't even campaign in the South East. I think we need a president that will be accepted by all tribes and religion, even if it is just a minority from that tribe. I loved someone that suggested Obi Ezekewesili as a running mate to him. She's Igbo, She's Christian, She's a woman, She's no-nonsense. I believe she would have balanced the equation.

2. Borrowing lifestyle: While the general masses who are not into building enterprises will actually think that being poor is a form of piety- I beg to differ. A true leader must succeed in other areas like business, social works etc. If after many years of "affecting lives", Buhari has not built enough social capital to support his ambition or even have someone that will even build him a house just in appreciation then I doubt his credibility and reliability. He borrows money to build houses, to pick form etc. Its either he was not affecting lives or he does not know how to manage and multiply resources, or he lives above his means( if you must borrow, let it be to invest in business, not to build houses. It is dangerous to hand over the wealth and aspirations of over 170 million people to such a man as he will assume that every rich man is a thief. He may kill corruption but will also kill the economy with it

3. Aged and Old fashioned: Buhari is not in tune with the changing times due to his age. Imagine someone in this modern times declaring cows as his asset. In his recent vociferous declaration of asset he said he cannot stay without cows, so he has 20 of them (Never seen a man with 20pets). I want a leader that understands and uses computer, internet, social media etc. You can't fight modern corruption without such knowledge. 21st Century fraud has gone online, only a young man in tune with technology can fight it. Passion without knowledge will result to foolishness. Many will steal you dry without touching physical cash but with one click of the mouse

4. Void of true leadership ideals: At that age and with the positions he has handled in government, he is supposed to have raised so many Buhari's from the North-men empowered and baptized with the same rugged principles and values he believes. The reason killing Jesus did not stop Jesus is that he has raised 12 other men as ‘dangerous’ as he was. At 30 Jesus could boldly say that his mission is mission is finished something Buhari cannot say at 71. He still weeps that he is not given opportunity to rule. We don't just need a leader, we need a mentor that is what leadership is all about-INFLUENCE.

5. High handedness: In as much as we want someone that will fight corruption, we still don't need a brutal fellow that acts out of emotion but one that does it out of wisdom. The innocent can suffer along with the guilty just because a man wants to prove a point. It is better for 5 guilty people to go free than for one innocent person to suffer. I have seen prophets beheaded because one king wants to show that he is a man of his words. Buharis toughness may have worked in the military era not in democracy where it has to pass through the Houses of Assembly(another bunch of corrupt leaders). He stands the risk of being impeached

Nairaland GeneralRe: If You Didn't Do Any Of These, Your Childhood Wasn't Fun! by ajoguegbe(m): 11:42pm On Dec 10, 2014
I grew up in the North Kano and did 85% of these.
We even used to flee school when we hear that gbomo gbomo is on visit.

I rode borits which used to be our official car while someone will be behind to push it

During Christmas like this we fed an extracted plug with match and made knock out from it for those without money to buy banger and flying rocket(forgotten the name)

The story making the rounds was that Zik was holding the key to river niger and we Igbos used to be proud and boastful of it

We were also proud that Arthur Nzeribe was river than Nigeria

We made boats and kite from paper. It was a creative generation of childhood. These days children merely sit idly behind foreign made computer games. I fear for the next generation

So you mean you can't view the Islam board? You can't view Islam threads that made frontpage? If they are recruiting terrorists fighters you wouldn't know? shocked And even the Admin of the site wouldn't know? What are you saying? Explained those statement.

Once I said I wasn't a Muslim I stopped seeing the thread. Why must there be compulsion in this form of religion? I consider this an e form of compulsion where the innocent unsuspecting visitor agrees to what he knows nothing about only to find a demonic force attracting him to kill for a belief- that blood sucking demon is called jihad. Do you think this people killing innocent citizens are normal? Not at all, they are possessed

Mind you 99.5% of non Muslims have nothing to do with the Islam section. I will not be surprised if someone start a thread with a deceptive title but in the 2nd to 3rd page of their discussion they go deeper into something heinous. The thread will go on for a long time with nobody knowing what is going on.
