They way you carry yourself matters regardless if you doing uber or not . They way you look outside is a representation of how you feel inside..
100% right... But some fellas won't even notice your carriage.

This issue of rider-driver relationship.

Most times before a rider will behave rudely to u..they would have accesed your dressing, countenance and the way u speak. If u dress well, speak well and have a good carriage. 98% of riders will respect u.
This is the beginning of how you will definitely be addressed. 100% right....

However, there are still those one who doesn't care one bit.

Madame Radauto, it is waste of time explaining customers service to these drivers. Most of them can't work in a customer service industry in the USA...

On these matter me and you can relate .. Due to the fact not only on education level, not saying uber drivers are not educated. but been exposed internationally .. Since some unfortunately has never travel out of the shore of Nigeria .. It will be very hard for them to relate to you....
Not so good a thing to say bro... I respect your exposure and level of education. However, it's unfair to use that in the manner you did.

You just politely insulted some fellas in here, just like me saying if not that I am not used to insulting my friends, I would have said that this your post is a stupid post.

Let's try to respect each other, despite the fact we know each other's level and capacity. We are all here to share experiences and learn from each other.

.

One does not negate the other. Yes, they paid to be the boss from point A to B but even bosses have rules of decorum. It's the reason why bosses shouldn't be slapping employees. They are still in charge but are expected to behave a certain way. This is the service industry. If one cannot humble themselves and give service, they are in the wrong industry. This is the wrong industry for someone who wants to be in charge all the time.
Good morning house... Please I need to ask, does being humble in rendering a service mean you should allow a customer render the space unusable for the next customer? I mean, these guys will eat and litter the whole place with food grease and crumbs. Imagine if after changing the diapers, the next rider comes in and is stained with baby poo. How you wan take keep mouth apologize to the rider.

Good morning guys, hope your night was great.

Read the post on Lastma nonsense... I feel we are just ignorant of the law. No one can and should be allowed to cow you into parting ways with your money on flimsy accusations of breaking traffic laws. Try to be smart and abide with the traffic laws while doing pick ups and drop offs.

Thanks for the heads up though, now we know and should employ caution.

If you get a request, on no account should you allow a rider make you pick them up or drop them off at 'No Parking Zone'... Always tell them to move down to a better position to avoid obstructing traffic in anyway.

On the issue of eating in a car, I had a boss who is against eating in the office and my woman is against eating in the bedroom. Those places are not meant for eating food. The canteen or dinning is meant for that.

Hence, drivers should try to avoid eating in their car or keep empty plates or food bags in their cars. Politely tell a rider that your car is a non smoking or eating zone. Preferably, use a sticker and place it where it will be visible.

I know that Nigerians have no shame and are lawless, but if we all start employing this, it will go a long way in sending a strong message to the riders.

How would a rider feel, entering a car littered with food particles and stains. This should be a direct question you need to always ask those who will want to have string heads.

Let's not always be too anxious to make money, if we desire some amount of respect, then we should be ready to make some few sacrifices. Believe me, a rider you caution against these things will definitely behave on their next ride.

This is just my opinion, what do I know Kwan, am just gearing up to enter the hustle.

Good morning my big Ogas in the house... Hope we all had a good night.

My neighbor came back yesterday and enquired on how far I have gone with the car hunt. Told him I have actually decided to lay low for now and allow the festive season to sail through.

He has a car (Camry) he rented out to a driver who got into trouble due to greed. He offered to fix the AC this week or next, so that I can make use of the car while I learn the ropes and routes in Abuja. It was the best news for me yesterday.

We have not discussed terms yet, but I wish to grab this opportunity rather than sitting ideal at home or buying a snake as a car.

Least I forget, the ex driver picked up a passenger who forgot/left a bag in the back seat. When the driver noticed it, he opened it and saw Dollars inside. He decided to keep it in his boot. Then continued with his hustle, probably day dreaming how he was going to blow.

Minutes later, he was waved down by police, which rarely happen in Abuja. They searched his car and found the bag. It was discovered the currency was a fake one and he was arrested. However, no case was made nor was he taken to court after 48hrs. Rather, he was placed on a bail of 50k and car 100k (now it is suspected that the police are involved in that con).

Please be careful while driving, always check your cae to be sure no strange item was dropped in your car. Preferably, always form the habit of cleaning your car and dusting the foot mat after every trip. It will go a long way in saving you from some of these con people.

that your driver is either a new driver or a born-again. I won't say much since you'll join the hustle soon. You'll come back here to apologize to the driver. Who no go no go know.
And what are you trying to say... That you started a trip and ended the trip, which then caused the rider to be charged is fare? And taking his money without giving the service which you have been credited for is cool.

That's pure ripping off by tricks.

If you have accepted a trip without enquiring weda it's a card or cash trip due to reasons beat known to you, then you must complete the trip. There is no need forming a bully on this.

That's how I see it. Moreover, if you were the rider you no go gree.

Don’t worry it’s good you have an intention to come into the hustle soon I only pray it’s sooner by then you’ll should understand better that things work better than said. By then you should understand it’s wrong to ask your rider on phone weather it’s card or cash trip, by then you would understood it even wrong to ask your rider h/h destination so long it’s not past 9pm by then also you would understand why you as a driver will only Know it’s a card trip just after starting the trip, by then you would understand how painful it is to swallow your pride as a MSc/BSc/B.Eng holder driving some worthless girls call “runs” girls who the only thing they know how to do best is pure the pains they get from all their clients on the guy who chose to do a legit hustle, by then you would understand many more bro by then you will understand.

Start now please I beg you
Read and understand my post. Never said ask anything through phone.

You’re right on point, these riders always think they’re Kong’s at all times... on a Monday morning and maybe that was his first trip and he needs some money to probably buy some fuel for his day work. The driver was even kind enough self to even give him 4h as refund me I won’t do it.

Funny thing is, bolt will not credit you any money below 2k but own you till the next week till it’s above 2k yet they will block you if you own them above 2k. It’s annoying I must say.

For me though, I don’t border if it’s card or cash, after all, you need the card to pay off for commission so why reject it after all
Riders forming Kongs? Coming from a one time rider or still a rider abi. See bah, what is not right is not right and should be condemned.

Am aspiring to be a driver soon and have learnt alot from the experiences shared here by drivers and riders alike. This is something I wouldn't want to do to any rider and won't want that to happen to me. If I wasn't paying attention, got a prompt debit alert and understood the workings of the system, he would have just smiled as he left the scene abi.

Now na you come dey form Kong ni... Why would you take money without rendering the service you accepted to render, just cos it's a card trip and the rider is on bonus? Then still dey claim alaye unto the person money. Boss no reason am ooo, cos you fit buy big market with refusal to refund. Carry am go Sharia court sef, na chopping off of hand you go get.

Let's just learn to be careful sha and do the right thing. If you don't want a card trip cos of reasons best known to you, I believe it's best to ask the rider first, cos no be everybody dey carry money for hand dey Waka about. I moved round Lagos for 3 days without a dime on me from 8am to say 7pm and always on the road through out those hours.

Now, what would you call a driver who accepted a request, then immediately clicked on arrived, after calling me and confirming my location? Probably he was far from me.

There is no way the driver will know it's a card trip if he didn't start the trip, but then he was supposed to ask you on phone if it's card.
I do that especially on Mondays and Tuesdays, so he wasn't playing any fast one on you.
Bolt should be blamed here, assuming they convert these app payments the next day or allow driver the option of cashing out maybe we won't be having dramas like this.
Opay credit the driver's account the next morning, why can't the other apps do so too?
Well, was almost midday sha... And he actually came to drop someone off. Anyways, I understand his excuse for refusing card trip... But accepting a trip and canceling it on the basis that it's a card trip and on a bonus is cunning.

Why not ask first and then politely ask the rider to cancel, or better still do the trip as its just a short one.

Read carefully for those that is not understanding
Some divers are just rogues and I love dealing with them.

Here is my little experience....

So I left Lagos to Abuja after much running around with no success in buying a car, especially due to the effect of the festive period on the price of cars and trust Nigerians, people will sell snakes and crocodiles to some careless buyers this period. You need to see the quality of cars people package to sell to their so called 'mugus' as registered 'buy and drive to your village' cars, with huge price tags. I just decided to chill and wait for the heat tongue down, so I can quietly go for what I want without much stress. No be me person go use chop Christmas rice and chicken.

So, I requested for a ride on bolt as I have a 50% discount bonus ride. Driver accepted, asked where I was and I told him, he said he was just close by, just an estate behind where I was and estimated time of arrival was 4mins.

I told you him I will walk to the estate gate, just to save him the stress of trying to drive through the entire estate which is kinda confusing. Sonic walked under that afternoon sun for 10mins and he wasn't there yet. Called him and he said he was on his way. Few mins, he called and said he was there and can't see me and I was confused. However, after much arguments and clarification/verification with the help of the security guys at the gate of the estate he was at, it was confirmed that one Aboki security guy could not understand the difference between a 4 and a 2...lol.

Driver pulled up and I entered...

Me: Good afternoon, sorry for the mix up and the waste of your fuel while running up and down. (He drove past the estate I was and had to drive back again).

Driver: Good afternoon bros, it's just not my lucky day today. So where are we heading to.

Me: Gwarimpa, Works and Housing gate.

Driver: Oh gosh! It's a card trip and also a bonus one for that matter. Bros please I don't want a card trip, cos I will only get the money by next Monday.
(In my mind I was like 'what's this one saying?')

Me: Well, I don't have any money on me and I don't know what to do.
(Before I even knew what was happening, oga driver has started the trip and ended it. Immediately I got a debit alert, but didn't check how much).

Driver: Bros, you need to place another request, a cash trip or let me help you do that from my end. Its N1400.

Me: Bros calm down, why did you have to start the trip and end it. Now you want me to book another or better still for you to book for me. Why didn't you simply cancel the trip as you don't want card or bonus trip and now I have been debited.

Driver: Well, you were debited N400 and the new request I created for you is N1400. So, I will minus the 400 and you will just pay N1000.

Me: No Sir, my fare was supposed to be N700, due to the bonus and thats what I will pay, nothing more, nothing less.

Driver: So what do we do now?

Me: Drive me to where am going to and I transfer the balance of N300 to you, shikina.
(I enjoy dealing with people who thinks they are smart)

Driver: But N1400 is the trip oga. So your balance will be N1000.

Me: It's N1400 at your end and N700 on mine. Am on a bonus and I intend utilizing it today.

Driver: OK bros, here is cash of N400 as a refund. I don't do card or bonus trips on Mondays.

Me: Thank you Sir, I don't have cash on me and want to make use of my bonus. So let me drop.

I got down, he drove few meters away and was going slowly, probably waiting to see if he can catch my new request, I just refused to place another request, but used a bike to the main junction and placed another request.

Now, him head no let am know say I was on a bonus, so anything he gets will always be a double of what I will be charged. So the N400 he got was just N200 at my end. Now I began to wonder, how many persons have this guy used same trick to get some cherries from? Why start the trip when you know you don't want to go for it and also know that the rider would be debited, hence it's a card trip?

Yes, the money is small, but I don't like to be cheated and I am not sorry for anyone who ends up losing while trying to cheat me or others.

For this specific car, it's Nigerian used; so #1 million asking price seems okay. You should be able to negotiate it to #800k - #900k if ... a good mechanic engineer you trust checks it out in and out and certifies the car okay.

How sure are you that its just transmission and linkages? No answer these sweet mouth o, spend money and go with a reliable mechanic who will even access the bodily damage for you and give you true quotes of the status of the car.
Again... Do they have the original papers? And deed of agreement stating the forfeiting of the car to the loan company?
Was the car used as a collateral when the loan was been collected?

Truth is... I am not sure of how much the transmission is, but I think you first of all should determine what you want? Meanwhile is the car a i4 or V6?
I went with kazeem yesterday to access the car, that was when we discovered fluid leakage from the transmission box, then upon test driving kazeem discovered the reverse gear was having difficulties engaging.
However, I plan going there with my sister's kazeem, whom she trusts to confirm and give me an estimate of the cost to get the car back to shape.
It's a 4 cylinder engine, 04/05 XLE.

They also promised to give me a copy of the agreement between the firm and their client. Then I can make a change of ownership agreement with them.

Thanks baba for your response
