Abeg make una free this argument Biko. High Net worth, Middle point or Low Class o everybody for him own pocket.
We have argued our points on this and as a member of the Incorruptible Judges of Nigeria, I hereby declare this argument irrelevant to our this thread. Let all the CEOs and umuboys go and face their facilities.

So What are your take on Toyota Camry and Prius, base of Fuel Economy and pocket friendly with respect to maintenance?

Please the grand fathers in the house, is 2003 Toyota Prius a good deal for Ehailing? I discovered it has a very big advantage over Corolla at about 42/41/41 mpg against 28/36/31 mpg (city/highway/combine).

My concern is the cost of maintenance and availability of parts and reliable kazeem.
How about this comparison... Advice needed

,

I once carried D'ja from mavins record Head office to Banana island, I didn't know she was the one till we entered Banana island gate.

If I had known, what will I do?
She's not even the one that made the request. So the issue of exposing your contact is defeated.
That's what people don't understand... Anyways, na our mentality dey cause am... We place alot of value and regards on the so called high profile individuals, cos las las we believe Oga go smile on boys.

Imagine where a Prime Minister will ride bicycle through 10 blocks to his office or a CEO will ride a bicycle 15-20mins from his to his office.

Nigerians will see Mr. Spell buying corn and they all gather just to see him. Then you go hear "So this guy dey follow us eat roasted corn"

Abeg like I said, let's leave this argument, our value systems are different. We all don't value people the same. I might see someone you regard to as a high profile citizen as a mere individual trying to survive, maybe cos I am related or know him beta, while the one I dey comot cap for be upcoming thousandnaire to you.

is that what you took from what i wrote?

where did i write only foolish ceos use uber?

this is why i said this thread is an insight into thinking processes.

oya, i am ceo of my own company too and i am riding uber

you remind me of one day when a bus conductor was saying - the same singlet i wear is the singlet fashola wears

if you actually think that a company that pays a person in hundreds of millions, has security dedicated to him 24/7, depends n him to direct to fortunes of the company will allow him to risk himself/herself, the company's operations and plans, for a ride in an unsecured platform then continue to wallow in your ignorance of i carried the ceo of a lower tier company. if it makes you feel better, so be it.

uber is of no benefit whatsoever to a high networt individual with driver, spy, police pilot vehicle.
Please let's forget this argument before it will linger like the last one that Spartacus initiated.

The truth is this, riding uber depends on individuals and the state of their minds and needs per the time of request.

A top notch CEO can decide to ride on Uber and still have his security details with him... Maybe 1 or 2 and you won't even know. Some even sneak out just to have that freedom you and I have, without any security personnel body checking every of his movement... Or do you think they too don't do nkoro things?

It's true a very high profile CEO must and is always advised to follow the guidelines of his security details to avoid stories that touch. However, remember Hon. Rotimi Amaechi when he was the Governor of Rivers State used to ride around the city on a motor bike doing inspection on projects. I had a chat with one of the security men assigned to him then. He said he doesn't give any signal that he wants to move, he just mount and speed off, they have to start making radio calls to track him down.

We just give too much value to people in this part of the world, that's why we don't believe these people can decide on few occasions to live a normal life, even if it's for just 30mins. Moreover, no be everybody know everybody, even when you hear their names on a reg... Like me, If Otedola or any of his child or whatever takes a ride with me, I won't even know, cos I don't know him in person or taken note of how he looks.

Guys just need to understand that there is a difference between Work and Leisure. These are the kind of drivers who will go around buying protections, yam, ofe akwu or cross the road to buy corn for olosho that is under 25yrs.

Just because they want to answer good boy and maybe be granted entrance into armoury of man's destruction.

Let's be professional in this line of hustle, so that riders will not take us for fool bikonu.

I once got a request and I didn't ask the rider the destination b4hand. Turns out it's Ajegunle and the only way out for me was Otto Wharf road. The bad roads nearly tore my bumper apart. Since then, I have learnt my lesson.

Sometime last week, I was on my way home around 9pm, I got a request and I asked the rider where she's going, she said that I shouldn't ask her, that I will see it when I start the trip. I told her plainly that it's late and I'm not going anywhere unless I know where I'll be taking her. She started calling me names, that she will report me and do all manner of things.
I told her to chill b4 she gives herself high BP. The Uber app is easy to navigate and the office is at Maryland Mall, you can even go there and lodge a physical complaint. Pharod couldn't care less. I cut the call, canceled the request went offline and went home. Can't allow one person that doesn't matter to come and spoil my day for me right at the end...
Plz am sorry is this the Pharod I used to know? Pharod who was one time lover to Cheerish, close pal to Kentals and his sister Lilly? And a friendly adversary to derock533.

Chai! See likes on this post. I only said my mind.

I took a lady from the USA today, told me I looked tired but I just smiled.( If only she knows what we go through)
Asked if Uber drivers in Nigeria are making money unlike the US that drivers are making FÜCKING MONEY (She stressed it that way).
I just examined myself and pitied me that if I had known the outcome of this driving would be this, I would have invested the same amount I used for buying this car to continue my previous business(but buhari's policies made me to have a rethink).
But seriously, guys who do Uber in US are making alot of money on the platform. I believe it's because the government monitor the rates both what uber charges and that which goes to the driver.
Unlike here where uber milk drivers dry and leave them, and the government care less about anything, provided they get their own cut.

I'm not a driver, may be not yet, but from experience I've got here, offline deals can easily be negotiated if the rider is going to be putting you on waiting time thereby preventing you from other trips. If a rider requests for a to and fro long trip and isn't going to waste your time, u can't force offline on him, though you may introduce offline which he/she might decline at his/her discretion.
But normally, any long trips or a single trip with various destinations that will keep you waiting for the rider and prevent you from other trips is better negotiated offline.
Thank you so much brotherly

If the opportunity presents itself, you bring it up. Don't just say offline anyhow. You just have to be observant. I have negotiated offline for both very short and long trips, depending on how the situations builds itself grin

Example

Gets a request on a Sunday evening, around 3:30pm in Surulere. I accept
Rider: I'm going to Ojodu.
Me:Okay

Arrives at venue, and one madam enters. She was very jovial

Me: Ma, should I wait for you till after the party?
Rider: Oh, very good. I'm grateful. So how much will you charge?
Me: Ma, you know you're like a mother to me. Just bring #12k
Rider: OGAA. For what naa?
Me: Ma, it's not like that. It's just small money to you.... Blah blah blah

After all the talk talk, we agreed on 10

Went there around 4pm. Left around 5pm. She gave me 11k with many cans of Origin

*****************************

Gets a request at Landmark. Calls rider but the line is busy

Drives to Landmark, and madam cancelled. Calls her again and she picks, saying its a mistake

She comes out and sits in my car to request again. She's going to Surulere

Me: Ma, how much is the app saying?
Rider: #1700 to #1900
Me: Give me #1900 and let me take you there
Rider: (Laughs). Why not #1700? Let be at equilibrium. #1800 abeg
Me: Okay

I drive her to Surulere.
Taxify commission? NIL NIL NIL

So offline can be done in many ways. There is no defined path to it. Just look out for the opportunity

Also I negotiate offline for many reasons.
Baba you do well... Thank you very much for the illustrative lecture

Mostly long trips - Maybe a trip from Awoyaya to Ota

Mostly return trips - For example, a trip from Ikeja to Lekki and back to Ikeja

Mostly trips to Useless destinations - Maybe the rider is going to Badagry, or Lafenwa, or Ibeju Lekki.
Thank you, so I will have to tell the rider that we will have to do it as offline... Or how please Sir

Besides, I have wanted to ask the gray haired elders in the trade, please which Navigation App is most accurate for JJCs like me. So that I can navigate without making a rider feel bad, as I know some riders may get weird attitudes if one doesn't know their way around town.

Bro, anything beyond Camry (Big for nothing), Hyundai, Matrix, corolla, Honda civic and city, don't rush into it except you've got someone who uses this ES 330 full time on ehailing and can attest to its efficacy. Not that there are no other cars that can do this job, but these are the cars people most use and can vouch for. Don't gamble with a car you or no one has used before on ehailing platform. Unless you're not planning to do ehailing biz full time.

Benz C230 is another car someone also uses from this thread and attests to its functions. You can check just few pages back

In everything, don't test water with strange cars for ehailing. Use cars people have used and confirm its functions.

Good luck bro
Thank you very much... You guys are really brothers. I appreciate
