Uchek:
Gowon has not started regretting. For him to confess his regret now shows that he has harboured this regret for long. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

You will regret usurping power and destroying the espirit-de-corps and army seniority rule which would have allowed Ogundipe, Adebayo, Ejoor etc to take power after the muder of Ironsi.

You will regret the massacre of Ibos in the North before the outcome of civil war without anybody brought to punished or victims punished.

You will regret the Aburi Accord betrayal which will have given us the framework to address out multi-ethnic problems and establish the foundation of Nigeria economic growth

You will regret your myyopic economic policies of your 9-year rule which encouraged wasteful importation and elephant projects which were appeared to be development projects because of the oil boom.

You will regret that you will pass on to meet your God in frustration and pain from the knowledge that Nigeria is a failed state ( and may never attain its potential) and your future generatio and (your tibe) will be pay for your visionless and mediocrity.

I am a 100% IGBO, but this issue of secession, am so not in support of it. Its high time we got up to build our nation to greatness. Its high time we the youths united against those corrupt officials who are playing with our future. How can we be talking about seceding when the rest of the world is talkin about coalescence? Have we forgotten dat 2heads are better dan one? Y are we so excited about going into war with ourselves? Have u checked d aftermath of wars in other countries? Do we think its as easy as we say it? How could we have lost touch with the reality that this Biafra stuff WON'T AND CAN NEVER WORK? Gosh!! How could i have forgotten, Jesus said it, these are d signs of end time "there shall be wars and rumours of wars". Pls let us always remember, UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL. One Nigeria forever

It's no more news that Obasanjo fears Ojukwu a great deal. Ojukwu is OBJ's role model.

In Sept, 2004 Ojukwu resisted arrest by OBJ and nothing happened. Trust what OBJ would have done if it were to be some non entity.

But Ojukwu refused to be arrested and heaven did not let loose. He even called OBJ, then a sitting president a fool, slowpoke and coward and no shakey

Were Ojukwu to be alive all he needed to do was just to sneeze and OBJ will take cover. Anyway sha,  the cat is dead and the mouse is out to play.

Some extra 600 megawatts of electricity is to enter the national grid this December when overhaul work on a gas turbine at Shiroro hydropower station is done.
The station’s chief executive officer Daudu Abdulaziz disclosed this during a routine tour of the station by the minister of state for power Darius Ishaku.

Abdulaziz said the station would become operational after work is completed on the abandoned unit, allowing Shiroro to meet the December target it set for itself.

Minister of state for power Ishaku told workers at Shiroro to ensure they are part of making the history of the power sector, where reforms are afoot.

Ojukwu didn't turn his face away whilst his people were been butchered in the north rather he sent

them back to the same north knowing fully well, he cannot vouch for their safety. After which, he led them into a badly-

planned, ill-managed and shambolic war that cost more miseries to his people ONLY for him to "turn his face away" and

ran off (like a thief in the night) to a safe haven leaving his people to their fate.

Ojukwu fought for what he believed in and sent many of his people and others to an early grave BUT he wasn't prepared

to die for his beliefs and the millions who have died responding to his clarion call.

I sure would like to know how the cold-hearted mothaph.ocker sleeps at night.

Probably explains why he couldn't get it up for his whorish young wife and have to rely on his blood relative to do the biz

on his behalf.

PoliticsJonathan Tasks Nigerians Over Locally Produced Goods by ak47mann(op): 3:17pm On Nov 30, 2011
President Goodluck Jonathan Tuesday set the tone for patronising locally made goods when he formally presented made in Nigeria cassava flour bread which he said he will eat till he leaves power and charged Nigerians to tame their exotic taste for foreign goods.

He after presenting the bread which he said he has been eating for the past one week, directed the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economic Team, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Minister of National Planning, Shamsudeen Usman, Minister of Trade and Investment, Dr. Olusegun Aganga, Minister of Agriculture Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina and the Chief Economic Adviser to the President, Professor Nwanze Okidigbe to meet and fashion out policies that will grant incentives to users of the cassava flour in their production lines.

Jonathan after the presentation opened it and gave some to the Vice President and ate some before other members of the Council opened theirs and ate. He said preference for foreign goods was damaging the economy through importation which must stop for the economy to grow.

“When the Hon Minister brought some samples to me about a week ago and that is the only bread I have been eating since this past one week. I think it is proper for us in Council to formally present this bread to Nigerian. I have been eating this bread for the past one week and I will continue to eat only this bread until I leave State House.

“We must encourage what we have. Other countries that became great did not wake up one day and become great. If you look at the history of a country like China at a time they closed their door and restructured everything, begin to think again and by the time they opened their doors, the rest is known by all of us. For us as a nation to move forward we must also tame our exotic taste, we must tame our exotic taste. Some of the things we bring from outside is not even as good as what we even have within our country.

“And I believe with this, so many of the people who produce bread will start to use different per cent ages of cassava flour. After this presentation, the Coordinating Minister of the economy will meet with Minister of National Planning, Minister of Trade and Investment, Minister of Agriculture and the Chief Economic Adviser to the President to come up with policies that we will adopt to encourage those who use cassava flour for their manufacturing processes and certain other activities that encourage the use of use cassava flour because we have to give them incentives to encourage them,” he said.

Jonathan further praised another snack which was made out of Cassava and bean which he said would be good for school feeding since it has all the components of balanced diet and charged that more insight should be given to how best to harness local resources to attend to local needs.

Earlier, Adesina had while introducing the product noted that Nigerian was the highest producer of cassava in the world with 34 million tons per annum but regretted that that she adds zero value to product locally.

He said processing the product will save Nigeria which spends N656 billion yearly on flour import, create jobs and put more money in the hands of Nigerian farmers which will in turn create wealth since it is a substitute that will be locally produced.

Is it not a pleasant surprise the regeneration ability of the easterners?

After all said and done; decimation of the working population, demolition of all meaningful structures, total degradation of the environment, economic strangulation, socio-political stifle and 20 pounds to start live with, the current level of development in the east (structures and living standard) surpasses that of many other parts of Nigeria that did not even experience the war.
