B-R-E-A-K-I-N-G News!
APC Anambra Governorship Candidates Rejects Ngige.

**the selection of Ngige as the wishful thinking of Okorocha.
**APC must conduct primaries for in Anambra, and as we will not tolerate any imposition by anyone or group.
**the announcement of Ngige as the consensus candidate of the APC in Anambra is complete falsehood.
**We are going to resist any imposition in the coming election because that is not what the constitution say.

The imposition of Senator Ngige as the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the November 16, 2013 election has meet a brick wall as other aspirants who are not aware of the arrangement to impose Ngige on them has refused to recognise him.

The aspirants were furious on what they construe as 'the dubious' role played by Governor Okorocha, who was meeting the aspirants individually to informing them that others have stepped down and that they should follow suit. They said that APC must conduct primaries for in Anambra, and if they lose they will accept the result and will not tolerate any imposition by anyone or group.

Chief Annie Okonkwo, the South-East interim Deputy Chairman of APC and one of the popular candidates was forced to step down with a promise of a guaranteed senatorial seat.

Hope For Nigeria learnt that APC has branded the governorship election in Anambra as 'highly important and a test case of their acceptability in the South East".

Chief Godwin Ezeemo, one of the aspirants described the selection of Ngige as the wishful thinking of Okorocha.

He said the Imo governor would not be allowed to become an overlord in an election that concerns people of Anambra State.

His words: “Governor Rochas Okorocha is not from Anambra State and he would not be allowed to become an overlord in an exercise that is for the people of Anambra State.

“As far as I am concerned, the announcement of Senator Ngige as the consensus candidate of the APC in Anambra is complete falsehood. It is merely the wishful thinking of one man in the person of Rochas Okorocha,” he said.

Ezeemo added that INEC does not recognise consensus arrangements, insisting that there must be primaries for the aspirants running on the platform of the APC in Anambra State.

"Leaders of the party had all agreed that there must be a level playing field for all the aspirants and maintained that nothing short of primaries would be accepted by his teeming supporters.

“When did Rochas Okorocha become a native of Anambra State and somebody that would now dictate what happens to people of the state. We are going to resist any imposition in the coming election because that is not what the constitution says.”

The hijack of the proposed primaries, according to party sources to Hope For Nigeria is that Ezeemo has already perfected plans to win, as he has the support of the 64-member SEC (22 elected state officers, 21 LG Chairmen and 21 ex-officio members ,representing each of the LGAs) in Anambra State

The National leadership of APC are thrown into confusion as many of them are not even aware of this make-shift arrangement that happened in Abuja and have decided to avoid making public statements.

Chino48: @Ikengawo:

Don't go there. Anambra as a state that has no divisions whether political or economical because almost all the towns in the state has privileged people that are equal to the task both politically and economically. So I don't think that there is any part of the state that is being ignored either politically or otherwise. Even the Onitsha you mentioned is presently witnessing massive turn around, upgrade and beautification same with other parts of the state. No part of the state is neglected because they are not in government at the moment.
Nnewi will be difficult because one,60% of Nnewi land is own by few individuals, chief mike umeh bought the whole agbo ngilinze, agbo ngilinze by size can take 4 local govt no sweat. Not only him, ifeany uba his clan in nnewi dnt have much land this is why his buying other lands in nnewi at any price just for his clans can have big land just like umudim and otolo, and we still have many like them buying lands all over.

Now the problem they are not willing to sell and if they decide to sell few plots the price will chase you away. The truth is that they dnt need the money cool

Till today, the Oba of Lagos is the head of all the Kings in Lagos State and his status is
different from other Oba's most of whom
were later given back their crowns and staff
of office only within the last 40 years. Those
who got their crowns back were the original
land owners (Olofin's children). Modern-day
Lagosians have so intermingled that no
single tribe or people can claim it even
though the predominant language is Yoruba.

people should get some fact right before they comment.Let's get serious here. We must differentiate Lagos Metropolitan area from Lagos State itself, which was created by Yakubu Gowon in 1967. Lagos was Federal Capital from 1914-1993 fact. For about 400 years before 1861 when it was a British colony, the area around the lagoon was inhabited by various warring tribes and seekers of fish and aquatic things from neighboring tribes, until then powerful Benin Empire annexed it for use as a naval base/war camp (EKO in edo language). In fact in 1472, the Portuguese came to the Court of Oba Esigie (whose son Oba Orhogbua established EKO) to sign a bilateral agreement with the Benin Kingdom for its use as a seaport for trade in spices. ivory and later, slaves. The Oba of Lagos has his origin in Benin. The Ga people of Ghana, the Ewe people of Togo and some others around the coast of Dahomey, now Benin Republic, are all signatures of Benin Dominance around the Lagoon area. Even recently, in free and fair elections, Igbos won elections as LGA Chairmen in Ojo/Alaba axis and sometimes, even Surulere LGA. ... LAGOS or EKO (an edo word) is not in any yoruba folklore just like you have Ife, Gbongan, Ilorin, Ibadan, Ede, Oshogbo etc. Till date, 90% of the infrastructure you find in Lagos were built by the combined efforts of the former Benin Empire, the Portuguese, British colonialists and other ''immigrants to Lagos which include, The Ransome Kuti family from the Egba tribe, the Ojukwu family from the Igbo ethnic group, creole returnees from Sierra Leone, Brazil and other West Indies nations...and the FG. It is still read in the news as Nigeria's commercial capital. There's no need to get shirty about Lagos... even Jagaban is from Osun State....[/b] cool
