Though, the eggs are now coming out bigger than before.

Use Toltravet

tnx all for your contributions. Though my birds are yet to recover, but given the advice and encouragement from forum members; Im very hopeful and optimistic that it SHALL BE WELL. smiley

@jamp I think there is no doubt Milling ur feed is the way to go. the other alternative would be to switch to any other feed that the dealer is willing to give you a good discount. I understand animal care does as low asN2150/bag. But the birds perfomance under the use of the feed is what I don't know.

@omotiti more ENGINE OIL to ur elbow. Success to all.

I just discussed this issue with my vet doc, and he said plenty of vitamins should be given to them. He said the excess dewormer in their system has weaken them alot , so they need to be strenghten , He said the ideal of giving them iodine like my boss(eggcelent) has sugessted is not a bad ideal, but you have to give it to them on ratio 1:3 for just one day,and the vitamins should come in the next day. [b]Please all other farmers in the house should contribute to this ....this guy needs help..
tnx kelvin96. Ive started with the vitamins. I have also invited anoda vet dr to come and observe the birds for any other clinical issue. I will also discus the ' iodine theraphy' as suggested by Eggcellent with him.

Meanwhile pls we need more opinion from other experience farmers in the forum pls.

AkayTopsy. Hmmm. Now I understand. As to the remedy, I wouldn't know. However, I've read of some farmers giving iodine (poldine) to birds suffering from overdose of vaccine & antibiotics to flush off the excess from their system. I wouldn't know if same will work in this case due to differences in mode of administration/transmission. You may wish to see what others on this forum will say.
tnx bro I appreciate ur concern.

pls let us have input from others. I'm loosing income oooo.

Eggcelent:
AkayTopsy. That's serious. Which medication did you use for the deworming? I dewormed/deloused my birds about 2 weeks ago & repeated same over the weekend. Production has been on the increase. Are you sure nothing else is amiss?
Well I used WormCare from Sam...Ltd. To the best of my knowledge everything was in order safe for the posibility of an overdose of the product. The direction on the container reads 100ml to 50birds so I dropped 1ltr into 150ltr of drinking water in the morning and same in the evening (the 952birds consume about 270-300ltr of water per day).

The Vet Dr told me that WarmCare has 'Immunostimulant' that one can continue to drop it into the bird's drinking water to boost their immune. so I got an extra bottle of 1ltr, but unfortunately before I got to the pen d next morning after day1treatment, my staff has already dropped the 1tr into day2 150ltr of drinking water.

So practically that is the only way I think We must have gone wrong. The birds are looking ok, but their feed consumption reduced slightly. they no longer empty the feed pan.

Any remedy pls?

Farmers in d house BEWARE!

My birds are currently going through a hard time now. After the routine DEWORMING exercise done 5days ago production has been on the decline... about 40% drop in production now.

Pls has anyone experienced this before and what is the way out?
AgricultureRe: Starting A Poultry Farm (a Blog) by AkayTopsy: 12:49pm On May 28, 2015
@davidzfarm though the link was not through but I was able to check google with the keyword.

What I was really asking is your personal experience, I believe some of your birds are SHIKA BROWN.

what is the feed consumption like?
Is the DOC same price as other BROWN LAYERS?
What is their maturity age? (from your experience)
AgricultureRe: Starting A Poultry Farm (a Blog) by AkayTopsy: 8:52pm On May 27, 2015
@davidzfarm tnx 4 ur response as well. But pls tell me more about the SHIKA BROWN, how are they different from the ISA BROWN?

@omotititi and eggxel you're welcome.

Thanx grownaira. if mixing E.S.T Mix with the feed is as effective as mixing it in their water then it isreally COST EFFECTIVE using the feed bro.

@Kelvin96 what's your experience with Koudjis Concentrate pls.
AgricultureRe: Starting A Poultry Farm (a Blog) by AkayTopsy: 12:56pm On May 20, 2015
@eggxel Theft/sharp practice @feedmill is surely inevitable if you are absent during the milling. but I always make sure either me or 1 of my staff is present to tie the bags as they load the feed. But still at that my bro this guys can still leave few Kgs spilled around from several customers, gather them at intervals and sell it to walk-in petty/backyard farmers.

@omotiti I've always been a broiler farmer all along but I was introduced to Koudjia Broiler Concentrate (KBC) and the result was and it's still great. So this set of Layers is a pilot project to enable me learn about egg production. I started them with KBC then switched to KLC from 6wks. @34wks the egg production level is currently 80-3%. This is the highest pdtn level so far, hopefully they are yet to hit the pick pdtn level.

I understand they have a SalesRep in Asaba serving the benin axis.

@davidsfarm. I also agree with grownaira on the issue of sulphur and egg production. Using E.S.T Mix, there was no significant drop in our production level.

AkayTopsy: I'm having similar issue with my birds (Respiratory) No Lab in abuja. I have tried Conflox, tylodox, Anitilan, Eucament Plus,Ciprovet. Pls what drug solved the problem for you.
I just went through my records now; the Respiratory problem lasted for like 10days we started treatment with Gentadox then Tyldox for 3days before switching to Floricol for the last 5days. In addition to all d antibiotics was IntrovitA + Stresroak.

We also had d same problem recently with both the Layers and broilers. And they were both placed on E.S.T Mix (based on Grownaira's old post. the layers seem to have overcome the respiratory problem but the broilers are still sneezing. My plan is to allow them take vitamins for 2-3days then try another antibiotic drug.

Eggcelent:
sukkotfarm. The birds have been laying for 25 weeks now. The present production is about 86.5%. The egg size is large when the birds are in good health. They are brown.
@Eggcelent good to know ur birds are from Zartech. Mine are from Zartech as well. Your current production level of 86.5% has rekindled my hope. My birds are from Zartech as well. Started laying @ 19wks5days and they've been laying for the past 13wks. current production level has been alternating between 75-79.5% for some weeks. what would you say about this compare to your birds performance when the were that age? what can I do to improve their performance if you think they are lagging behind?

Lol! I guess his broilers get to 4kg in 3weeks. And his pullets would lay @ 5weeks not 5months.
