Definitely we cannot underestimate the power of advertisement, and how the sponsorship of BBN has positively brought Payporte to the notice of a wider population.

Below is Alexa rating of Payporte site as at Jan 22 when the show started and today Apr 15. Over 1000 steps up.

Urgent Advice Needed:

My young Pullets are due for MAREK'S Vaccination on Friday (Day22) based on my vaccination schedule,

1. But I would like to know 'how late is too late' to administer Marek's Vaccine in pullets.?

2.Since it is believed that hatcheries have already done the vaccination at day old, must it be repeated in farm?

Thanx as u respond.

Haha. No regular broiler farmer will keep birds for four months. A four month old broiler that is well fed will weigh nothing less than 6Kg (dressed weight).

May be I should try that adventure soon... smiley

@Eggxel you are welcome and @davidzfarm tnx 4 ur response to his request, hw are your birds doing? I believe you have fully disposed the 'naughty ones'.

@grownaira are you serious about that broiler feeding for 4months? Who in this biz keeps broilers for 4MONTHS? Pls what is the expected Weight at that age? Just Curious though....

@icemania in addition to reading the entire thread. I will also suggest u do a mock investment in your backyard and raise few birds to maturity. that way you can get small experience. All the best.

@AkayTopsy, did u buy directly from the company or through a 'middle man'? Im based in the FCT, if i have to order from the southwest where most hatcheries are, whats d payment modality? Can i pay at delivery? I would appreciate it if u can share your supplier's contact details. Thanks.

I buy directly from the hatchery. zartech no is 08055990399. Call the guy and ask him to send u their account no after getting the price and available date it is as simple as date.

Mind you tpt of the birds is on you but you can plead with him to help you give the birds to the regular drivers that bring birds to fct. communicate with the driver whom you will pay the tpt cost on delivery as to where you will pick ur birds. SHIKENA

had to let my girls go yesterday. A very painful decision indeed. I pray that God will rebuke the devourer from all the farms here.

We should start instituting legal action against these Hatcheries for shunning out diseased and low quality birds.

Well done bro, having the courage to make a hard decision is a biz quality. We all need to know when to 'hold on' and when to 'let go'

All the best as you reinvest your proceeds from sales.

So which feed do you use do you compound it yourself? what formula do you use?

I use the Koudjis Concentrate to mill my feed. Below is the the formular as given by the company.

I copied this from the original post by Kelvin96 on page130

kelvin96:As regard how to mix the KBC 10, Starter 0 - 17 days; kbc10 125 kg, maize 600 kg, soya meal 275 kg.Grower 17 - 37 days; kbc10 100 kg, maize 650 kg, soya meal 250 kgFinisher after 37 days; kbc10 80 kg, maize 695 kg, soya meal 225 kg.There is another one called kbc30 Starter Maize: 650kbc30: 350Finisher: 650Kbc30: 300Wheat Offal: 50And for Galdus , it is a prestarter feed directly from holland, made by koudijs. It helps the birds builds their digestive trait. You can read more about it herehttp://www.koudijs.deheus.com/feed-solutions/poultry/day-old-chicks@grownaira, the 2kg i talked about is live weight.

Has anyone tried to decode the formula that top feed uses for their broiler feed. They are dang good. I want to set up my own mill so that I can mill for my farm, it has to be a top feed quality or better, if not I will counting buy from top feed. Please help.

If you are really planning to mill, I would suggest you try Koudjis Concentrates. My broilers batches have been on Koudjis for almost a year and Yes! Zartech birds. And the result has been wonderful. That is not to say we never had challenges, but that would only be due to other factors not the feed.

Most of my broiler batches are out 6wks (+/- 3days), meaning sometimes I dispose them even b4 6weeks.

If you check the earlier posts sometimes this year we spoke about it and someone even posted the combination formular.

We weigh them individually, and we weigh a whole bunch, and you can see from the ones you weighed that most of the other birds looks like the same size.
of course, some are about 900g some 800g and some 1.1kg etc.

In the past, at 4 weeks, most of them weighs 700g, some 600g

Ok tnx bro.

bros the birds are coming this month end. we are preparing for their arrival. how are ur birds doing? ur friend didn't show up again.

my first batch will be 2yrs by August and they are doing 60%(to God be the glory). they dropped from 70-60 after we changed to animal care. they are the ones feeding our 2nd & 3rd batches. we planned to push them to December before selling them.
wow! bro it seems like yday when you brought those birds, but to the glory of God here we are... This biz is truely a game of time all we need is to invest wisely and by God's Grace as the sun rise and set the fruit of our labour shall be reaped. Wish U better success on the next batches. hopefuly my new batch from Zartech will be coming In 2wks time as well.
