Hello dearest people.

I saw this on VFS website.

"All applicants for all categories of Long term visas must provide SOUTH AFRICAN POLICE CLEARANCE report, and any countries they have lived in for a period more since 18 years of age OR must fill the Waiver/Incomplete in absence of the same at the time of submission."

Does this mean that my wife has to request for an SA police clearance asides the one we have gotten in Nigeria?

Typop
If she has stayed in SA for more than 6 months it will be required if not just go with what you have.

After one rejection, 7 months of waiting, so many pain and stress, I finally got my study permit renewed today at Lagos.

No need to dwell on the past but I'm very sure that the government of South Africa is trying to tell us not to come to their country, subtly though. Of course they have a right to and not to. It's their country. We have messed up ours, even amongst us we treat each other like thrash.

Our politicians steal us blind and see us as subhuman. But we always find a way to still queue behind in the name of tribalism, religion and whatever rubbish we have here.
So I blame not South Africa as we treat each other worse.
Just need to go and finish my study and find my way.
Pardon my story... Even though I'm happy with my visa I'm very pained at the whole situation.
It is well.
When did you apply?

you wanna add some points??
Yes. Apparently the new rule is one needs to add the quotation from the school which isn't in the required documents on their website.

if you are in Nigeria.

Lagos or Abj

You will need to go the embassy to do a finger print. They will then give you the finger print for you to post probably through DHL to the central police station in Pretoria.

Or better still, send it to a friend in Pretoria who can hand deliver the finger print to the central police station.

Wait for four Weeks and hopefully you will get the certificate.

Good luck
Thanks

I'm at VFS office in Portharcourt right now, after paying for visa processing at Sterling Bank as directed by them, they are asking me to wait or come back later that the Server is down. They said Lagos is affected too.

Please who else is having similar experience today.
I tried tracking mine this morning too and it didn't show anything.

I would have believed this if not for a simple Google search and going through every single page of this thread and reading stories from years ago.

News stories have been documenting this 'maltreatment' of Nigerian applicants by the South African Consulate and VFS.

The way the SA High Consulate in Nigeria delays visa applications is crazy. Imagine a useless country like South Africa holding onto people's passports for weeks, some people book flights, hotel accommodation, make solid travel plans, prepare to attend conferences and then they treat our applications with disdain like time is not of the essence. Better countries at least respect timing. What a waste of time and money. Never again.
Welcome to General South Africa Visa Enquiries forum. Some of us have applied in Lagos since last and still haven't gotten any response from VFS and The High Commission. We no fit kill ourselves my G na grace we dy pray for. PS: The country is not useless na why many of us dy run go there be that. smiley

Try to Call and email the officer herself, not the department.
Include in your email, your date of application, vfs location, reference number, name and passport number. My understanding is that they forward this information to the embassy based on how compelling your email is. She also requests that we wait at least 6/7weeks before sending a request for support email.

I sent mine on the 10, followed up with a call on 11 and she gave a confirmation that she has forwarded to them on the same day. Permit was approved on 21. About 11 days after. All the best guys
Abeg give us the email
