Needs to replace old low energy mama Nwabuoku and bring in Damilola Koku.
They are being overrun in the midfield and Abiodun is doing extra coverage and picking up the slack.
The Ikekua girl upfront has been poor - same also for Gift Monday who has been completely missing in action.
Why Vivian Ikechukwu is on the bench is beyond me?
This Okon is like any other Naija coach - lacking in tactical and strategic intellect.
Pidginwhisper:
They’re being out muscled and dominated in every department. Even their shots are weak like the ball is heavy.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 6:49pm On Nov 06, 2021
Best player so far for RA...Debbie Abiodun by a country mile!

Okon has messed up this team. Not impressed at all with his footballing intelligence.
Far too many personnel changes that has pretty destroyed the flow of the team.

Gift Monday, Nwabuoku and Ikekhua have been poor.
Even Ezenagu hasn't done a damn thing.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 6:33pm On Nov 06, 2021
0-1 ASFAR.
Demehin error there. Kept them offside and got turned around by the Morrocan captain.

This team has had too many changes which has disrupted the flow.
Not as good as the team that played in the WAFU B CL qualifiers.
This is what happens when you 'overhaul' a team, as Okon and Morufu (or whatever his name is) have advocated for the Falcons.

Debbie Abiodun (#9)
Very good defensive midfielder.

Is this the useless old mama called Nwabuoku that Okon chose over Damilola Koku?
Not only has she been strolling around the field, she also just gave up a free kick.
Like I stated earlier, she is a penalty waiting to happen.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS:
Was it not the same coach that brought all the players you listed to the team in the first place? So how is he not committed to his work?
Was it not a section of you Nigerian fans that said Alozie messed up in the ABC Invitational that forced the coach to resort to someone else playing at right back? Seems yall missed Alozie, huh?
Is the coach responsible for the administrative work in switching the allegiance of players (in the cases of Zogg, Plumptre and Onumonu)?
Does the coach control the academic calendar of WVU that would allow Nicole Payne to skip school for a FIFA match?

Every time new players are integrated, it takes time to blood them. We saw that with Rasheedat, Payne and even Nnadozie. We need to exercise patience and let the process take its course. The right players have been identified to make the team better - we just need to blood and integrate them into the SE.

That's true cause I think lots of falcons fans including would love to see the foreign players given more chance..

Lost 4 matches:
1. Jamaica (0-1)
2. US (0-2)
3. South Africa (2-4)
4. Ghana (0-1)

GF = 2
GA = 8
Divepen1:
This has always been my point of view on Waldrum. He just spent a year as our coach (appointed October 5).

Let's give him the chance. Since he came, we've won 5 matches, drawn Portugal, lost 3- USA, Jamaica (0-1), and Ghana (2nd leg loss).

Let him grow with the team. We can't keep throwing out all the woods in the name of getting better results. We will be left with nothing. Each coach will have to start getting acquainted with team, restructuring and understanding them. Within a year, we send them off. And the process begins afresh.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS:
Evelyn Nwabuoku is back at almost 40yrs old? That's a disaster and penalty waiting to happen (remember France 2019).

Don't know why Okon will bring back this person, considering she is WAY over the hill.
Same unexplainable reason he stuck with goalkeeper Ibubeleye Whyte during the WAFU CL championship, until it cost Rivers Angels the title due to her extremely poor performance.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 11:57pm On Oct 25, 2021
It would be nice if Omagbemi could be brought back into the coaching crew. She would bring experience and a winning mentality back to the team. Pinnick needs to reconcile with her - she did no wrong and is unduly being punished for standing up for her team.

How Ann Chiejine, who was 3rd coach under Omagbemi, became the #2 is ridiculous. Watched an interview she gave after the 1st Ghana game recently and it was so disjointed, couldn't make head or tail of what she was saying. The other nobodies in the coaching staff also need to go. They offer no value, technically or otherwise, to the development of the team.

Regarding Randy Waldrum, it may be difficult to get rid of him, since Pinnick used his influence with Sunny Gulati to get him and it will be foolish to get discard him so soon. He will need to demonstrate he failed in his objectives (not making it to the Semi's of the AWFCON) for him to be fired, or if the team plays crap in the process.

The NFF seem to be listening to thoroughly disappointed fans by planning on making several changes to the coaching staff and team personnel, shortly.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 7:42pm On Oct 24, 2021
You need to let that media officer know that she was grossly irresponsible in saying what she did about the Ghanaians only having one good player and Nigeria will beat them again. That was extremely arrogant and classless on her part.
She also needs to be told to relay to the coaching crew that fans are not going to stand for the absolute crap performance we has seen over the past 4 games, losing to South Africa scandalously at home and now losing to a poor Ghanaian team.
The drumbeats are getting louder for the whole lot of them to be fired!
Schemerkhiz:
This Coaching Crew needs to go....

I was surprised to see Mercy Akide Udoh comments on Facebook during game.. she clearly stated was needed to be done, I was like I wish she was the one heading the team..

Ghana U20 Assistant just sent me a message that this isn't the Superfalcons she used to know, That Ghana were superior but they couldn't take the chance and luck wasn't on their side..
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 7:35pm On Oct 24, 2021
Omagbemi's team was ruthless and they played beautiful football.
They got rid of her because she asked for the authorities to pay what was due them, yet she got axed for it and this useless, unintelligent clown was brought in. God knows how much the guy is being paid?
We need Omagbemi back!!! This guy ain't taking us no where!!! At this rate, Cote D'Ivoire will wallop this team.
First it was South Africa, then Ghana, then it will be Cote D'Ivoire.
Schemerkhiz:
We can't compare, from 2009 till date Florence Omagbemi team seems to be the best seconded by Ngozi Uche Eucharia, then Edwin Okon to follow..

Khadiri Ikhana, Christopher Danjuma, Thomas Dennerby and Randy Waldrum doesn't come close..

If NFF had respected Coach Florence Omagbemi and giving her the needed support the Superfalcons would have grown to the World class taste we have been waiting for..

See Coach Desire Elli's still getting better and better with the South African side..
She and Omagbemi were given their various job almost the same time.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 7:29pm On Oct 24, 2021
So pissed.
Oshoala speaking grammar up and down, giving all sorts of dumb and silly excuses for her mediocre performance and playing like a headless chicken. Barcelona my arse!
That ragtag Ghanaian coach was right about the Nigerian players lack of footballing intelligence.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 7:21pm On Oct 24, 2021
Omagbemi's team was far more enterprising and played fast, good football.
I have seen high school teams play better football than these guys.
What nonsense.
Klammer01:
I nono say rohr better pass randy. Omogbemi is better than randy, I don't know why NFF likes signing coach that don't have tactics. It better we sack this man now before it is too late.

SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 7:09pm On Oct 24, 2021
So, when did a media officer become an authority on team strength and analysis?
This shows she knows absolutely nothing about football.
Nigeria was lucky not to have lost this game. Very poor team performance and I am beginning to lose patience with Randy and his poor tactics.

The Ghanaian coach, not only insulted Nigeria by claiming our players were not intelligent, also proved it with her team beating the Falcons. This team can't win jack at the WAFCON and I don't see them beating Cote D'Ivoire in the next knockout match. This team is poor!!!
Schemerkhiz:
ONLY ONE player in Black Queens is a threat to Nigeria, we’ll beat them!”-Super Falcons Media Officer

The Super Falcons of Nigeria touched down in Ghana on Saturday ahead of their AWCON qualifiers return league against the Black Queens at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Super Falcons won the first league encounter in Nigeria on Wednesday by 2-0 in the ongoing African Women’s Cup of Nations qualifiers.

According to the Media Communication Officer of the Nigerian female national team Mrs. Oluchi Tobe-Chukwu, they hope to sustain their lead in Accra to book a place in the upcoming AWCON tournament in Morocco.

In an interview with Mrs. Oluchi Tobe-Chukwu on ghanasportspage.com, she stated ”For every player or every team you just need to be optimistic. Both teams want to win but the team that wins is the one with more hunger. We are coming with two goals lead and we hope to sustain that and not to try to concede but very confident that we will bypass this thing.

“We came with best legs, we have very experienced defense and this is the team totally different from the one that was paraded during the Aisha Buhari Cup. We are optimistic that we will be on top.” She said.

Of course, we are not here to joke, we are here for business, we are nine(9) times African Champions and we want to increase the number of times we have won the African Championship, we want to lead every African Country to maintain our record” She added.

Not really, the only player that seems to be a threat to our team is the one who was wearing the number five(5) jersey during the first leg clash in Nigeria [Grace Asantewaa], a fine deliberate player, she has a relationship with the ball, she knows what want to do with the ball. she told Ghanasportspage.com

The Super Falcons played their first international game against Ghana on 16 February 1991 with a 5-1 victory over the Black Queens.

Nigeria won the previous AWCON tournament after beating Bayana Bayana of South Africa in the finals. The competition was held in Ghana.

The second leg is scheduled for Sunday October 24 in Accra.

Both were tried and tested out in the US Summer series.
Roosa did struggle with the pace of International ball and I am not sure she measured up - Randy Waldrum has not reached out to her since her 30 min cameo against Jamaica.
Zogg played well in the series and I believe she was excused for the match against Ghana because of her new club (ASJ Soyaux-Charente, FRA) - ditto that with Esther Okoronkwo of ASSE (St. Ettiene, FRA).
Once all are cleared to play and if we do make it to the AWFCON, I believe they will be a part of the squad and thus, increase the competition within the squad.
lovewins:
He had other options though. Roosa Ariyo and Oyinyechi Zogg play professional football. I remember I checked out Roosa particularly and in one season in the US college league she had 70+ goals. Seen a few of her highlights too and she's clinical in front. Alozie is also very swift in front.

We have a very deadly attack on a good day (don't misunderstand me) both the present crop of players are too relaxed and wasteful up front. The last few games prove that.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 5:32pm On Oct 21, 2021
The two players might be Plumptre and Onumonu, both of whom have played competitively in U23 FIFA sanctioned matches for England and the US respectively. That was why they both could not honor the ABC Invitational, as their FIFA switch was still in process.

TravelRe: Plane Crashes In Waller County, Texas. All 21 Passengers Safe (Video) by AkinDS:
From the aerial photo, it looks like it was a runway excursion, as the plane never took off.
Tire marks on the runway suggest the pilots tried aborting the takeoff roll, but couldn't stop the plane and it went across Morton Ranch road (that's the road I sometimes take to that airport) and stopped on a farmland. Thank God no one was on that road at the time the plane crashed through the airport fencing... Looks like the plane never attained rotational speed during the takeoff roll, which led to the decision to abort by the pilots. Had the plane rotated and became airborne before crashing, I doubt if anyone aboard would have survived, as they were fully loaded with fuel for a trip to Boston.

Men, nah wah O!

This airport is near my house and it is where I take my flight lessons from (Houston Executive Airport - KTME).
This particular plane is stationed at TME and has been under repairs for quite a while - it’s a blue and white MD80, fitted with executive seats.
Last time I went to the airport earlier this year, the plane was there and I walked by it. Can’t believe it’s no more but thank God, everyone got out okay.

Looks like it took off on 36 heading North. Great job by the pilots being able to put it down in the farmland north of TME. Had they taken off on 18, it would have been a disaster, as there are many industries and homes south of TME.

Unbelievable!
God Dey!

Because senior woman (Oparamissit) will be imposed on the team, Ajibade will likely play in the midfield, with Oshoala on the flanks.
The most effective midfield combination will have to be:

Ajibade - Regina Otu - Toni Payne

What the heck are they doing on the list, for goodness sake? We love to celebrate uselessness in our country, sha.
Maybe a loss to Ghana would help them realize that while African teams are being progressive and moving forward, Nigeria has insisted on being retrogressive.
I hope Toni Payne excuses herself from this impending fiasco.
