A lot of people are seeing marriage has been overrated and some as seeing it as scams. Although people have different experiences, the truth is that foundation and origin of marriage need to be well understood before it can be enjoyed maximally.
The most authentic origin of marriage is God as seeing in the Bible. The following points are to be well noted from the pages of the scripture Gen. 1:26-28.
1.God saw the need - there must be a space or gap, right desire to be filled.
2.God brought Eve - remember God created man - male and female. Allow God to influence your choices in life including life-partner decision making.
3. God blessed them - relying on our skills, wisdom, strength and ability is not enough. We need God's grace and blessings.
In summary God factor in successful marriage cannot be ignored. Threefold cord is not easily broken. As husband or wife you must have allegiance to your selves and to God individually and collectively as a couple.
Some people tends to be lose their composure when the partner sinned or fall into one error or the other. Forgetting that the partner has not only sin against them but against God. If God does not kill people immediately they sin, why do they take laws into the hands to hurt the falling partner thereby committing other crimes. Always know that God punish law offenders in His own way that will be smarter and better than your way.
Love fades between people whether in marriage or out of marriage due to a lot of factors. It takes adherence to God's principles and values to make marriage work. If you life is threatening physically or emotionally in relationship or marriage you can separate from the partner but don't separate from God. In my nearly four decades in life, I have heard many killings, beheading and so on of people in the name of blasphemy.This is now even happening in schools where they are supposed to be educated and enlightened.
This is common among the Nigeria northern Muslims - what exactly is motivating, driving them!
Even if the guilty are wrong, is there no forgiveness, love, tolerance in their own beliefs?
Is their a caveat in their religious writings that allows it, or political inequality,ignorance, or just wickedness,or is it because the perpetrators are covered by their extremist people in governance?

The one picture that has trended of late features him in a shirt sporting a familiar brand Fendi. But another brand had been stalking him like a forest cat, slinking, longsuffering and calculating. It was a brand as counterforce: FBI. Nabbed in Dubai but caught in the United States, the sojourn of a colorful conman comes to an end. Behind bars, he will wear neither Gucci nor LV, but an orange top that will, at best, say INMATE.
Now he is no more Hushpuppi. He is now Abbas. He buried his real name in a casket of lies and deceit. He was reborn a glamour icon, one-named, abandoned home, and became a global Smart Alec. He was a man of means with no means of livelihood. He conquered cyberspace, dispossessed the gullible, stashed his global bank account, strutted the world, amassed dream cars, snored in palaces, dressed like a fop, preened like a peacock, seduced the young and befuddled the old.

He became a role model to a lazy generation that lapped luxury without labour. When he was caught, the FBI buried Hushpuppi and rebirthed Abbas. But where is the real Abbas though? Can he recognise Ramon again? He cannot. Like Sophocles’ Antigone, he “neither dwells among men nor ghosts.” He is in a dazed world, a wraith. He died twice; he is born again a jailbird, his third life. He was reckless. Now he is a wreck.

But Abbas is a tale for the moment, if in reverse. He was caught trying to denude a group of people in millions of dollars in palliatives in a time of pandemic. Abbas is a picture of avarice at a time of sacrifice. He was flaunting his shoes, cars, mansion, parties at a time when many hid behind homes, suffered in hospitals, coughed in misery, mourned or were mourned. He represented a heartless species when we were supposed to be our neighbours’ keepers, when many were suddenly whisked out of work.
When his fellow country folks lost their jobs, and men of means contributed their millions and billions to the poor, Abbas was a show-off. The thing with Abbas was no lockdown could stop his party. His extravagance was online. The world was his audience. He flourished and frolicked in real time and space, but his fans joined him virtually. His was a Viewer’s paradise. The young gawped and gawked, followed him, and commented. When they cursed, they did it out of smouldering admiration. He had come to represent a generation of Nigerians who did not trust their parents or their bosses or their leaders. They followed their greed. They followed Hushpuppi. He was a priest of a new goddess: money.


Abbas for them was a sort of escape. He had become the man who gamed the system and scored. All the stadia in the world applauded. They are like the character of the English novel Billy Liar, a young man who lived in his imagination where he had attained power, wealth and glory, although he had nothing other than living from paycheck to paycheck. Abbas embodied that escape for them. They lived in Hushpuppi. They wore his Fendi, lived in his palace, flew in his jet, caroused his women, or were his women, they sat in the driver’s seat of his Ferrari and Lamborghini and Rolls-Royce.

Here fellow Nigerians had no chance to host Owambes. Weddings and birthdays and funerals have been pruned to parlors and backyards. It is a time for humility, and it was only proper that the man who countered it be caught and put away.

These days no one has anywhere to go with Gucci shoes. No first class tickets to buy to London and take pictures for online vanity. No one has a chance to pile pockets with dollars and pounds to spray a celebrant. Those with big cars cannot drive them to anywhere for displays. No extravagances for the Mephistophelean or the harmless show man. Things are upside down. Those who see churches and mosques as avenues for amassing wealth are crowing that they want people together but they are tempting the Lord. It is possible that Abbas had some of these men of God praying for him, and he may be taking from this stolen money to feather the house of God. It is an irony we have people like this thriving when we hear men of God preaching. The point though is that this is an age where the Word of the Lord is trading places with the wealth of the Word. Quite a few churches give precedence to material splendor. It is a different kind of hypocrisy from a war-time play Mother Courage where Brecht says, “Whenever there’s a load of special virtues around, it means something stinks.”

Abbas epitomises the Yahoo Boys, and his fall is their fall. It is a comeuppance for a tribe of desperadoes who have demonised technological genius. The new frontier of progress is also their front for fraud.

It is not for nothing that he has been associated with some of our big-name politicians, even if they had nothing in common. He has had photo-ops with a few of them. If he were not Hushpuppi but merely Ramon Abbas, we might not have seen such pictures.

But our politicians have one quality in common with him: impunity. Where leaders promise and turn back on their word, it is as bad a lie as a Hushpuppi popping up on a person’s email and asking for one piece of information and turning the email into an opportunity to stalk and destroy. They are the monitoring spirits of the internet. They get the person’s account and they empty it.

We also see our politicians take away our money when others have nothing. Fraud is now familiar terrain of politicians. To be a politician is to seek avenue for self-service, not service to all. But the arrest of Abbas is hope, but not enough. It shows even the new frontier can be stalked and the crime encircled and ended. Our people are not doing well enough to catch those who are well-off by wrong means. A few have been caught. We want more.

Abbas is caught today, and no one is hailing him. His audience is now jeering. He is like Jay Gatsby in Scot Fitzgerald’s novel. He acquires his fable of wealth to get back a woman, and buys a big mansion just like Hushpuppi. Every neighbour comes to his frequent parties but not the woman he craves. He eventually dies alone and poor. Everybody comes to his parties but no one goes to his funeral. Abbas is alone now. So is Hushpuppi. Abbas looks on as no one comes to Hushpuppi’s funeral. Hushpuppi’s frozen eyes look without seeing as Abbas goes behind bars.

True Leadership should be Sacrificial
God warned the people of Israel when they were clamouring for a king like other nations. He told them how they I'll amass weath to themselves of their resources but they did not listen.lin most areas political leadership is an opportunity to acquire overnight and sudden wealth from the resources that were to be of common good. A good example of a leader with exemplary sacrificial attribute is Lord Jesus, the head of the Church.
He left a great glory in heaven to take the form of a servant on earth. Getting to the earth, he did not sit down in a place to be served and commanding. He rather was moving from on place to the other teaching and preaching free of charge. Healing and raising the dead without charging penny. Feeding the poor and delivering those in satanic bondages despite the opposition and unacceptance by some elites of his days. Ultimately during his mission on earth He surrender his to the humiliation and eventual death on the cross.
One of the most striking actions of Jesus is that He is using his right hand position with God to be interceding for men despite all he has already done .
This should be great example to all who hold a leadership position political - elected/appointed , public or private establishment, labour unions , societies, groups or organizations. The question to individuals in leadership position what am I sacrificing as a leader to make things progress or move forward, am I selfish or sacrificial with my decisions.

BIBLICAL PRINCIPLE FOR MANAGING MARITAL CRISIS AND AVOIDING IT

It is unimaginable that King Ahaserus, a very powerful king who sat over one hundred provinces in those days could simply ask his wife to show up and she refused. But he did not take such action he rather wait and allow investigation in to the matter by council of elders and wise men of his time. It is very important to seek wise counsels or follow proper judicial procedure even if you feel you are right especially in marital issues or challenges.
After this incidence in the bible story, the King in question did not hurriedly pick wife(or wives). He allowed a free and fair beauty contest to be held in order to select the best not just in beauty but also in good character. This highly disciplined king has to wait for at least one year of purification of these ladies in order to choose for himself a replacement for the deposed queen(Est.2:12). It is worth noting here that good courtship period must be allow to understand your partners properly before marriage. It should be a time of abstinence from sex in order to build true and respect for each other , differences in opinions on critical issues will also be sorted out during this period. Also due process in marriage must not necessarily include elaborate weddings but formal divine approval(full personal conviction), parental approvals and legal seal on the union is very important.
Doing it right matters very well before tieing up the nuptial knot no matter the pressure from friends, parents/family, age factor or personal status. Similarly along the line in the marriage doing it right is very important notwithstanding the provocation from the other marital partner not living up to his/her responsibility.

Even before meeting the king at all his intention is very clear that he was not out to seek damage to others though he is now at advantage position due to the fact he has needed solution with him.
A lot of times we look for opportunity to bring others down, especially those we perceive to be competitors or so called rivals in same workplace or organization especially we have privilege to address higher authorities. We must as believers just like Daniel in the above scripture must realize that whatever we know or have that others don’t have is as given from God and He is able to promote us without destroying others. Even when they have hurt us in the past, we should allow God to judge and avenge on our behalf.
We must strive to keep improving our skills and knowledge as professionals in our different organization instead of working to bring others down. As business owners we continuously endeavor to advance the quality of our services or products rather than speaking evil of another competitor. For politicians, there is no need to seek destruction of your rivals' characters, lives or properties. Your efforts should be to project yourself properly why you are best fitted for the position you are vying for. Also ministers of the gospel should learn to focus on their assignment and stop undue criticism of fellow ministers’ style, doctrine or beliefs.

TEMPTATIONS DURING PRAYERS AND FASTING – WHY IT COMES AND HOW TO OVERCOME

Prayers and fasting are things Christians should do regularly and that is why some churches usually declare a particular period for this.
I will not dwell so much on importance of prayer and fastings but I would be pointing out areas we need to be very mindful to make the most of this spiritual exercise. We will recall from the scripture the first time satan was mentioned during Jesus lifetime was during His prayer and fasting expedition in the wilderness. The temptation of Jesus was very significance for His fulfillment of destiny just the same way the outcome of temptations we faced during our fasting and prayer sessions For the purpose of this article I am categorizing the temptations into three areas:
(1). FOOD: Satan came to Jesus to turn the stones to bread, it is very natural for someone fasting to be hungry. But its not for satan to suggest when to eat. it was the Spirit that led Jesus into it in the first place. Each time we are feeling hungry during prayer it’s a reminder to re-focus on the purpose of the fast for more prayers and study of the Word. Food is important to human but mainly to the body, the spirit and soul also need regular nourishments and that was Jesus response to Satan implies that He had a purpose on earth which cannot be fulfilled with the energy of flesh, thus He needed daily word-shower from heaven, this also applies to everyone who wants to fulfill destiny.
2. EARTHLY POSITION AND AUTHORITY: Usually some of our prayer points during fasting and prayer is that God should promote us. Jesus might likely have been praying for global impact of His ministry. In our contemporary world devil will be suggesting to us men and women who are not given to fasting and has attain the height you are desiring in order to shift our focus, we must refuse to be distracted by this. Jesus replied satan that man is ordain to worship God alone in every situation. Whatever level we are, we must ensure that we are serving God and giving Him glory at all times, as we do this He will keep lifting us and we must keep returning glory due to His name.
3. PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY : The third temptation satan gave to Jesus was that He should jump the mountain instead of just climbing down through the appropriate stairs. He even manipulated scripture in attempt to confuse Jesus into taking wrong decision. Jesus was spiritually smart enough to know and reply him that thou shall not test the Lord thy God. For every spiritual prophecy and promise there is a human part or role to play. We must be conscious of carelessness and negligence of duties suggestions that devil is offering. For instance students believing God for academic success must study, just like those believing God for career breakthrough must do the needful in the current workplace in order to promoted or get better offers. God is miracle worker but not a magician.
The Lord help us to overcome every temptation the devil is bringing our way especially in our period of fasting and prayers. This period is a defining moment we must be very sensitive in order to maximize the opportunities prayers and fasting offers so that we can fulfill the plans and purpose of God for our lives.

A valley is a low area between hills or mountains it and a well is an excavation created in the ground by digging, or drilling to access liquid resources, usually water.

We can infer to say someone in the valley is like being in low level or points. The expected success is ahead. It is to be seen as being in the middle of two accomplishments. While looking forward to great breakthrough, it is important to get revitalised after an accomplishment before another. It is not actually automatic to get a water in all valleys but you can make one you for yourself. The renewal of vigour this water brings is needed to climb the next mountain.
This valley position in our context here will mean a low point in someones life. Its an unexciting state or level someone is. The situation might be self-made or circumstances beyond one's control. Irrespective of what happened the best thing now is take control and charge of the situation for someone's advantage.With heart of gratitude someone should be able to push forward.
Just like people dug well to get water, mined deep down under the soil surface to get oil and solid minerals. It means when you are at the low point in certain areas of life dont give up, you are close to your breakthough point. Only that there are certain procedure or conditions to follow just like in the mining and drilling process.
The first scripture there tells us that there are blessings for those who put there strenght in God. Our natural potentials and abilities will limit us. Relying only our human strenght we cannot prevail in this life, because so many things are beyond our control. We need to put our reliance in God just like machines are needed in the mining industries. Our sole trust in ourselves and others might have caused the downturn in the events of life.
Trusting God alone is not enough, you need to develop very good relationship with Him, the same way our machines need maintenance. Our walk with God need constant renewal,personal prayers and fellowshipping with God's people are very important.
As you do this I see God giving you His grace and glory that will make you shine again to accomplish breakthroughs and success your heart desires.

PORTER ON THE WHEELS
Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying,O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the Lord. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.
Jeremiah 18:3-6

Porter in this scripture text is meant to be a person moulding clay into an artifact. What is now the person was supposed to working on the clay doing on the wheel? The chief porter here is God, He is a master strategist and planner. He had a grand purpose not just to make a beautiful artifact from the clay. He is perfecting a future plan of making a great giant from ordinary clay who pursue a great plan for Him. This is the reason he was working on the wheel first because as soon the clay is perfectly moulded it will get a divine inspiration by Holy Spirit. After then, this object will now be mounted on this machine with wheel to run the race set for him/her.
These processes takes time from one stage to another. It varies from one individual objects to another. We must realise that although God is a Miracle -worker, He is also Master-planner. In the beginning of the story it looks like the porter is ignoring His duty by not attending to clay but He is not. Later when He started working on the clay, the clay was marred in His hand. One would wonder why clay should be marred in His hands, its simply because moulding is ongoing.
Your life might be going through situation that seems God is ignoring you and attending only to others. It is not so He is actually planning and working on the wheels greatly for your advantage. Sometimes we get worried is my life still in God's hand why is it appearing marrred? Don't be downcasted but be excited the plans of God for your life is great.
