SportsRe: Nigeria And Olympics: The Way Forward by akintun: 9:05pm On Aug 13, 2012
We need to send our sports administrators to countries that have achieved a feat in a particular sports. For instance, we can send them to jamaica to go and find out why the jamaicans have become a force to be reckoned with in short distance races because they've not always been this good. We neeed some people to be sent to Australia to go find out how to become a champion in swimming. We can send them to Russia to go find out why they've produced many great gymnasts.

Furthermore, we need to launch an intensive sports programme that will involve every school in country. We have to start from the schools and start grooming talents. Infact any school without sports failities or programmes should be closed down.

Jamaicans are only good in d short sprint in athletics, and d product line 4 their female sprinters is not there. Australia had a disastrous outing in d swimming competition at d Olympics. d countries we are to go to 4 assistance are d top 4 countries on d medal table.
It is even too late to start preparing 4 d games in 2016. We should lay down a good structure 4 2024. Almost all our athletes did not attend d world championships 4 their respective sports, and we expect dem to win medals.
TravelRe: Nigerians have good jobs in UK (enough Of Sad Stories) by akintun: 4:54pm On Aug 12, 2012
Nigerians in d uk succeed. I estimate dat in d short term about 10percent succeed, but d percentage increases d longer u stay and struggle. There are jointly owned Indian clubs in d uk, and there are Asians clubs in d uk.

D wrestler just lost. We no dey chop. can u imagine dis was d man first international competition at 36. Dey take our athletes only to d African championship during d Olympic year and dey expect dem to compete against people dat have been competing in major championships 4 d past 8 to 12 years. We are big time jokers. I knew Chukwumerije was in 4 a tough time early in d competition when i saw d seeding b4 d Olympic started. He fought against d fourth seed and gave a good account of himself. Since d last olympics hw many world championship did d guy attend. I think d answer is none.
FamilyRe: Prenuptial Agreements Vs Gold Diggers: How Effective? by akintun: 1:37am On Aug 11, 2012
South African woman. Dat sounds familiar. I can remember a south African female friend of mine telling me dat she wants to marry a rich white British man and divorce him latter.

our relay team tried, but d exchange to okagbare was poor.
SportsRe: London-2012: Task Ahead Is Clear - Minister Of Sports by akintun: 10:15pm On Aug 09, 2012
wat was written in speech was ok, but the solution given was 1000% rubbish. Start discovering talents from National sport festival is d same old thing. Nothing good can come from it.
CelebritiesRe: Forbes Africa Features Linda Ikeji And Chibundu Onuzo by akintun: 9:46pm On Aug 09, 2012
I always look 4 Forbes Africa on their site but i never see it. Good dat Nigerian women are on d list, but i would have preferred to see young professionals and entrepreneurs instead of a gossip girl. Good 4 her sha.

We are in lane one, and i think dat is good. D baton exchange was very bad btw osayemi and Blessing. dey have to improve on dat
SportsRe: Nigeria Olympic Thread...to Be Updated Regularly by akintun: 8:55pm On Aug 09, 2012
i hope we get lane one in d 4x100

SportsRe: Nigeria Olympic Thread...to Be Updated Regularly by akintun: 8:34pm On Aug 09, 2012
Tosin will need something special. Those guys in d triple jump final are jumping far
SportsRe: Nigeria Olympic Thread...to Be Updated Regularly by akintun: 8:32pm On Aug 09, 2012
Nigeria qualifies
SportsRe: Nigeria Olympic Thread...to Be Updated Regularly by akintun: 12:17pm On Aug 09, 2012
Tosin can get a bronze if he his lucky. D female wrestler disappointed yesterday. Hope d wrestler performs today.
SportsRe: Nigeria Olympic Thread...to Be Updated Regularly by akintun: 8:41pm On Aug 07, 2012
I don't know where d medals are coming from. A Nigerian is representing us tomorrow in wresting.
SportsRe: Nigeria Olympic Thread...to Be Updated Regularly by akintun: 8:30pm On Aug 07, 2012
Her performance at dis championship can destroy her if she is not careful. Her performance can be compared to dat of obikwelu at d Olympics In 2000. He came back strongly representing another country.
SportsRe: Nigeria Olympic Thread...to Be Updated Regularly by akintun: 7:54pm On Aug 07, 2012
Okagbare is out. She just could not jump
SportsRe: Witches And Wizards Responsible For Okagbare’s Failure by akintun: 7:53pm On Aug 07, 2012
D wictches must be strong. She has just been bundled out of d LG
SportsRe: Nigeria Olympic Thread...to Be Updated Regularly by akintun: 7:11pm On Aug 07, 2012
Okagbare starts with a jump of 6.32. Very poor
SportsRe: Witches And Wizards Responsible For Okagbare’s Failure by akintun: 12:32pm On Aug 07, 2012
NAwa ooooo. See someone saying dat blessing did not train. One month ago her SB was wat she ran in d finals. If she has not been training how come she continuous broke her PB up to d final. Blessing was most probably d youngest person in d race. She has d time to improve.
SportsRe: Witches And Wizards Responsible For Okagbare’s Failure by akintun: 12:27pm On Aug 07, 2012
We should take dis witches to d next Olympics . Just maybe we will win something.
SportsRe: Nigeria Olympic Thread...to Be Updated Regularly by akintun: 11:42am On Aug 07, 2012
Tosin qualifies 4 the finals in 9th place. Good 4 him. In d finals anything can happen. Bad 4 Idowu as he fails to qualify.
SportsRe: Nigeria Olympic Thread...to Be Updated Regularly by akintun: 11:26am On Aug 07, 2012
Toxin Oke going well 4 now. I think he will make d finals. Philip Idowu in trouble with one jump left.
SportsRe: Nigeria Olympic Thread...to Be Updated Regularly by akintun: 9:43am On Aug 07, 2012
Tosin Oke goes in d triple jump today. I really don't know how to rate his chances. Okagbare should hopefully win a medal if she can qualify 4 d finals. D female LG is far more competitive Dan d 100 meters. D field is made up of exceptional talents. I just saw d first semi finals of d 400m hurdles, and I can now say dat Ajoke has about 0.1percent chance of getting a medal. Anything can happen.
SportsRe: Nigerians Representing Other Countries In The Olympics!! by akintun: 2:01am On Aug 07, 2012
Nigerians around d world have d right to represent any country. As i have said b4, majority of those representing other countries are actually not performing far better than those representing Nigeria. It would not be right 4 majority of dem to leave d country dat have nurtured dem since their youth to now come and represent Nigeria.
SportsRe: Nigeria Olympic Thread...to Be Updated Regularly by akintun: 1:38am On Aug 07, 2012
The truth is dat we dont deserve any medal from dis Olympics, but d athletes dat have made it far enough deserve encouragement. The Nigerian female boxer Ogoke lost her fight to an extremely experienced Russian, but she gave a very good account of herself when u consider that dis was just her second international competition after d world championship earlier dis year. She defeated d silver medallist from dat competition in d first round b4 losing to d Russian (former world champion in 2010).Our athletes do not attend many world championships b4 coming to d Olympics. Even the taekwondo guy did not attend all d world champ b4 dis Olympics. Egyptians are always sending their athletes to all world champ of combat sports, i dont understand why we cant send ours.
SportsRe: Nigerians Representing Other Countries In The Olympics!! by akintun: 12:07am On Aug 07, 2012
Nigeria is not d only country dat have her athletes representing other countries. Linford christie and Sanya Richard are athletes dat represented other countries.Majority of these naija athletes would not even win a medal. Christine Ohuruogu and Philip Idowu are exceptions.
SportsRe: Nigeria Olympic Thread...to Be Updated Regularly by akintun: 11:57pm On Aug 06, 2012
Different situation to that of Super Felix.Superman is one of the greatest 400M hurdlers the world has ever seen.

Felix has been in such awful form for about 6 years now.He was not even expected to be among d medallist until the semi-finals at d Olympics. Ajoke has won more races than any other Nigerian athlete leading to d Olympics, but she won those races against inferior oppositions. Her only race against top athletes was in Monaco, and she performed badly.I believe dat if she can risk it all, and leave d blocks quickly she can be in 4 a bronze medal.
SportsRe: Nigeria Olympic Thread...to Be Updated Regularly by akintun: 9:50pm On Aug 06, 2012
seeing Felix Sanchez win d 400hurdles men makes me believe Ajoke can win a medal. We absolutely have no chance of winning a medal in d 4 x 400 meters, so she has to put all her effort in tomorrow finals. She surprised me by breaking her personal best. She has to run a low 54secs to win a medal.
SportsRe: Nigeria Olympic Thread...to Be Updated Regularly by akintun: 8:39pm On Aug 06, 2012
She broke her personal best. D girl has a real chance now, but she is d most erratic athlete in d world. She can be very hot and very cold.
SportsRe: Nigeria Olympic Thread...to Be Updated Regularly by akintun: 8:35pm On Aug 06, 2012
Ajoke wins hurdle semi final to qualify 4 finals
PoliticsRe: Our Olympic Performance, A Reflection Of The Nigerian Nation by akintun: 5:38pm On Aug 06, 2012
D performance of our athletes at d olympics is disgraceful. Many of d athletes dat have represented us so far would have won medals if dey competed 4 other nations. Don't 4get dat Our Olympics starts mainly in d second week. We have no excuse 4 not winning medals in a couple of sports. Our athletes don't go to d world champ of various sports, and we expect dem to win medals against seasoned campaigners.
