D 200m performance from d Ukrainians has shown dat Nig chances of getting a bronze in d 4 x 100 is actually very slim.

u correctly said it, Allyson Felix at her best is unbeatable. she's is the only athlete in the competition that can boast to have a legal sub 22s in the event. she has run this numerous times ... so I tip her to win.

with the way Okagbare put her hands on her head after the 100m tells she will seek redemption in the 200m ... lets.keep our fingers crossed...

And Ofkos shelly Ann Fraser Pryce ... the Evelyn Ashford of the 21st century ... very consistent not withstanding her height.

Many athletes compete in long jump and 100m and it does not impact there performance in the 100m.

Carl Lewis and Jesse Owens, Marion Jones both won gold medals in Long Jump, 100m and 200m.

Blessing is simply a choker in the major 100m finals.

Lets hope she could get her nerves under control for the 200m

U are actually wrong. No athlete has done been successful competing first in d long jump b4 doiing d 100m, but a bit of success has been achieved by first competing in d 100m b4 doing d LJ. B4 d WC was introduced in 1983, in 1981 at d athletic WC Carl Lewis did d long jump first b4 doing d 100m and he failed woefully in d 100m. That experience made him to decide dat he would only be going 4 one jump at major champs, but Okagbare went 4 d 6 jumps.

Marion jones was also not successful in 1999 when she tried it, and dat was why she decided to try using drugs from 2000. In 1988 Heike Drechsler tried it and was also unsuccessful . Wat Okagbare tried to do has never been done in d history of d WC.

Nigeria 4 x 400m run in d first round/ semi finals tomorrow evening, and dey are expected to make d finals

There is nothing like over running. If it by running very few races, then someone like SAFP would win nothing. I can remember when she got back her form in Eugene last year, she said dat her secret was to continue running herself into form. The Ethiopians and Kenyans went into hard training without running competively just b4 London , and everyone we expected to challenge Mo Farah just lost their legs.

bigtt76: The solution to Blessing's problem is for her to stop getting burned out before major events. I wonder who her coach is that cannot fathom this common sense. You don't hear of Bolt or any other major winners running record breaking races just before major events. Blessing does just that, breaks all the records before major events and during major events loses steam.

There is nothing like getting burned out b4 major competitions. Ahoure and SAFP ran more races than Okagbare, and they won gold and silver. D Ethiopians told their athletes not to get burn out, and they all disappointed big time at d 10,000m. Getting burn out is a myth, and only on very few cases does it affect an athlete.

I just checked d history books, and noticed dat wat blessing tried to do was pure madness . Competing in d LJ after d 100m has been done b4, but no one in history has had success doing d LJ finals b4 d 100m. It just shows dat it was just too much, especially wen competing against world class athletes.
