A Nigerian Senator under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Elisha Abbo from Adamawa State is currently embroiled in a hot case of Assault.According to Premium Times, Abbo, representing Adamawa North Senatorial District, descended on the woman after she pleaded with him not to physically assault the shopowner whom the senator had accused of insulting him. He said the shopowner called him a drunk.Below is a video of the assault, which occurred on May 11 — nearly three months after Mr Abbo became a senator-elect and a month before he was sworn in on June 11.

The attack happened as an armed mobile police officer looked on, and instead made attempt to arrest the victim.The assault was reported on May 14 at the Maitama Area Command Headquarters on Nile Street, but the police told the victim to go look for Mr Abbo’s telephone number or they would not be able to do anything about it.The victim of the assault and the storeowner declined comments for this story, saying they were afraid there could be a violent backlash from the senator. The victim’s lawyer also declined comment.But witnesses and other sources familiar with the matter told premium times their accounts of what happened. They all declined to be identified, citing fears for their safety.Mr Abbo, a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had entered the shop at about 6:00 p.m. on May 11, a Saturday. The senator walked in with three young women to purchase adult toys.

But shortly after they began shopping for the toys, one of the three girls brought in by Mr Abbo started throwing up. She vomited multiple times, prompting the shopowner to remark that the woman should have vomited outside and not inside her shop, especially since she was not a child.Mr Abbo, who was said to be agitated by the sudden illness of one of his girls, was said to have accused the shopowner of poisoning the store’s air conditioner.The shopowner’s argument that if the air conditioner had been contaminated others in the shop would have also taken ill further angered Mr Abbo, and the two began exchanging words over the matter.In the first five minutes of the 10-minute video, Mr Abbo is seen sitting on a yellow power generator near the entrance of the shop.

He could be heard within this time making calls and asking some people where they were and how close they were.Just before the first half of the video, an armed police officer walked in. Mr Abbo explained to the officer in Hausa that the woman insulted him and that he had called the assistant inspector-general (AIG) over the matter, who then assured him that he would call the police commissioner to call the Maitama Area Command. He also said he was disappointed in the shopowner, with whom he said he had been friends for five years.Mr Abbo, 41, said the police officer should take the shopowner away.

The shop owner quickly called her father to inform him that Mr Abbo had called the police over the matter and that she was about to be taken away.Mr Abbo asked the shop owner to stop the call because he was talking to her, a demand the woman refused to accede to. Another man could be seen coming from behind the police officer to snatch the shopowner’s phone from her.Next, the shopowner’s friend who had been standing nearby tried to intervene by pleading with the second man to take things easy.“Oga, please take it easy now,” she said.Mr Abbo switfly descended on the shopowner’s friend, saying she was “very stupid” and slapping her repeatedly, including directly on the eyes.The senator then demanded that the two women should be taken to the police station.

He repeatedly told the shopowner that he was disappointed in her for calling him a drunk, and that he would have harmed her more and closed down the shop but for their friendship.

You should note that there are other ECA bodies outside Wes &ices. We still have icas, Iqas and Ces, but Wes and ices seem to be more popular here.
Btw Wes & ices, Wes is faster than ices, but has Waec issue which makes people avoid them; another advantage with Ices is that ur transcript can be sent tru email , saving you the cost associated with courier. Ices doesn't send e-copy of ECA report like Wes, they only send hard copies

It depends on distance between sender and the final destination. Use Canadamail tools on their website, it'll give an estimated time of delivery

Good morning all. Please a friend of mine has just gotten her unilag Masters and has applied for SOR. I have advised her to use WES as against the ICES she opted for being that she already evaluated her Bsc last year with the former. She's worried about the waec verification, for lack of time to move about(New job). I wasn't aware that an upgrade would require waec. Please I know there was someone here who was helping completely with the waec verification for a fee but I cant seem to locate any of his posts. If you can help with it and or have used him please kindly help. Thank you.

I'd say there are More than a way to it: if he's willing to go tru the Waec wahala, then he can go with Wes, but if not ices is fine , but he must be ready to pass the accompanying test of patience. I jejely went with ices and got my report in 12 weeks 5 days

Are you a lawyer? If not, why would you ever in your wildest dreams use IQAS? If yes, will your CRS score still be high if your law degree was evaluated below professional? Then use WES or ICES. ICES takes longer than WES tho.

Note: If the official website is saying something different from what we tell you here, please believe the OFFICIAL website. That is the most AUTHORITATIVE source. We give advice here based on their official information. He cannot explain more because he doesn't work with ICES. Trust the website more please. I'm sorry about ur frustration. ICES does not need WAEC & U can pay with your debit card, not necessarily credit card as stated on their website. u can use GTB naira master card. I'm 100% sure

Please, who registered for ICES of late should please help shed more light, I didn't request for additional copy but payment summary is showing addition copy is going to cost me $20.00. Please, those who registered recently should please assist, maybe there's something I'm not doing right.

There must av bn somtin u ddnt do right, the cost of additional copy shd apply only if u request additional copy after the 2 copies that are included in ur $200 initial payment. I also evaluated mine with ICES and only paid $200

Hello, please I'm about to register for my ECA using ICES but I saw where they said all ICES clients receive two copies of their report. and the I will pay additional 20CAD for the second copy. please Is the second copy compulsory since I will be charged for it.

As @ when i did mine both copies were already covered in the $200 fee, only additional copy after this will cost $20, perhaps u need to check well.
Moreover, u only need one copy, since they are exactly the same

I evaluated my hubby's Master's with ICES. Ours wasn't delivered to Nigeria, I used a friend's address in PEI and it took 9days via standard mail. And no, ICES didn't call me, I sent them a mail some days after the scheduled date and they confirmed it had been dispatched a week earlier and there's no tracking number for standard mail.

You can google Canada post. On their site, they have information about expected delivery dates for different locations, so that u'll know when to be on the lookout.

Was it the same nine days u got when u checked the expected time of delivery on Canada post site? The expected time I got has been exceeded and my report is yet to be delivered to Canadian addresses

According to report, The Police in St. Louis County, MO are apologizing for beating up and handcuffing a 22-year-old student who they mistook for a suspect in a car chase

Thursday afternoon. But the college junior, Joseph Swink, has been left with severe damage to his ear and a totaled car, according to KMOV St. Louis.

Swink reportedly crashed his car when he was trying to get out of the way of a police chase. When the car started filling with smoke, he ran away, prompting police to come after him thinking he was the suspect they were chasing. Photographs show Swink’s face brutally beaten and bloodied after his encounter with the cops.

According to St. Ann Police Chief Aaron Jimenez, “All the sirens and lights were going off. It was very loud and they couldn’t hear anything the citizen was saying.” Eventually, they got a radio call saying the real suspect was in custody.

While the St. Ann Police Department is apologizing, they say the mistaken identity has “zero to do about race.” Swink feels differently, telling Fox 2 News he feared for his life. “There was nobody black on the scene, just a lot of white cops. I didn’t feel safe around them,” he said. “I think they probably felt they could get away with it because I was and they can do this.”

He had reason to be afraid. Young black men like Swink are 21 times more likely to be shot by police than white men, often because police use vague racial profiles that make every black man a potential threat.

It could have been worse if the officers had not gotten the radio call when they did. The now infamous police in nearby Ferguson, MO mistakenly arrested one man in 2009, beat him, and then charged him with destruction of property for getting his blood on their uniforms.

Swink had no criminal record and is studying accounting in school. His grandmother told Fox 2, “This is all we ask of our young men, to do the right thing, become productive citizens in this country and he’s not being given that opportunity because someone has mistaken him for a criminal and that upsets me very much.”
