free2ryhme: When did he say so Owerri – The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday said he would ensure that the Naira was equal to the dollar in value, if voted into office. Buhari stated this during the South-East presidential rally of the party at Dan Anyima Stadium, Owerri. “It is sad that the value of the naira has dropped to more than N230 to one dollar; this does not speak well for the nation’s economy,’’ he said. He urged the people to vote for APC, noting that he would ensure that corruption was tackled headlong if elected. Earlier, Gov Rochas Okorocha had urged APC supporters to vote for the party’s candidates at all levels, noting that a vote for Buhari without support to others at the state would amount to nothing. Okorocha said Buhari would address the problem of electricity, bring back the kidnapped Chibok girls and promote industrial growth. He said that Buhari was loved by the people in the region and urged them to elect him and other APC candidates during the March 28 and April 11 general elections. Former governor of Anambra, Mr Chinwoke Mbadinuju and former Minister of Education, Chinwe Obaji, were formally welcomed to the APC at the rally. The rally was attended by APC supporters from Abia, Ebonyi, Anambra, Enugu and Imo. (NAN) |

To my dear humble comrade. A true Niger-Deltan. A humble and enviable Nigerian. I am writing this to you to plea on behalf of Nigeria. It's just less than a month now that you handled over the office of Nigeria President to General Buhari. You celebrated the handing over and parked your belongings out of Aso Rock villa in the happiness and fanfare of those who promised us change. We didn't give you the kind of attention you deserved, instead we were carried away by some elements that told us that there are, better way out. Unknown to very many of us that every attacks they fashioned on you was their cheap ploy to ascend to power to the highest seat of the country. I want to employ my low voice but with my head high high as a Nigerian of a Niger-Delta extraction that the handwritings on the wall now proved that all attacks on you were baseless and political. Those who said you were clueless are now complaining that you didn't. Brief them on how they can for their government. They told us that you can't fight Boko Haram with your approach and governmental statements by employing the co-operation of neighbouring countries, now they are using all the diplomatic/ presidential weapons available for them to seek for co-operations even from the camp of the known enemies. They told us that there are much money in the country but you mismanaged it, but now they are struggling to pay salaries. They told us that the firstlady couldn't speak good English, but we were taken back to West Germany few days ago when modern world were or are already in Germany. They told us that you traveled a lot with no or little time to attend to the needs of the country, but now Nigeria taxing the tune of billions has been spent on trips on visits to countries for nothing while they are yet to appoint cabinets. |

Whatever be the case, why not write thru the appropriate channels?
Publish those request in two/three national newspapers?
Or go through the senators or rep. members representing them?
Why not a peaceful protest? -------------------------------------------------
For the record, make una no feel too important, Kogi my state alone is blessed with 30 mineral resources, we no go the cement factory go blow things up, neither did we go to disrupt the minute activities of the Steel company...
We should help ourselves by hustling thru business with innovative ideas on how to climb no matter how small instead of causing the government lots of resources to fix the destroyed properties.
What did they achieve after destroying it?
They re high on ambiguity.

Bevista: GMB was addressing NASS members during their induction course, where he mentioned 8 challenges that his administration will face on assumption of office. These include Falling oil prices, Insecurity, Youth Unemployment, Power, De-industrialization, Environmental Pollution in ND, Rebuilding of ravaged NE, etc.
Typically, though, the media has singled out Falling Oil Price so as to create a sensational headline. Baba is not making any excuses, he was simply being pragmatic and calling on the Legislature to join/support the Executive as developmental partners to tackle these 8 challenges.
GMB simply highlighted Challenges, something every corporate leader (whether in private business or public service) does. You need to be objective about the issues, so you can come up with the right strategies to tackle them. I'm sure most of you will learn this as you become leaders.
Stop commenting based on headlines, please always read the body of the article. I still believe GMB/APC administration (with $60 oil price) will be miles ahead of GEJ/PDP administrion (with $110 oil price). ''Why is he lamenting? Didn't he say he was going to stabiize the global oil price?'' |
