The bolded is the reason why another bachelors may be necessary for you...

As far as business is concerned especially in the US, you will need some serious IT skills especially since you will be dealing with very highly skilled competitors (the Asian immigrant's & even other Nigerians- with double PhD's)

Short courses in data science and IT are good if you already had a tech or related background, so you basically adapt yourself for the US job market with the short courses.

However if you didn't have the background, the competition in that domain will be too high for you to cope with especially in some states... except you suddenly become a coding guru and developer with a genius startup plan.

Otherwise you have to drastically switch careers like some others have done I.e Nursing... and here is the news flash, yes! you may need to do another bachelors in Nursing, because those CNA short programs won't just cut it for the top paying Nursing jobs.

In Europe on the other hand because of language, I suggest people going there freshly to start a bachelors if possible because they literally cook you afresh... however if you go to most European countries at an advanced age, language will be readily become the main challenge I.e French, German, Spanish etc regardless of your discipline and most people get relegated to blue collar jobs...

So Chairman unless you are ready for intense manual labour for at least 5years and possibly an educational reset with another Bachelor's Degree potentially... don't push to japa, it may not be for you.
I appreciate you!

How about a masters in Management Information Systems? It is an IT degree and a branch of Business Administration(that’s why I can get masters in it directly)
Do you know about its marketability abroad??

As for Europe, I can continue learning my German and reach B1. So language won’t be an issue.

The visa won't be tide to the teaching job. You will be migrating as a permanent resident with the right to work in any field of your choice. You are only using the teacher occupation to get yourself into the country as a PR. It doesn't mean that you must teach. You can work in any field of your choice if you choose to.

I am telling you this because as a fresh graduate, your Business Administration qualification can't get you in without having worked in a high demand occupation with sufficient years of experience. This is where common sense comes in. But with your Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from any Nigeria university and EILTS English test, you can successfully migrate as a permanent resident without having to pass through the study route that requires huge amounts of money.

Even now, most of the countries had tightened their migration rules so much that you can't even stay back after rounding off your post graduate studies abroad, with the exception of the UK and probably the US.

To me, if you really want to migrate, follow this route I just disclosed to you as you are still young. So that when you get in, you have permanently secured your stay. You can then pursue your interest from there by taking some short programs to pursue your Audit career from there.
Thanks a lot for this.

Which countries can I migrate to with the teaching route? Canada comes to mind as you talk about PR on arrival, but what other countries?

Secondly, do I need to get a job offer from Nigeria here?

Question 1:
Business management is in-depth. Bro. ....I am just going to tell you the truth. When you get started, you will notice your weaknesses. All you need to do is look up materials online to learn how to strengthen your weaknesses. For example, I used to lack HR skills. I was not sure how to hire the right person. It was not until I completed my MBA that I realised it was a major issue for me. Then I had to find resources to learn how to hire the best talent. Now, I can navigate it very well. And this is the primary reason I closed my agricultural business: I realized that I needed to increase my investments in the agrobusiness before I could retain the best talent in Nigeria. If not, I will keep wasting my resources....bro...I wasted so much money before realising this. Without other sources of income, I would have been crushed while struggling to maintain a meaningful agrobusiness profit. So, if you have a source of income, you can use it to purchase knowledge in any field if you are willing to invest both time and money. However, you will make mistakes along the way, but your income will keep you going. This is why you need a source of income when starting out. If you do not have a source of income, you will be easily crushed.

Number 2: The concept of investment is encapsulated in one skill: trading. Trading is the skill required to be able to invest. This skill entails learning both technical analysis and fundamental skills. The first thing you should learn is technical analysis, which includes how to read charts. If you can read forex charts well, you can also read cryptocurrency, stock, and futures charts. This is a strategy for assets with a significant amount of data, such as two to three decades. This is why we always recommend that 80% of your crypto assets be in a coin with enough data, which are primarily bitcoin, etherum, and Solana. Then, about 10% should go into promising assets with strong community support. Similarly, etherum began with developers. As long as there are developers, Ethereum will not fail. Then, doge appears to be the fourth if it is associated with electric vehicles. Now that Finland has increased its investment in electric vehicles and Tesla is its official partner, the doge coin is poised for greater success. Also, Elon Musk has linked it to the new department Trump directed him to lead. These are reasons to learn more about doge. The remaining 10% can then be used to invest in any other promising coin, fully aware that such an investment could easily be lost.

Investment is a risky endeavor that should be approached with extreme caution. Most people are eager to begin investing while they should be learning. I have writing about trading and how to go about it. I wish I had started earlier myself, but I am grateful to God for opening my eyes.

If not for Covid-19, Africa would remain in the dark. However, YouTube's acceptance as a result of Covid19 is why there are so many free materials available online. This is why I do not joke about buying enough data to study online every day. Check out my other trading-related threads. It is a boring lane, and few people travel down it. I recommend that you stop investing in it and instead focus on improving your analytical trading skills. If you can know how to trade, you are financially free. Even so-called experts are constantly learning...so the journey is long.
Thank you so much for the detailed response.

However, there are no trading posts on your profile. I presume you’re referring to your alternate account. If so, kindly let me know the username.

I suggest you even switch to a Bachelor's in IT (data analysis) & do a masters in management ...

Yes the road is long... but possible
US is the goal or good EU countries.

I’m deffo not getting another bachelors. It’s not even worth it to do Bachelors is Data analysis when short courses would suffice.

I’m not an IT person though.

There is work here, just think the sector u want to venture into. If you want to be a health care assistant, just get someone in Nigeria that has a hospital that will give u reference, then add it to your CV that I have 5years experience with them, then you will prepare your CV to European standard to stand out, after that, you will do some certification in "Alison", you don't need to pay for the courses, just download the demo cert after the assessment. You can as well start with warehouse jobs. Work plenty here, but they sha require experience, but almost all the Nigerians here lie about their work experience.
I usually like these kind of street orientations😁

The Allison courses, is it necessary for the certificate issued or for the knowledge acquired?

Thank you!

You can look into Tax (which will also require ACCA or ICAN) or Investment Banking (which will require CFA).

Tax is nation-specific while there are really few internationally recognized investment banks in Nigeria. I think I’ll go with Audit.

Your degree matters abroad as some of the largest GDP countires in EU will only give you a work permit if you find a job in the field you studied. An easy route is to pick up a sales job as yu have knwoeldge in business admin. You could also take up skills in Microsoft Power apps which are suited for optimizing business administration and operations. The only snag is you would need at least 3-5 years cognate experience before anyone will look at your CV.

You should also prepare for the langauge, depending onthe country you go to. That you won't learn language na lie and it is not easy. You should be planning about 3 years minimum before you balance into a middle class lifestyle in obod oyinbo. The ralier you start, the better escially considerng the age factor. If you are crossing the 30 years mark , your case is gradually turning to sorry o.
Thanks

The roles I’ll get with this degree aren’t hot cake roles, so it will be difficult for me to convince employers when many of their nationals can do the job without needing sponsorship. This is based solely on my research online.

What if I have ACCA plus solid work experience with a multinational accounting firm(e.g Big 4), will I be able to get a work permit to work in the accounting field in EU?

It doesn't matter what course you studied in Nigeria university, what matters is getting a hell out of Nigeria by any means necessary.
What matters here in abroad (UK) is your ability to adapt to changing circumstances, develop your self through short courses in any sector of your choice.these guys don't care about you degree what they care about is experience. If you are scared of being a "glorified clerk" what about being a security guard or a factory worker?infact when you come you may lobby to become a "glorified clerk" because being one means you work in an office were it warm and all cozy..when COLD in winter wire you for here, you go know say being a "glorified clerk" na luxury.
I can do all these for only a short time. I’m talking about the bigger picture of the lifetime career I’ll do.
Who wants to be a clerk forever with barely any progress career-wise or based on income level?

As you’ve said, I’ll develop myself in relevant sectors.
By the way, I ain’t coming to Lekki phase 3 over there😁

Your course is kinda ceremonial. That's why I am glad I studied a STEM course during my time. Cuz with it, I can migrate even without having a single work experience. But I must prove my skills through assessment to ascertain that I truly acquired my qualification. It's not just a walk through process.

But there is a way out for you to augment your business admin qualification. After rounding off your biz admin, go and do a 1 and half years or 2 years PGDE and migrate as a teacher. This is one of the best options for you cuz I won't suggest school route to you if you are not financially buoyant. You only need to battle with EILTS.

Teachers are hot cake abroad. You don't even need any work experience. All you need is your 45 days teaching practice and you are good to go.

Your current main aim should be how to legally migrate to your preferred country and have a permanent stay. When you get there, you can then pursue your Audit career.
Thank you

But one can’t just pivot from teaching to auditing upon landing without having issues. The visa might be tied to the teaching job. I stand to be corrected though.

What about the school route if finances weren’t to be an issue?

Find money first, do airdrops like zero wallet and layer 3, earn some money,

Learn that web development, use the airdrop money to pay for stuff you need for freelancing or cold emailing

Use that experience from those jobs and learn more from web3.

Passion does not pay the bills when inflation is pressing your neck!
Are airdrops certain? Projects will farm you.
Also, is it airdrops I’ll be using to fend for my family in life?

Freelancing is the only reasonable option you gave.

Your self-awareness and proactive thinking are commendable. Based on your interests and goals, here are steps to take next and countries to consider:

Steps to Take Next

1. Build Relevant Skills:
• Audit: Learn tools like Excel, QuickBooks, and other accounting software. Consider pursuing certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CIA.
• Management Consulting: Develop problem-solving, analytical, and presentation skills. Build proficiency in tools like PowerPoint and data analytics platforms.

4. Networking:
• Use platforms like LinkedIn to connect with professionals in your fields of interest. Seek informational interviews and mentorship opportunities.
5. Work on Your Profile:
• Tailor your CV and LinkedIn profile to showcase transferable skills, internships, and certifications.

Countries to Consider

1. Canada:
• Programs: MBA, Master’s in Finance, or Accounting.
• Benefits: Immigration-friendly policies, high demand for finance professionals, and a straightforward path to permanent residency.
2. United Kingdom:
• Programs: Master’s in Accounting and Finance, Management, or Business Analytics.
• Benefits: Strong financial and consulting industries, and the Graduate Route visa for work post-study.
3. Australia:

Just apply for your masters, when you travel abroad, you will know that your degree means nothing or else u are a health care worker, nurse, doctor, etc, the major country that can easily give you visa once you get admission is the UK and the country doesn't care about your degree certificate, but they are so keen on your skills and certifications. Going through studies can be difficult for a start but u will be fine once u are ready to hustle. The money u make can't compare with someone in Nigeria. You don't need any skills yet just come

If you're considering a career in Audit, you can start by pursuing ICAN or ACCA. I'll recommend ACCA since you are looking to travel abroad.

Since you have a BSc in Business Administration, and you're looking toward building a career in the areas you listed above, getting a certification in Finance will be a very good starting point for you. And I can tell you that Finance is still a very lucrative field even overseas. All you need to do is make sure you are tech savvy, once you are combine that with your Finance knowledge, the sky will be your starting point.

Best wishes.

Get into a globally recognised firm in professional services and/or financial services. Get the experience (at least three years). Get relevant and recognised certifications such as ACCA, CAIA, CFA etc. Actuarial certifications are also helpful. Apply to be transferred to an office in the abroad. This would take time. So five years minimum. If internal transfer isn't possible, apply to MBA programs that are good but aren't too expensive. For instance, in the UK, apply to Imperial College MBA not Cambridge or London Business School unless you get enough money or the brains to win a scholarship. In the US, target MBA programs in the Texas area - many Nigerians, lots of good schools and abundant scholarships. Make sure the MBA program is STEM approved so you benefit from the three years OPT program.

Alternatively, with your globally recognised certifications, apply to jobs in the UAE and South Africa. With a UAE or South African experience, you become further eligible for roles in the Western World and East Asia.

There are Nairalanders who have done what I outlined here. Good luck!

If I had known what I know now, I would have gotten a lot further than I do now. Nonetheless, I am pleased with my success.

What we study does not matter. Just get any degree, and you can navigate your way through. The only advantage we have is that we know what is currently trending, and even if we do not study it in school, we can easily learn it. Why? Your first step should be to find a job and earn a small income in your 20s after leaving school. Become an expert in what is popular and make a living from it.

With your savings, you should do what rich men do to increase their wealth, which includes:

1. Start a business. Look for disruptive technology and innovation to solve the problems that the majority of people face, and you will make money. You may start a business and find yourself in the same league as salary earners, which is something you want to avoid. This is why you must be prepared before starting a business. And you prepare by first gaining experience earning money elsewhere and learning business management.

2. Invest in both paper and digital assets. Learn to trade or find an expert who can do it for you. Forex, futures, stocks, crypto, etc. There are three types of trading strategies: day trading, short term trading, and long term. Most people enter long term when they are unable to read charts well. Therefore, you should look into stocks and crypto. The issue is that S&P 500 and it's like generates around 18% turn over presently annually, while digital assets give like 150% ....but it is a double edged sword. You must understand the difference between gambling and investment. This is one area all rich men go into. Elon is currently working on making the doge currency stronger. Hmm. This should teach you something about digital assets.

3. Real estate: This area is very technical because there is not as much money as there used to be, but if you understand it, you will make a lot of money. The annual rental strategy is a nonsense business. I can not believe Nigerians are still building to collect annual rent. Lol...when monthly rent is no longer satisfactory in most places. The new deal involves short-term leases. It is a lucrative business. Or you get some money, buy a house, and then resell it after remodeling it to maximize your profit.

These are the three areas you should focus on. If you do not do any of the above, you will not be rich. You van be comfortable. As a result, if you have not yet begun, your first task is to become an expert in a trending business area and sell your products or services for a fee....or you use your knowledge to find a job and earn a reasonable salary.

If you can not find a good source of income, you will be stuck for a long time, believing witches and wizards are after you. Then you will have to urgently consider relocation, which is why you should seriously consider JAPA. Of course, starting with a security job, UBER driving, or any other casual job is a good way to get started. Then you can start improving and increasing your wealth from there.
Again, look into a way to make 1 instead of the 0 you are currently making. You can multiply one.

Good luck to everyone.
OP here

If Nairaland could bookmark posts, I sure would bookmark this for constant revisit. So many insights in one post.

I have a couple of questions.
1. One can easily gain money-earning experience by getting a good job. However, not all jobs afford one the opportunity to learn business management. How do you suggest one learn business management as an employee in a firm where you don’t get to see the business workings of the firm?

2. I entered crypto without much knowledge, I got my hands burnt. The volatility watered down my interests in it.
As for stock trading, If I were to start trading today, what do I need to know about the losses within it? Losing the little I have now will be beyond devastating.

Lastly, you have passed through my situation before and you are now way ahead. I wouldn’t mind getting ongoing MENTORSHIP from you please.
As for the value I should offer in return, I may not have financial resources, but I believe you can find value in me which you might need.

Thank you Sir.

I laid my hands on tech(web development). The saturation and absence of entry level roles threw me off. Also, I don’t enjoy it, I went into it because I heard it’s lucrative.
I regret not studying a STEM course, but there’s no need crying over spilt milk.

So far, I’m considering a career in Audit, management consulting, and investment banking.

Let me share with you a story from my perspective as a Nigerian lady, about the pressure we face to meet unrealistic standards set by Nigerian men.

In today's society, it feels like every Nigerian man has a laundry list of requirements for the "perfect" woman. She must be beautiful, slim, educated, respectful, and of course, able to cook like a gourmet chef. It's as if we're expected to be superwomen, capable of fulfilling every desire and expectation thrown our way.

As a result, many of us feel like we're constantly falling short. We're bombarded with images of flawless women on social media, in movies, and in magazines, and we can't help but compare ourselves to these unattainable standards.

It's not just about physical appearance either. Nigerian men also expect us to be submissive, obedient, and always put their needs before our own. We're expected to sacrifice our dreams and ambitions for the sake of our partners, without question or hesitation.

But the truth is, it's exhausting trying to live up to these unrealistic expectations. We're human beings with our own hopes, dreams, and flaws. We have bad days, insecurities, and moments of weakness, just like anyone else.

And yet, we're constantly judged and criticized for not measuring up to some arbitrary standard of perfection. It's enough to make you want to scream, to demand to be seen and appreciated for who we truly are, flaws and all.

But despite the pressure, we persevere. We refuse to let society define our worth or dictate our value. We embrace our imperfections, our quirks, and our individuality, and we demand to be loved and respected for exactly who we are.

So to all the Nigerian men out there with their unrealistic standards, I say this: we're not here to fit into your narrow mold of what a woman should be. We're here to shatter stereotypes, break barriers, and live our lives on our own terms. And if you can't handle that, well, that's your loss.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DNoFXD4Bjo
Virtually nothing you listed there is unrealistic and unattainable. Our fore mothers did it and it's no biggie.

Everyone have standards. Virtually every lady wants to be Odogwu's wife, Oga's wife. What of those men that are not Odogwus, Ogas?
