Okay. Something must be done about this looting. Investors shouldn't be subjected to pay f or all these if not politicians. Let them take over

Our government has nothing to do with people's business. I pray that God will provide and uplift all the affected business men and women. The government won't help anyone for sure.

you people took Buhari for granted because he quickly succumb to your demand and proscribed SARS, you were thinking that you can intimidate him to resign, all of you are living in fool's paradise
I told my neighbors the same thing but it seems they are not ready to understand. Take zakizaki case as an example, despite the protest, death and so much prosecution yet the president refused to grant their requests but the youths got their answers in less than a week but they are not satisfied. I hope the regret and pain will not be shared by the innocent peoples later on.

Any Muslim supporting this should know that it is unslamic and they should repent immediately. We are asked to pray for our leaders and ask God to help them succeed in leading us.

It’s quite unfortunate!

You think you just attacked the government? How many of these politicians use public transports?
You have rendered many jobless and some of these traders and shop owners might be suicidal now.

Wisdom you lack.

Same thing happened here in Abuja four days ago. Many taxi was burnt, motor bike and others. There was a man who happens to be a car dealer, ten of his cars was burnt that day.

keep quiet!
Every child learn at their own pace! If you aren't a parent just shut it instead of making this op feel something is wrong with the child.

nothing is wrong with that child. he isn't a slow learner and he isn't anything. he is a child and should be allowed to learn at their pace.

My children at 3plus can't write anything but check back at 4plus and see them reading literature .Theyd always look me in the face and say I don't want to write anything and go back to playing.
Playing is fundamental to a child's mental development.

you the father should engage him and plz play with him. Talk about his favourite cartoon or game of interest and infuse it in what you want to teach them . If you shout or flog you instil fear in them and the aim is defeated.

If it is1 or 2 letters that was learnt in a day, praise him and repeat again 2moro.

Again, nothing is wrong with him. you ppl should stop stressing him. Don't listen to those who tell you that their 2 yr olds are already writing up-to 500.

God bless you jare. The teachers are trying their best and your child is trying as well. for the fact that he is not in nursery yet, he is doing well for his age group please don't stress him out else he will start seeing learning as a burden. The mother needs to be admonished as well because the beating and torture is unnecessary. Haba! He is just a child, he needs encouragement and love to build him for the future not torture.

Did OP also realize that there are some children of same age group who don't know anything? Not even 1-10 and they are in the same class.

Your child is doing well and am sure he will perform better as he is growing up. So, please take it easy with that child.

Smile, seriously, please what did you know about Christan or Christianity?

Really, like the way Islam claim that Jesus lied about his death and resurrection or like the way Muslim cliam that Muhammad is the comforter, you people are hilarious.

You want to be left alone but you people can't stop poking your nose on someone else religion yet if you are treated the same you will start crying like a baby. And sorry miss, you are never a Christian, we have see your likes before
I don't need to prove myself to you because the empty drum makes so much noise. I am not you who live a lie even after the truth is in front of me and to surprise you further my uncle is still a pastor till today. He was a zonal pastor then before I left their house.

When I said that I know something, I am certain about it.
You said we poke nose but perhaps you don't know the meaning of what you are doing now? I have never see reasons why I should comment on the Christian topics except if necessary despite the fact that there is no restriction for me to do so.
But you what do you know know how to do best? You denounce your god and your religion in front of millions of people just to post a comment that will be used against you on the day of recompense. Is that how to prove your commitment to your religion? Is your faith so worthless that you throw it away at any time you like? Is your god so unworthy that you denounce and renounce him at will?

Yes I believe in the one God and Jesus is a messenger and all other messengers before him. May peace and blessing be upon them all. I also believe that Muhammad (saw) is the final and last messenger of God on earth.

Jesus did not die nor was he a god or the son of God. You will know the truth sooner but it might be too late for you because then maybe you are no more.

Walahi...

You hardly see Muslims with hatred like this on their thread rather it is still Christians like them that would derail the thread

I was once a Christian. I spent my entire teenage years in the redeemed Christian church of God because my uncle was a pastor of the church and he always ensures that we attend every camp activities being that we are close to the camp.

I know so much about Christianity both inside and out, the good and the bad, the truth and the lies.

I know many solid biblical verses with which I can contradict the Christians and many of their posts but Islam has not taught me that.

Islam has taught me to preach the word of God in the most beautiful and calm way.

Very nonsense religion with archaic and anachronistic practices.

Why would Muslim societies choose to be so backwards and refuse to evolve??
Why would they believe that a female is fundamentally inferior to a male and see to suppress that female.

I was really shocked to learn that it is bad for a woman to shake Hands with any male who is not her husband, that is just plain rubbish.
This religion needs to undergo total reformation and refurbishment.
Minding ones business is a great principle and a good way to avoid problems. We are Muslims and Islam is our religion, we are content with the way we practice our religion.
But if the rules are not good enough for you then you need to make your own personal decisions.

Why should I expose my beauty to random men?
Why would I be shaking hands with just any man?
Why should I forget my chastity just to please humans when I am not answerable to them but my God?

When some people attribute Islam to the northerners, I always disagree because every of their views and actions are mostly Un-Islamic. They are always doing things according to their own rules and selfish reasons, then hide under the religion to execute their plans but unfortunately most of them masses does not have the right knowledge to defend themselves. They don't know what islamically acceptable and what is not. How can they fight for their rights? You are not allowed to do things in islam without having a solid evidence to back it up, where is their evidence? This is purely terrorism and must be stopped soonest.

fine! you are allowed to do or believe that, But remember you will be the one giving birth to these 1,2 or 3 kids. God will not turn up at your doorstep and hand these children to you. cheesy cheesy So it would be your responsibility to stop yourself from having sex, not getting pregnant and giving birth to dozens of kids you cannot cater for.

People like me who do not believe in God religion can have kids too and has kids, I have 3 kids myself so again it has nothing to do with God. I had 3 because i can cater for for 3 God didn't give them to me.

My point is people should apply common sense and personal responsibilities not some sheer believes that God will give them some handouts to care for their 2 dozen kids because God gave them these kids. cheesy
Setting your priorities right does not have anything to do with your beliefs, believing that God will provide you with what you need to care for your children does not mean you should have too many of them. To me it is faith not stupidity. We have seen people who have just one but fall short in their responsibility and we have seen those who have four and are doing very well. I believe that children are trust given to us by God and we will give account on how we raise them. So a believer should think before making a decision and I myself have just two children for now and the second one is almost five years. Not every intimate must result in pregnancy.

Setting your priorities right does not have anything to do with your beliefs. A Muslim perspective is that children are trust from God which everyone who has them will give account of on the day of judgment. Believing that God will provide what you will need in caring for your children does not mean that you will birth dozens of them and to me it is not stupidity, it is faith.

A lot of people have just one and they still fall short in their responsibilities but we see those people with four who are doing well. I don't support having too many children because I myself have just two for now and the second one is almost five years.

God has nothing to do with this, Poor people should not give birth to children if they cannot care for them financially. Simple! these poor ignorant people go about having sex, getting pregnant and giving birth to dozens of kids while waiting for and unexistence God to send them money to care for these poor kids.

They need to be educated.
Don't get it twisted man I am praying for myself for God to grant me the number of children that I will be able to cater for be it 1,2,3 or none at all. God should grant me what is within my capabilities.

I don't even know what to say. The maltreatment is just too inhuman. I can't even imagine the pain the poor girl is going through. Just look at her stomach. It is obvious she is starving the little girl because she looks like a Kwashiorkor victim. And you expect her not to lick the baby's milk.

There is a special place in hell for people like this woman who treat their help like slaves.
If not for poverty or circumstance beyond a person's control that child is supposed to be with her parents and not become someone else maid. May God give us children that we can raise and help us to raise the kids successful without having to send them to another man's house.

About islamophobia, I don’t know if that’s really a modern challenge. I did observe more islamophobia in certain parts of the world versus in others. And I think I understand what you mean when you call it a modern challenge.

The question was leaning more towards things like modern technology, modern laws and legislations, Advancement in immigration and emigration, expanded educational curricula etc.
Has any of that been a challenge to your religion?

For example, in the Catholic Church, modern legislations that now allow gender equality and same sex unions poses a problem to the tradition of the church because it has a patriarchal foundation. A woman still can’t be a priest in the Catholic Church while in some other Christian domains, women pastors are allowed.

Same same unions are still a long way from being acceptable even though the new pope makes comments about acceptance and subtraction of judgement. The tradition is still so strong that even the pope’s words are not convincing that many people.

Do you find such modern advancements to be problematic in your islamic religion. Not to you personally but to the group as a whole.

Thank you smiley
Ok now I understand better but to be honest with you this things does not affect Islam in any way because Islam has not changed at all nor does the rules guiding. A true Muslim must abide and follow the Qur'an and Sunnah of the Prophet which is the hadith and this has not changed since 1400 years ago up until now and I don't think it will change. Allah has said he's the one who sent down the Qur'an and he will protect it from any kind of corruption or being tampered with. The Prophet (saw) in his last address to the Muslims during the minor hajj has told the Muslims that Allah has perfected their religion for them on this day has chosen Islam for them as their way of life both the ones at that time and those to come after them. Whatever is haram(prohibited) during the time of the Prophet is haram even now and whatever is halal (permissible) still remains the same.

What challenges can you identify that your religious tradition faces in the modern world? Do you feel that your religious tradition is responding positively?

If yes or no, do you mind explaining?

Thanks
The one i know of is Islamophobia. Don't know if that's correct.
But it should not be a surprise to the Muslims because the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) has told us that a time will come when Islam will become a strange religion and that is one of the signs of the end time.

For me No because I believe religion is superior to cultural beliefs. One end in this world but the other is of utmost importance in the next life. And Islam means total submission to the will of God almighty so you must be ready to submit to God's will at all times.

What do you consider sacred?

Are there certain acts of reverence you must perform?
certain people who are sacred?
Places you consider sacred?
the act of reverence i know of are the pillars of Islam. Every other thing falls in between them, especially when they are being explained, the rules and regulations guiding them.

I don't think I understand the meaning of sacred people but the Prophet's are sent by God with his message to guide the human kind to the right path.

The holy kaaba is the first of the Muslims sacred place of worship, masjid-al-aqsa Jerusalem and the Prophet (saw) mosque in Medina.

What Material objects do you use in the expression of your faith?
What Physical elements are symbolic in your religion? Do you use statues, paintings, musical instruments, objects like incense, flowers, clothing, architecture or sacred places?

For example in orthodox churches, rosaries, paintings, statues and sanctuaries are some examples of physical religious expression.

Do you have similar symbolism?

By Allah, there's none that i know of except the Qur'an and hadith which are the word of God and that of his Prophet.

What are some emotions that are associated with your religion?
dread of sin to avoid offending the divine?,

guilt if you sin?,

awe of the divine?

mystery, devotion, liberation, inner peace?

Do you believe in rebirth (reincarnation) on earth or a life beyond the earthly one?

A Muslim should not be dread of sin because we are humans and Allah who created know us better than ourselves that is why he has given us the chance for repentance no matter how many times you err Allah will forgive you if repent sincerely, he is the most forgiving, the most merciful.

A believer must feel guilty when commit a sin because if you don't then you won't see any need for
repentance.

A believer must have taqwa (consciousness) and sekinah (tranquility). Fearing your lord as he must be feared both in public and in private. And sekinah is believe that whatever happens to me is from my Lord and to be patience in every situation I might find myself.

I don't believe in rebirth but I do believe in life after death, and I believe in the day of recompense. The day of accountability.

What kind of rituals do you practice?

Not rituals in the negative sense as portrayed by Nigerian movies . But acts of religious devotion that you’re physically encouraged to partake in.

For example, In the catholic church, some rituals practiced include holy communion as a sign of oneness with Jesus , or using of ash to smear the forehead on Ash Wednesday as a sign of penitence. Do you have any similar rituals in Islam?
Muslims have the five pillars of Islam.
Iman(faith)
Salat(prayer)
Zakat (charity)
Sawn(fasting)
Hajj(pilgrimage)

This are the five pillars of Islam which every Muslim must know and abide with. It is like the foundation of your beliefs and there are rules that guide each of them, some of them are compulsory as long as you are a Muslim and able to perform them while some are not especially if you can't or unable to perform them due to some reasons.

What are some central myths that you share?

Like Christians believe Jesus died and resurrected.
He turned water to wine or that he fed 5000 folks with 2 fish.

Stuff like that.
We believe that God is one without a partner.
We believe in all his Prophet's from Adam, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Jonah, Jesus, Muhammad and all of them. May peace and blessings be upon them all.

We believe in the miracles that God performs through each of them and their message which is monotheism.
But we don't believe in the crucifixion of Jesus, we believe that God honored him and take him to the heaven alive and he will return to earth during the end of time.

How is your belief system and its ideals practiced? as a group of believers who come together? How do you come together?

As a Muslim you must believe in the sahadat which means "there's no god worthy of worship but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger". A Muslim must believe in absolute oneness of God, his messengers including Jesus son of Mary, his books, paying Zakat (charity), observing Ramadan (fasting), going to hajj if able and obeying all the commandments of your lord..

We come together through salat (prayer) the muslim prayer is the same anywhere and the language of the Qur'an is what is being used by all which is Arabic and the rakat is universal too.

Secondly through Ramadan (fasting during the sacred month) this is something that every Muslims unit in doing. The same month and the same way.

Thirdly is the hajj. Going for pilgrimage to visit the house of Allah where Adam the first human and Ibrahim and their great grandchildren worship their lord. In the hajj the prayer is being led only one person while the millions of others pray behind him. He is referred to as the Imam.

1) what is your belief system and religious world view?

i.e How do you believe life on earth came about? What do you think is the purpose? Belief in a creator or no Creator?
I will try to answer your questions to the best of my knowledge but I am not a scholar, I am still learning everyday too.

I believe God almighty created the universe without any help and without tiredness as against the belief of some.
The purpose of this life as a Muslim is to worship our creator because Allah said in the glorious Qur'an that he created mankind and jinkind solely for us to worship him.
I do believe there is a creator and I testify to his oneness and that he has no son, nor beginning nor end, no partner nor assistant, unique and omnipotent.
