Please do so if you want a life of your own. I hope you’ve also learn from the mistakes your sister made
Loveabove:
Please I need you people's advice and I want to be as brief and straight to the point.

My sister gave birth to 2 children under circumstances I'm not to explain here. She took ill and passed away last month.

Since we were just two of us, (our parents are late) the responsibility of taking care of this little kids of 8 and 5 has fallen on me.

God knows I love these kids and would take them as my own but I don't have a job and struggling seriously to survive. It's killing since they became my full responsibility. I was thinking any of the extended family member or a good person would come up to take them.

House rent has expired and problems everywhere.

Since no where else to take them to, I'm considering taking them to the orphanage. It's not my fault please. If I have the means, i would keep them and take very good care of them as they are very dear to me.

Like i said, i love this two boys and would take them as mine, providing for them now as it should, is the challenge.

Their presence is even affecting the small thing I am doing, especially by way of paying attention to them.

Please advise me on what to do.

It is not held. It will be delivered to you within weeks.
onlinetrader:
Hi Nairaland Family..

I don't know if I am the only one to have observed this. These days, when you buy items like phone from AliExpress, the tracking moves smoothly until it reads "Received by Local Delivery Company". Sometimes, when it gets to this point, it stays there forever..and if at all it leaves this point and you want to claim it in the local post office, you will be charged heavily by the people in the post office.

Bought so many items like a month ago, out of which was a Poco phone. All other items have been delivered except this phone which I first ordered. This phone got to destination country (NGN) on the 8th of May before other items...but till now, tracking shows it hasn't left the custody of Nigerian customs.

What is the problem exactly? Is it that the phone has been "hijacked" OR the process to clear items like phone is different from wears and other items?

Please help

TravelTrump Administration Plans To Add Nigeria +six Other Nations To Travel Ban List by Aliyuminna(op): 7:04am On Jan 22, 2020
The Trump administration is planning to add seven countries - Belarus, Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Nigeria, Sudan and Tanzania - to its travel ban list, U.S. media reports said on Tuesday.

Some countries will face bans only on some visa categories, the Wall Street Journal reported. The list of countries was not final and could yet change, website Politico said.

U.S. President Donald Trump said in an interview with the Journal that he was considering adding countries to the travel ban, but declined to state which ones. Politico said an announcement was expected as early as Monday.

The move is likely to sour ties between the United States and the countries affected under the expanded ban.

A senior Trump administration official said that countries that failed to comply with security requirements, including biometrics, information-sharing and counter-terrorism measures, faced the risk of limitations on U.S. immigration.

Under the current version of the ban, citizens of Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Syria and Yemen, as well as some Venezuelan officials and their relatives are blocked from obtaining a large range of U.S. immigrant and non-immigrant visas.

Chad was previously covered under the ban but was removed in April 2018.

Citizens of the countries can apply for waivers to the ban, but they are exceedingly rare.

Islam20 Common Mistakes People Make In Ramadan by Aliyuminna(op): 9:31am On Jun 03, 2018
1. Focusing on Food
To focus to the extent that people begin to worry about eating more than actually fasting. This also goes along with spending heaps of money on iftars even though a person does not need to eat that much food.

2. Making Sahoor much before Fajr

Eating sahoor a few hours after Tarawih or Isha prayer is wrong. It should be taken closer to the time of Fajr.

3. Forgetting Intention of Fasting

There are people who don’t make niyyah (intention) for fast, as they think this is something which is in heart and doesn’t need to be verbal. They also think the intention needs to be made once at the beginning of Ramadan and not every single day, which is wrong.

4. First Day Fasting

If you find out late that Ramadan has started, you should stop eating and fast for that day, making that day up after Ramadan/Eid ends.

5. Tarawih Prayer

About Tarawih, some think that it is not prayed on the first night of Ramadan, believing it should be started after the first day of fasting. They forget that the Islamic calendar runs on the moon, Maghrib is the start of the new day.

6. Eating or Drinking by Mistake

Many people believe if you eat or drink by mistake this breaks your fast. This is false. If you happen to eat or drink by mistake then you continue fasting and do not need to make up for the day.

7. Using Miswak or Toothbrush

Many people think you cannot use a miswak or toothbrush during Ramadan. This is false, for the Prophet (peace be upon him) would use miswak during Ramadan. Also you can use toothpaste; the reasoning by the scholars is that the miswak has flavor, thus toothpaste is okay to use [if you are not eating it].

8. Intimacy
Many believe sleeping with spouse during the whole month of Ramadan is forbidden. This is false, you cannot do this only during the times when you are fasting. Between Maghrib and Fajr it is permissible to do.

9. After Menses
Many women believe that if their period has just ended and they did not make ghusl, they cannot fast that day (considering their period ended at night, and they went to bed without ghusl, waking up without having a chance to make it). This is incorrect, if a women has not made ghusl she can still fast.

10. After Intercourse

Many men believe that if he has had intercourse with his wife and did not make ghusl (similar to the above) then he cannot fast the next morning. This is also incorrect, for he can fast even if he has not made ghusl.

11. Prayer Times

Some people pray Dhur and Asr prayers together during Ramadan. This is incorrect and should be avoided.

12. When to Start Eating

Some people believe you cannot eat until the caller to prayer is done calling the Maghrib Adhan. This is incorrect, as soon as he starts a person can break their fast.

13. Making Dua

Many people don’t take advantage of making dua before they break their fast. This is one of the three times when Allah accepts a person dua.

14. Last Days of Ramadan

Many people make the mistake of spending the later part of Ramadan preparing for Eid, neglecting Ramadan. This is incorrect and these people lose the concept of what Ramadan is about.

15. Manners
Some people think Ramadan is just about refraining from eating and that it is nothing to do with one’s behavior. In fact we are supposed to control our tempers and badmouthing more during Ramadan.

16. Wasting Time

People often waste their time. They tend to sleep the whole day and doing nothing. Ramadan however provides us opportunity to take advantage of this blessed month by doing more worship.

17. Fasting While Traveling

Some people travel much during in this month thinking they will have to break their fast while traveling. This is in fact optional. If someone wants to break fast while traveling one can (with making it up later), otherwise one can continue fasting.

18. Swallowing Saliva

Some say you cannot swallow your spit during Ramadan. This too is false. However you cannot swallow mucus that has entered your mouth.

19. Using scents

Some say you cannot use scented oils or perfumes during Ramadan. This too is false.

20. During Ablution

Putting water inside nose and mouth during wudu would break fast is another wrong perception.
May Allah accept our sincere Ibadah to Him

People actually know very little of our beloved Prophet. And we don't understand the wisdom behind marrying multiple wives. All of his other wives are either widowed or divorced. One of his wife was 65 yrs when he married her. Aisha was his only wife he married like it was in Arabian tradition at that time

Please stop ridiculing Islam, please stop.

Go down and read your tormented argument of miracles Prophet Muhammad performed again , you are only trying to proof points that never existed.

First, you should know that all Prophets ( from Adam to Mohammad; including David and Jesus) are all Allah's prophets and there is no competition as to who perform more miracle and that is not the basis of faith for those who believe and are rightly guided. Allah guide whoever he wishes.
You speak so much about the extraordinary birth of Jesus, what do you say to the being of Adam?
Finally, read the story of Abraham and his children
IslamIs Islam The True Religion? by Aliyuminna(op): 8:11am On Feb 23, 2018
Islam is the very call of the Highest Creator to the humble human being to surrender, with his will and power, to the Infinite Power and the Supreme Sovereign.

Islam is the light and the beacon that shows man where to step and how to be safe from falling into the abyss of vice.

Islam is morality clothed with mercy, and mercy clothed with perfection.

Islam is the course that governs life and elevates man above the boundaries of his physical appetites and animalistic whimsical desires that endanger his spirituality and degrade his morality.

Does the sun need proofs to show to man that it is there?

Man can deny the existence of the sun, but it is his own problem and not that of the sun.

Islam is the sun that shines in the corners of man’s life and shows him the way to happiness.

Although Islam stands as clear and bright as the sun, it gives certain signs to those whose hearts are still feeling doubt and those whose hearts are thirsty for truth.

Let’s now jump to the issue of the signs and the evidence standing in support of Islam and they are so many, so we name but a few:

Firstly: Textual Evidence
The evidence includes the texts that came prophesying the advent of Islam and the Prophet of Islam, whether in the previous scriptures or in the Quran; the Book of Islam.

In Deuteronomy 18:18, we find that God spoke to Moses and said to him that He will raise from among their brethren a Prophet like unto him (Moses) and he (the prophet) will speak of God.

In so many other places in the Bible, we will get the names of ‘the Prophet’ in combination with the messiah and the Baptist.

This Prophet is none but Muhammad; the Prophet of Islam.

Also, he is referred to in the Bible as ‘Elijah’ coming from the Arabian Peninsula. There is also a reference to the light coming from the mountains of Pharan.

The textual evidence in the previous books are also referred to in the Quran in the stories of the Jews and Christians and the glad tidings given by Jesus to his people that there will be a final Prophet coming after him whose name will be Ahmad.

In Surah 3 (Aal-Imran), Almighty Allah tells us that He has taken the covenant from all prophets and messengers to believe in this final prophet who comes with the same message that is monotheism, the true message of Allah sent with all prophets and messengers.

Secondly: Logical Evidence

The very message of Jesus and his short stay on earth show that there was a need for another prophet to come settling all issues and showing complete course of guidance for all humans.

This conforms with the saying of Jesus himself that he came not to initiate something new but to fulfill.

The world, before the advent of the Prophet of Islam was in a case of a total disruption and complete disorder.

There were two main superpowers that engaged in a series of wars and fierce fighting, there was no place for the weak; rather, social injustice was spread everywhere and man’s condition went, in terms of morality, to alarming levels.

This unjust chaos and total disruption showed that there was a need for a religion that could re-establish order again.

This was the condition of the world when Islam came with a complete social justice system, rights and equality, illumination and morality.

Thirdly: Other Evidence

There are so many other evidences that Islam is a religion of truth. Among them are the following:

The Quran is the eternal message of Islam and a timeless miracle that no one can produce the like thereof. Arabs, who were masters of linguistic excellence, could not produce the like of the shortest verse of the Quran when they were challenged to do so.
Islam calls for understanding and a deep search in one’s self, in the creation of the heavens and earth and the contemplation in everything around man. Had Islam been a false religion, it would have asked man to cripple his mind and paralyze his intelligence and stop thinking about anything. (see Surahs 2:164, 6:11, and 6:95-100)
Modern science testifies to Islam; the Quran contains lots of scientific facts that were completely unknown at the time of its revelation. They were just discovered recently. This is in itself standing evidence on the truthfulness of the Quran. The Quran gives facts about the life of the fetus in its mother’s womb (23:12-14), the layers of the earth (76:2-3, 65:12), stars and planets, the fall of the rain and lots of other issues that are only known to scientists who are deep in knowledge. Is Islam the True Religion
There were lots of material miracles that were performed and eye-witnessed during the life-time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Among these miracles is the flow of water from between his fingers, the dividing of the moon into two pieces, his speech to a lizard which was able to tell that he is the messenger of Allah besides so many other miracles that were performed and eye-witnessed by his contemporaries.
These are but a few of the many evidences supporting Islam and showing that it is the eternal message of Allah and a religion of truth.

IslamRe: 9 Habits Of The Prophet That Science Later Proved by Aliyuminna(op): 9:25am On Feb 16, 2018
Avoid sleeping on the stomach:
“The Messenger of Allāh (s) came out in the night to check up on his guests, and saw me lying on my stomach. He prodded me with his foot and said, ‘Do not lie in this manner, for it is a way of lying that Allāh hates.’” [9]

Due to the weight of the spine, adults and even babies are told not to sleep on their stomachs by doctors, since this manner of sleeping has a severe effect on the internal organs and the spine. Advise to mothers is not to make their children sleep on their stomachs.
The Prophet SAWS (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to sleep on his right side, putting his right hand on his right cheek, and this is what the Prophet SAWS (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) recommended others to do.
Islam9 Habits Of The Prophet That Science Later Proved by Aliyuminna(op): 9:16am On Feb 16, 2018
Early Riser
Prophet Muhammad slept early and woke up with the Adhan of Fajr each day. Being an early riser has scientifically been correlated with better productivity, as well as better mental health in general.

So, waking up early may be hard but with baby steps, even if it’s just waking up 15 minutes earlier to start with, you can begin improving your quality of life.

Eating Less
The practice of eating less to prevent sickness and disease was emphasized by Prophet Muhammad, and now backed heavily by science much later.

The Islamic concept ‘1/3 for your food, 1/3 for your liquids, and 1/3 for your breath’ matches very closely to the Japanese ‘hara hachi bu’ concept, which means eat until you are only 80% full.

Eating Slowly
We now know that it takes our body 20 minutes to send signals to our brain that it is full. Slow eating will help you eat less food and improve your digestion, and it is a practice Muhammad did himself and strongly advocated.

Mindful Eating
Eat together and not separately, for the blessing is associated with the company. (Ibn Majah)

The prophet stressed this, and today sharing and enjoying food has been proven to reduce stress, and build healthy eating habits within family and children.

Water
‘Do not drink water in one breath, but drink it in two or three breaths’, is the manner by which Muhammad (peace be upon him) drank water.

Science today proves that when a person drinks too much water in a short period of time they can experience headaches, imbalance in blood electrolyte levels and sometimes dizziness too.

Drinking slowly helps you actually absorb the fluid and get the most benefit out of it.

Pomegranates
Pomegranates are thought to have been the Prophet’s favorite fruit, and modern scientific research has proven pomegranates to be one of the healthiest foods on the planet.

They contain manganese, which helps in the formation of bone structures during the metabolic process, and potassium, which aids in maintaining cellular function and keeps a balance in fluid levels. Also, they are potent in flavonoids and polyphenols, antioxidants which protect our bodies against heart disease.

Fasting
Recent evidence is showing that not just the food we eat, but our eating timings and patterns also have a profound impact on our health.

Fasting was a regular practice of Muhammad’s (PBUH) life, not just during Ramadan. He would fast until Maghrib every Monday and Thursday, and also on the 13th, 14th and 15th of each month.

This is similar to the intermittent fasting practice, which has been proven to balance hormone levels, prevent oxidative stress, and reduce overall inflammation.

When you think about it, the less food you put into your body the less it focuses on digestion and the more it can focus on healing itself from certain ailments!

Dates
Dates are the perfect foods to break your fast as they stabilize your blood sugar levels, rebalance blood electrolyte levels, and help kick start your digestive system in preparation for food.

Prophet Muhammad also recommended dates to be eaten in the lead up to childbirth.

Dates are now proven to boost oxytocin production in your body and speed up labor.

Staying Active
Fulfilling three of the five pillars of Islam requires that Muslims be of sound health and fitness. Prayer in itself is a form of exercise that requires movement of your body’s muscles and joints. Good health is also necessary if you intend to fast or participate in Hajj.

Prophet Muhammad strongly encouraged physical exercise and told parents to encourage physical activity in their children too by ‘teaching them swimming, horse riding, and archery’.

Have you ever been to the north or know anyone that actually live there or been there?
IslamDid Muhammad Spread Islam By The Sword? by Aliyuminna(op): 8:02am On Dec 22, 2017
It is a widespread belief that Islam was spread by the sword.
There are two main reasons showing that this was in fact not the case.
First, the Messenger of Mercy, Prophet Muhammad, proclaimed that he would adhere to God’s commandments.
And contrary to forcing people to accept Islam, God explicitly prohibited forced conversion:
"There is no compulsion in faith (Quran 2:256)"
There is an interesting story related to the revelation of this verse.
A man, who was among the companions of the Prophet, had two sons who embraced Christianity before the emergence of the religion of Islam.
The two sons came to Medina among a group of Christians, and at that time their father insisted that they both should become Muslims.
However, they refused their father’s request and brought the matter before the Prophet.
The father asked, “Oh Prophet of Allah, how could part of me enter hell while I am watching?”
It was then that God revealed the above verse forbidding any compulsion in religion.
Thus, the man’s two sons were free to remain Christians.
The Messenger of Mercy did not force them to become Muslims according to their father’s wish.
In another verse, the Quran says:
"But had your Lord so willed, all who are on the earth would have believed in your message, each one of them and all of them together – will you then be the one to compel people so that they become believers, O Prophet? (Quran 10:99)"
Yes, He Was Worried About The Souls of His People
It is true that the Prophet was extremely keen to convey God’s message and to lead people to salvation.
The Quran describes this eagerness:
"Would you, perhaps, torment yourself to death with grief over them if they are not willing to believe in this message?
(Quran 18:6)"
But this eagerness never prompted him to convert even a single person against his will.
Second, there is no historical evidence suggesting that the Prophet Muhammad acted contrary to the principle that there should be no compulsion in religion.
There is not a single recorded instance in the Prophet’s thoroughly documented life of such an incident.

Islam Spread By Word-of-mouth

History, logic, objectivity, and scholarly research all reject the notion that the Prophet Muhammad forced his religion on unwilling masses.
It was voluntary acceptance and the utter conviction of the truth of Islam that caused mass conversions in many countries.
We can see a glimpse of this today in Europe and North America where in those continents Islam is the fastest growing religion.

IslamSignificance Of Jerusalem And Al-aqsa Mosque by Aliyuminna(op): 10:11am On Dec 08, 2017
The significance of Jerusalem is that it is the city of many Prophets of Allah as Makkah is the city of Prophets Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma`il (Ishmael) and Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon all of them).
The status of Al-Aqsa is clearly explained in the hadith that reads: “People are not to travel except to three mosques: The Sacred Mosque (in Makkah), Al-Aqsa Mosque (in Jerusalem ), and my Mosque (in Madinah).” (Muslim)
The Mosque of Al-Aqsa is one of the ancient mosques and in the Qur’an Allah called it and its land “the blessed surroundings” (Surat Al-Israa’: 1).
When Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was in Makkah and also for about 17 months after his Hijrah to Madinah, he and his followers used to pray towards the direction of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
This was to establish in the minds of Muslims the link between the teachings of Prophet Muhammad and other Prophets of Allah (peace and blessings be upon them all).
When this principle was established in their minds then Allah ordered Muslims to turn to the Ka`bah and pray towards its direction.
Now, we are not allowed to pray to the direction of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque, but we must respect and honor the city of Jerusalem and its blessed mosque. It is also the duty of all Muslims to guard and protect this mosque from any harm and damage, for the mosque belongs to those who believe in all the prophets and messengers of Allah.
Almighty Allah knows best.
