I must say that I am a little bit surprised that this kind of comment is coming from you. Yes it is true that OBJ's tenure was much better than that of GEJ. But don't forget that the old wicked man OBJ planned it that way angry. The old thief imposed on Nigerians a sick man who was too weak to govern (Yaradua) and a clueless weak puppet (GEJ) as vice, who was undisputedly the weakest governor in the South South which the position of VP was zoned to. In the north and SS there were a lot of competent and able people who could have occupied this positions and transformed Nigeria for the better such as Donald Duke. But OBJ was not ready to let that happen so that Nigerians would not be able to compare their performance with his and find out what a terrible president he was. Now he is opening his mouth to criticise. He should STFU nobody needs his criticism. We are stuck with the present administration thanks to him and his abuse of the kind of power he held as at that time. He is not a patriot but a selfish, greedy narcissistic wicked old man who has sold the future of the generation that came after him. I believe I speak for many when I say OBJ should do Nigerians a favour and stay away from choosing our next set of leaders 2015. He should keep his critisism to himself I personally don't want to hear.
My brother, Yaradua was the best I repeat the BEST candidate and PDP flag-bearer as of 2007. In the north, the only people that was in real competition with him was Atiku (PDP primaries) and there was no way Atiku would have won the election even he he won Yaradua in the primaries. Also we had likes of Odili from the SS who was in the race and look at Odili now, he is in prison in the UK like a common thief.

Yaradua and GEJ combo was at first loved by Nigerians because we wanted change since we have been accustom to an autocratic style of government. Yes Yaradua stopped Militancy with wisdom and BH was no where to be found even though they were present. Yaradua passed on, due to lack of calculative focus on the our northern leaders, sentiment grew and GEJ became the president.

2011 the election year, GEJ had ruled for 2 years with no change. Some of us Nigerians knew this man was not ready to rule and decided to go for either, Pat, Buhari or Ribadu. Now here was our mistake, we allowed some of our brothers and sisters to lie and use bigotry to blind us. GEJ won again, the country is now ungovernable, not even by BH but by kidnappers, criminals in government, militants in our security schemes etc.

You cannot blame this on OBJ. Who would have seen this coming ? The recent air-accident that killed Kaduna gov and Azazi was no accident but must have been planned by some people. THAT IS A FACT !

You see the trend again. Now 2015 is coming, some people are already shouting Northern president, Southern president very few would say Nigerian president. Well 2015 is coming again, I would urge Nigerians to vote based on competency not sentiments like Beaf ( a nairalander ) used on majority of you.

k2039: Can't you critisize a post objectively, what ever I wrote had a basis for my assumption, but what you wrote here is pointless and senseless. What that means is that you wrote nothing, certainly, we know who the gaothead is from your post.

Besides thesame OBJ with a Valuable stupidity as you said is part of the reason why GEJ became president, so he should take the bulk of the blame since GEJ's presidency was his own doing(doing in the sense that OBJ was a great influence in his ascension to presidency).
Very true my brother. Now that GEJ is the president and OBJ is out of the picture, GEJ should know that it is no longer OBJ that is in control but him. I might be wrong with the way I am thinking but I believe an elected president either through godfatherism or favour from the public should exercise his power to find solutions to the problems of the country.

PapaBrowne: I have also come to this realization Alhaji. But I think more than just Ministers and Governors, the civil service and the Local Governments have to have the right attitude. Anytime I'm in Lagos I always wonder that with all Fashola is said to have done, much of Lagos still holds some of the most horrid human abodes on the face of the planet. These places will experience change only when those directly responsible actually implement their tasks.
LOL Lagos issue sha. Fashola is really trying probably because he is a real lagosian. The issue here is ACN trying to paint Fashola as a superhero thus likes of you would expect magic from him. BTW Tiunbu/ACN is the problem of Lagos not Fashola
PoliticsRe: Africa's Rising Stars: Five Countries To Watch by aljharem(m): 10:59am On Dec 16, 2012
Prof Corruption: lol. Alhaji, I don't agree with you. A president can change Nigeria. A competent leader will easily fire a corrupt minister, will easily recognise and appoint competent cabinet ministers. You don't blame ministers when the powers of hire and fire rest with the president.
Oga, it is not that easy. If you fire them, who are you going to use to replace them ? The same public or your old friends who are probably corrupt and hungry as well. It all starts from the grass root

How can you say this ? Abacha never looted ? Ok the money in swiss bank, who is the owner or who kept the money there in Abacha's name.

templeinyou: 1. OBJ WAS ABLE B/C MILITANTS WE KNOW THEY WERE IN THE CREEKS, NOW WHERE ARE THE BH, THEY ARE AMONG THEIR PPL.
WILL U USE THAT OBJS MEYHOD TO FINISH ALL MEDUGIRIANS. TELL ME

2. OBJ WAS MORE OF AUTORCRATIC.

3. GEJ. ONFOLD OIL CABALS.
I love your comment but I DEAL WITH FACTS HERE NOT SENTIMENTS my brother.

1. Every situation deserves different approaches. Our president in his briefing told us (Nigerians) that BH is part of his government. That alone is a security statement. The solution to Boko haram is simple but MR GEJ would not be decisive with his decision. You see BH knows this Government is not a serious one and that is why they continue bombing and killing.

2. Yes he is, but is that not what we need in this country full of lunatics.

3. LOL how many have been persecuted or are in jail. NONE !!!
OBJ should shut the fuk up, he is the most corrupt Nigerian president alive, and he is by far the most greedy and ugliest president to rule Africa.
Ugly people are always wicked, mean and heartless. In developed lands OBJ should be cooling off in prison by now. This is a bastardd that stole 16 billion dollars in the name of IPP without generating a single kilo of electricity.
Lets compare the first 4 years of OBJ to the first four years of GEJ

1. OBJ dealt with Militancy while GEJ is still confused on what to do with BH

2. OBJ IS A LEADER, FIRM AND STRAIGHT FORWARD IN MAKING DECISIONS, WHILE Gej appears to be very confuse.

3. OBJ GSM, GEJ NOTHING

In as much as OBJ is a thief, I would still prefer OBJ to GEJ by far

bigass: I don't care whether the post is true or not but I support this. Let anarchy reign. Then fashola will know people are not smiling. How can you ban okada in a place like Lagos. They pride themselves as having a population of 18million
But not ready to provide infrastructure to support the huge population.
LOL you have to agree that your statement is very nonsensical. Okada should and will be stopped in Lagos. I don't know how some of you reason at times. Criminals use Okada to robber people, Okada riders have killed a lot of Lagosians and any other means of transportation, the list is endless.

The current BRT and likes of eko rail should do the trick. Moreover Keke Napep still dey there my brother. Okada is not sustainable.

Fashola is a real Lagosian unlike, your likes and Tinubu that can easly run back to una village when the city has failed.

Prof Corruption: Every region plays tribal politics and there is nothing, in absolute terms, that is wrong with that. Politics is all about gang up, fighting and protecting interests. Ethnicity will not even affect our politics if political platforms have irreducible minimum that makes it difficult for mediocre to emerge. I voted for Ribadu. He's a political neophyte but has a track record of performance that can not just evaporate. I believed then and still hold that believe that Buhari has nothing to offer this country.
My brother, you know after having a deep think about all this issues facing Nigeria. I have come to realise that it is not really the "President" that can change this country but his subordinates ie ministers, governors etc.

The president is just one man that gives his veto but the people implementing it are the problem. Therefore even if likes of Ribadu, Buhari, Fashola, GEJ, etc all have their turns, the country would not really change until the people under them change.

stillwater: Why on earth would Sanusi Lamido make a comment like this if indeed the issue has finally been laid to rest.

At least the Germans had their own country and could decide their own fate. . .

This is the same mentality that has killed Nigerian intellect. The refusal to take on our history. I am talking about stating facts not sentimental rubbish from participants of the war and it's adherent followers. So you are saying it is impossible to have a mature and critical discourse, come to a consensus on the civil war without being overly sentimental? Are Nigerians babies?
Sanusi says too much rubbish that I can no longer follow. Is it not the same man that said Yorubas as a people are the problem of a whole country. How can Nigerians take such a man serious.

I personally don't take sanusi accession of the civil war worth thinking about. We have had different people, groups, militant etc scream the same thing. What valuable solution can they give, nothing ! because there is no problem at the first place. It is if there is a problem, people would think of a solution.

stillwater: When has the civil war been addressed by the FG? Was there ever a healing process? Everyone just went about as if nothing happened. Obviously you can see it's not working. In schools what you hear about the civil war was in 1967, Nigeria had a civil war and it stops there unless you're a history major. Countless books with different opinions is the reason why most of you pander halftruths and try to kill yourself on NL, quoting and citing numerous sources, choosing to believe whatever suits your arguement.
Are you serious ? Are you sure the FG has not addressed the war ? Are you sure there was never a healing process in place of which many wealthy Igbo took advantage of ?

What happened to the billions of Niara Gowon and Awolowo used for the three R's ? What happened to the properties reclaimed back in the western region and part of the north ? Let me remind you that no loser in a war gets anything, go ask the Germans.

Do you expect parents of even school teacher to be teaching students and pupils of a war like that of biafra ? So what exactly should we teach them ? May be if we say " the overly ambitious Ojukwu the leader of the eastern region lead ignorant followers to their death " Now likes of Achebe would come again and tell us how Nigerian government are trying to paint Ndigbo and Ojukwu black

Or may be we should lie against ourselves and paint Ndigbo good and Nigerians bad by saying " The Igbos wanted to leave the nation in peace without land grabbing and expansionism but the Nigerian Army knew they cannot survivie with the Igbos and thus started killing Igbos " Now what lesson would that teach our students because history is there for us to learn from.

I would like to learn from you.

Zanbitor sometimes called zangoto- More like kuvitor but a lower subordinate

Zunmevodun- comes out at night usually exactly like what we yorubas call Oro but rather than kill the person when found out at night,, the person gets beaten. (Kalita)

Legba - This is the most dangerous, more like we yorubas and edos call Ayinlala. Once the orisha or vondun has given the permission. No thief can steal once the incantation and lines have been drawn at the place where the robbers came. Unless the robbers confess, then they are likely to die.

Vondun - More like Ifa

Ma'ahu - Olodumare, God

That is all I know for now

Pagan

All the pictures you are showing are what we Ogus ((Ewe) although we are yorubas now) call kuvitor vondun (vodoo).

Yes they are pagans. Now Kuvitor is what Yorubas call Egun aka Maskurades.

You get more of this, come to Lagos and I can take you to some parts of Badagry and Cotouno. You would need a translator when talking to them.

E-mail me if you are interested to document it.

"Moving forward is the only way forward".
However, my brethren from the east would not.
The most surprising thing is that their so-called "educated" behaves more foolishly than the already-tagged "Illiterates" among them.
How will Achebe wait for 45 years in his literary life without leading his people to seek justice from ICJ/ICC?
Instead, they keep bothering the rest of Nigerians everyday with same old stories.
ACHEBE KNOWS THEY HAVE NO CASE TO PURSUE. THAT IS WHY THEY ALL WANT TO KEEP FABRICATING STORIES TO THEIR UNBORN CHILDREN.

Kindly read this.

Zet72: who is ur neighbour explain
The Igbos in this case. I still find it hard to believe why they blame ONLY YORUBAS for the war a man Ojukwu caused which the Igbos forefathers chose to follow.

Igbos only true friend in Nigeria are the so called Yorubas they insult the most. Yoruba leaders and the people love Igbos but I hope this open arms to the Igbos would not be turned animosity in the western cities. Ask other groups in Nigeria how they do it and they would explain.

Right now the so called cowards or Yoruba as you call them are still trying to draw Igbos closer. Please I would use to medium to appeal to all Igbo leaders and elders to becareful with their utterances, they should not let a 50 years relationship die just because of their stu.pidity and childish acts of both them and their forefathers that support a man's ambition rather than Igbos ambition.

The current political structure aka (zones) has given every group the ability ot further advance their people irrespective of the Federal republic of Nigeria. So by all mean if the current new generation of Igbos still want biafra (5th novermber has passed yet nothing) then by all means they can go and if not, they can stay and SHUT UP ABOUT THIS WAR ISSUE. In reality, Nigerians especially your true friends and allies Yorubas are tired of this crap. We have not moved forwarded since this man ojukwu was a leader. We are forward thinkers and would like to drop the past and move on.

Fulanis are not a lot in Nigeria and in a day 2000 thousand were killed in Ogbomoso not to talk of Oshogo etc. I don't see them crying like this. Even the Jews that millions were killed in eastern europe and Germany, they are not crying like the Igbos are doing.

Correct sir. Majority of us have moved on because we are forward thinking people and believe we are one and the same people but when an elderly statesman like Achebe could be so myopic and childish to open such wounds, it is just a great reminder to us how our so called neighbour harbour hate for us.
