Abagworo: The problem with some Nigerians is that they are stuck to their local enclave. That there are more Igbos in Kano than Ibadan or Calabar does not make Kano more accomodating. The North hosts more non-indigenes than any other part of Nigeria inspite of the frequent killings and high poverty. The SE is too competitive for even the indigenes as a result of over-population and excess skilled manpower.Hmmmmmm, stuck to their local enclave ? What do you mean There are more Yorubas in the north than Igbos, again quote me on this. You cannot tell the difference between a yoruba muslim and an average fulani. Infact there is a place called Ogbomosho in Kaduna, it is that bad. Not every yoruba has tribal marks. I hope you know that ? Even Borno governor has yorubas in his family, Just cause Yorubas usually avoid the east does not mean they do not travel. I for one know what I am saying, The amount of Igbos in Oyo and Kwara state would soon rival lagos. Even if you have not been to Oyo before, the MGP beauty stuff should tell you the representation and size. |
lol ![]() |
Dede1: Are you insinuating the accommodating mode of Yoruba people is due to magnanimity and that of Asokoro’s cowardice? Not at all, please don't misquote me Agbaya Dede. I am saying Asokoro people don't have much to lose that is what I am saying |
cogitoErgo: @aljharem, na sister o, no bi brother!LOOL No be me talk am o !!! |
Funny right? If I ask you to back the bolded up hope you wont disappear again. Anyway, I'm not sure I have time for a fruitless venture this morning, I'll only say this little - when Boko Haram finally goes down I wont be shocked at the sect's complete ethnic representantion. I've braced and consoled myself on the possibility of a minor chunk of BK being from the East (some indoctrinated wahabi wanna bes). My plea to FG is that when all is over - please lock all BK, seal off the prison, and throw away the keys.
LOL ![]() |
Gbawe: My brother this was always my point about the inobjective hatred of the O-m.ro.ons and ethnic bigots here. So keen to discredit what Osun announced they all actually swallowed Wesley80's deception , the ultimate O-haters, to begin saying Osun is spending 300 on 15kw SHP when it has now being established that the 15KW SHP is a pilot scheme, concieved in 2007, with nothing to do with Aregbesola . commonsense shows that no one objective would have derailed the thead with the hateful and crassly deceptive negativity some have shown here.LOL @ O-m.ro.ons and O-hater ![]() ofcourse you know they are just pulling your leg Oga Gbawe ![]() |
Mimifonwon I was thinking how you were able to know the percentages of the ethnicity you were ? I mean, assuming most Nigerian came from the same geographical space, the genes would be similar and the only difference in ethnic groups in Nigeria are the culture and food. If we see someone who is light skin, we are quick to call the person Igbo or Fulani. I have seen some very light skin Yoruba, Ijaw, Ibibio and co If we see someone very dark we are quick to call the persoN Hausa, Kanuri or even Yoruba, but I have seen some pretty dark skin Igbos and fulani So I was wondering how you were able to decipher the percentages of your ethnicity. Thanks |
Are you people still on this thread ? Let them finish the project first before we castigate them. |
LOL the poster is Neither "Yorubas" nor "Awusa" |
we dont need to wait for any breakup. The mass exodus of ibos from Yorubaland can start anytime but the issue is that are ibos willing to live our land and where are they going back to ?
Don't talk like that, always try to separate Nairaland from the reality. |
Dede1: Most of these ass-wipes seemed to constantly get intoxicated on emptiness and vanity. The people who are native to Abuja probably seemed not accommodating if one has to follow the goofy illogicalities demonstrated by dubious writer named Sam Omatseye in the alleged article accredited to him.Abuja indigenes are Asokoro people, they are a very tiny group of people living in the hills of aso rock, Thus it is very easy to bully them as the case of Babangida. |
^^^I doubt that. The Jos people to a large extent are hostile.I would have accepted this view in the past but not now abeg.It also depends on which tribe or locality. Please don't say they were changed or are fighting for there rights. That is the tale given to allow ethnic cleanse in Jos by the inhabitants. The Ijaws are not hospitable or polite at all. They are naturally aggressive and it won't take long for you to spot an Ijawman by that. Also they are not receptive.Inshort another tribe similar to there aggressiveness is the Fulani.Thought the Fulanis are quiet contrary to the IJaws, they are readily aggressive too.
Jos people use to be the best people I had always wanted to associate myself with, even till now. I think the issue of indigenes and settlers took a new dimension in Jos. My brother, anyone would do the same if faced with "strangers" over lording them in "their land". I think if we use that standard, Yorubas are not any better than Jos indigenes as well. The issue with the Ijaws is of resent times, I have met a lot of Ijaws in Lagos and I know them to be smiling always. More like I have never seen before, very friendly people and level headed. Asari Dokubo couple with his Igbo goons here on Nairaland are painting a totally different picture of Ijaw people. The first ever fight Ijaws had in recent times was in lagos and was because of Asari Dokubo plan. Although I do not expect better since he said he is 40% Igbo and 60% Ijaw. |
Abagworo: Guy you are so damn funny. Ibadan is a big village. Maybe you could tell that to someone that has not been there. Port Harcourt is as diverse as Lagos and Abuja but has more White men. I don't think there are up to 5000 caucasians in Ibadan. My brother diversity in terms of Nigeria ethnic groups that is what I meant. We can use your standards as well, Port harcourt has bonny Island which could be said to be the Oil capital of Nigeria. Even at that, Ibadan in terms of Nigeria ethnic groups is far more diverse than Port harcourt. Quote me anywhere |
congrats ![]() |
gegee: All these hypocritical talk of not following the colonialists ok na.make una no wear shirt and tie again the suite una dey wear sey na yoruba dress na una ancestors invent motor abi.make we stop to follow colonialists and be runnin around in our loin cloth.rubbish!!!!!What has yoruba got to do with this ![]() Moreover shirt etc is not doubted by the HUMAN RACE, Wig and gown are not !!! |
So Lawyers want to tell us at out of all the tailors and designers in the country, there is no one that can come up with a design to show the prestige of the law profession ? Rather it is a white wig on a black man ![]() |
deandavid: go ask our fashion designers, so we cnt get a creative mind out of 160million pple? If possible, we cn do d ankara style as u suggested, but lets do our own thing.sheesh....Gbammm tell them as it is !!! |
Johndoe100: As soon as I heard about the Yoruba boko haram, I knew that Aregbesola must be involved.it would not surprise me to learn that he sponsored the Yoruba terrorist. Yaribas what can you do about them? He wants the north to notice hin . ![]() This got me cracking ![]() |
I have already said that Boko haram is NOT a northern problem alone but the entire country. Now It does not come as a surprise to me. Although I am still shocked the way Igbos people on this forum lie a lot and do false propaganda Imagine someone saying "Yorubas plot to destablise the north" Another saying "Yorubas formed Boko haram" For what propose I ask ? Chai !!!! Yorubas get enemies o ! Even funny is " SOE in the SW" LOL ![]() |
BTW How many years was Calabar the capital for ? |
Abagworo: Lagos cannot be used as a yardstick to measure how accomodating Yorubas are. Ibadan, Ilesha, Abeokuta, Oshogbo, Ogbomosho, Ife, Ado, Ede etc should be used instead. The cosmopolitan nature of Lagos owes a lot to its years as the capital. Look at Abuja today, It is almost more cosmopolitan than Lagos in less than 14 years and there are no area boys extorting people or claiming landed properties. That does not translate into Northerners being more accommodating. Shift the capital to Yenagoa and within 10 years it will also outgrow Abuja in mix of tribes, ethnicity and racesI would prefer to us Ibadan and Abeokuta. Even if we use it, we would still arrive at the same conclusion, so what is your point ? Ibadan is more multiethnic than Port harcourt, do you doubt me ? should we go to Illorin ? |
bashr8: show u the proof of accomodation in yoruba states of osun , ondo , ekiti and ogun. outside lagos that is federal capital .Lagos is not the federal capital, it is not even any capital. The reason it is a defacto commericial capital is because Private companies chose to have their HQ in Lagos. In the real sense there is not constitution that allows Lagos the commercial capital but because of the accommodation nature to a fault companies chose Lagos over Abuja and others. Moreover their is no different between Lagos, Osun , Ondo etc It is all called West and are all Yoruba-speaking states. |
emmke: quite true...Jos indigenes are not bad themselves. Also the Ijaws |
Odenigbo Aroli: Odenigbo Aroli=Nri Priest.Ok Nri, I see your point. I guess it is different perspective. |
jambogini: Am so much happy to see this innovation, i hope one day the ibos wold emulate such carnival to the south east, it is very fresh and unique and attractive. I love lagosians although am ibo. More grease to ur elbowWe love you too, whether Ibo or anyone, we are all lagosians. ![]() |
deandavid: my guy u too talk jor, the argument is, that wig in d first place is foreign to africa, keeping it till now is like an act being inferior, but since others have started dropping it, i dnt suggest we do same, dat ll even prove we r more like robot or follow follow. So i ll sugest,we rather africalize it, bring a bit of african or nigerian concept or culture in2 d attire. Bt mr lawyer u r sounding like 1 of those guys that choose to study law,cos of d dressing and the so called "prestige". My learnd friend, nigeria legal system is a failure, ther isn't any prestige.thank you |
I love the Ijaw culture, very nice. ![]() God bless the Ijaw Nation God bless Nigeria |
mimifonwon: Thanks alj-harem, thanks for not taking offense to my reply. And the professor teaches at Northwestern university in evanston,il. Anyways thanks for the video, and yes i concur on your thoughts about all of us being mixed up tribally. Because we come from a patriarchal community we rep our father's people, and the mother's people dont count. My granddad married from yoruba to calabar, and all his children are said to be igbo because his igbo, only recently do people add their mother's ethnicity when referring to themselves. But yeah thanks alot.No problem my sister ![]() |
