jason12345: okay, that is the misunderstanding!
i do not want ibb or atiku to be supported! never. i want igbos to know what is about happening to the with the so called endorsement (with all due respect to ohanaeze). i do not want igbos to feel cheated in the aftermath of their support. i do not want them to feel marginalised.
thats all, but i can see you many igbo sons on this forum refuse to think about it, only a few have given it a thought (chinenyeN, agbaworo*,mikeasy*etc). i am know it is non of my business but i really care about igbos.
pls, do not complain about marginalisation again in nigeria if this chance is lost. case closed
thank you. what case is close why do u love igbo and yorubas so much and dislike itsekiri |
Politics › Re: Jonathan Slams Atiku On Facebook by aljharem(m): 3:34am On Nov 26, 2010 |
mikeansy: I am sorry but once again Jonathan Goodluck has mispoken.
The primary loyalty of any public servant is loyalty to country and it's constitution. To the extent that you and your boss both share this loyalty to country then you have a duty to remain loyal to your boss. However if your boss becomes disloyal to the country and its laws you have a duty to call your boss to order because you swore an oath to defend the country, its interests and its constitution.
If Atiku honestly believed that OBJ was pursuing 3rd term agenda which at the time was against the laws of the land and the aspirations of the Nigerian people he had a duty to speak up.
Jonathan also had a duty to take responsibilities when Yar'adua was practically kidnapped by his own wife, his misguided definition and understanding of loyalty plunged this country into a leadership crisis and power vacuum untill the NASS invented the doctrine of Necessity.
I am sorry to say it but the Presidency is not a secret cult. Loyal is first to country and its constitution. If about 9 months after taking an oath of office Jonathan has forgotten the contents of his oath he should go back and read.
His position on this issue is dumb and smacks of desperation. kudousssss!!!!! u are blessed brother, God has given u wisdom this is what beaf seems to not see he is doing it like it is a favour or something he is desperate |

rig 2011 and die Beaf: He is already President.
Unfortunately, he took the mantle of office just a few months to a general election and everyone knows that elections are the most distracting engagements for political office holders.
Wait until he gets a full term mandate with no clowns buzzing around about zoning, North vs South etc. |

Beaf: I don't see your grouse with facebook except you are a bit old fashioned.
GEJ's FB presence is a great example of how he reaches out and cares for the common man. He is lauded all over the World for it (but we know what they say about prophets in their own homes). If GEJ's taking up of a facebook account was in poor taste, why is it that every single one of his opponents rushed to get their own facebook accounts?
You might understand best what you mean by "decorum," because your use of the word in the context of this thread really makes absolutely no sense. Facebook is a social tool to speak one on one with people and GEJ is the first African President to do so. That is an incredible pride. |

DapoBear: These Fulani are quite impressive, I must say. Imagine, bending an entire other ethnic group (the Hausa), and a region of the country (the North) to your will.
Almost every time a "Northern" candidate is selected, it is a Fulani man. Yet the Northerners never complain that for some reason, only Fulani are fit to lead them. Quite amazing. that is the reason we call ourselves one north, not am i kanuri, i am hausa, i am fulani no that way there will be less conflict unlike southerners that ikwerri, ogoni, wtc this small group are just jokers |

marcdunu: It is time to cut the crap.
Let Atiku and Jonathan defend their records on National TV face-to-face.
Atiku should fire the first salvo and challenge the President and lets how the President responds.
It is time to have this two men challenge each others economics, security, energy and foreign policy.
No more dishing out press statements through Ima Niboro and Garba Shehu. Let all who call themselves credible come out and tell us how they have been running the country.
No more taking newpaper articles to talk policies. Lets see you live on TV.
Anybody who shy away from the debate is not qualified to lead 2011 Nigeria. i totally agree but would they do the debate |

Onlytruth: So the Northern Political Leaders Forum is manipulating and abusing their position for their own (selfish) interest, right? They are not working for the north, right?
Ciroma is on his own, right? Why should Ciroma who is HAUSA decide the political fate of IBB who is GWARI, or Atiku who is FULANI? Are the four northern candidates from one geopolitical zone? If the answer is no, why do you think that they should accept Ciroma committees consensus arrangement? Why do you welcome that, but proceed to develop headache over Igbo agreement with Ijaw?
I would not speak for other Igbos but I would speak for myself. It is INSULTING for you to keep thinking that ONLY your northern section of Nigeria can speak with one voice without anyone questioning your motive and with you turning a blind welcoming eye.
Why do you think they Ndigbo are not politically intelligent enough to understand the value of numbers and group efforts?
Why do you insist on this insult? onlytruth, onlytruth, onlytruthhhh, onlylies my brother, no one is insulting the ndigbo we northerners call ourselves one because of 1.) the religion that binds us together 2.) must of us speak hausa as a second language so that brings a sense unite and common interest 3.) ciroma does not speak and will never speak for us northerners i tell u, he only talks in pdp that's it,,,,,remember he said he was going to match 1million or so northerners to abuja,,,,,,,,,people did not support him on that 4.)some of us northerners have drop our culture to embrace 1 unify culture and belief. u southerners are NOT like that, u people never stick to ur words igbos and yorubas were united before but after the war igbos became jealous of their neighbour or brothers that have been so nice to them, and did all they can to insult there brother eg ijaws onlytruth, u are a very funny man i must tell u hopefully one day we can meet like brother and dine together because u are always my blood brother |

Ohanaeze had a worldwide consultation of Ndigbo before reaching out at a conclusion. i do not think he is a noise maker, i think he really cares for his people like abagworo, jason, dapo, mikensy, chinenyeN and co listen to this people when they give u word of advice, they are obviously very clever and think before they talk in hausa there is a saying Ya ji ya ji (he who has ears let him hear) well i have said my 2 cents |

the position of the masses of igbos is clear( the sense-able ones) that ohaneze has sold the birth right of igbos to the highest bidder
how can a this group say they represent the an igbo man or woman when they have not put their interest first before the interest of their pockets,,,,,,,,,,,,,how
all i have to say is that some igbo leaders are just manipulating and abusing there position for there interest
hopefully they can learn from this man that speak and protect the interest of the igbo people first before the interest of the ijaw or any other group in nigeria |

Politics › Re: The 1978 Nigerian Land Use Act by aljharem(m): 5:28am On Nov 24, 2010 |
Omenani: There is a clear distinction on who owns the land. If your forefathers were on that land, even before the presence of oil was even known, then it should be declared your land. Oil is not everything. Each region needs to develop their own comparative advantage. One industry that needs to be focused on in Nigeria is our agricultural industry. Currently, 80% of Nigeria's GDP is derived from selling oil. Such an over reliance on oil is quite damaging. We have nothing to show for this reliance on oil either. it is very damaging , u are right but, the agricultural sector in nigeria can only work well(large scale farming) in the north because of the large expanse of land and fewer people are in the north(not kano or sokoto) but the south has a high population density and smaller expanse of land. all this odds are against us because even in the north, only certain type of crops can be grown there eg example of a cash crop that cannot be grown in the north cocoa plant,,,,,,tobacco plant etc but only if we can educate the people both in the north and south to work together in perfect harmony can we achieve agricultural standard up to brazil and co i think we should find a way of producing more megawatt of electricity and selling it to neighbouring countries as a form of export to africa,,,,,,,,,i think that would make us more money also, we can be renting skilled labourers like what the british do but it would be in africa at competitive prices (population of nigeria) |
