beaf and sapeleguy
to be honest, i have always supported south-south
but this geo-political zone of niger/delta was part of the benin kingdom
this zone does not exist to stand on there own, it is for the igbos in the real sense
ondo and delta are for the yorubas
before the war, igbos were the majority of ppl living there and ruled as a regional leader
before the oil was found sapele and warri were part of the yoruba kingdom and are still are
crossriver etc were igbos, so why are u trying to create and identity that does not exist
just like middlebelt ppl are doing but theres is understandable
do not deceive urself to think "if" nigeria split u would not split with it
the igbos would take there part of the nigerdelta and the yoruba edo would do the same, the middlebelt are the only ones that can choose to be were they want to be
so please my brothers do not decieve urselves to think u have a zone in nigeria
it was just done by obj to decieve u ppl that u have a geo-political zone which is a lie
the sooner u u and the igbos that talking on how to be one the better
ikerri and ika and co are just decieving them selves |

excanny: I'm not fan of this supposedly 'southern unity' against the North. This is a false and non-existent concept. Let's stop pretending we are one.
No one should drag Ndigbo into this falsehood. The fact remains that Igbos don't give a rat's a.rse who rules Nigeria as long as he has the best programmes for us as a people. If the North floors Jonathan, fine. If Jonathan can pull it through, that will be equally great. We just dont care.
We will form alliances only with those who have dealt with us in honesty in the past and will not allow ourselves to be put into a fight that is none of our business. excanny that why i like igbo, they are with us why should we split from our brothers in the south east and south west |

[quote author=jason12345 link=topic=546258.msg7087138#msg7087138 date=128899133 In Nigeria, the minorities of the South-South and Middle Belt suffer the fate of Black Americans. It is on the backs of these peoples, and their mineral resources (be it oil, mineral deposits, oil palm or rubber) that both the pre-colonial and post-colonial Nigeria were built. In it all, they were pilloried and assaulted by the rest of the nation. The psychological impact of being a minority in Nigeria can be shattering. The sense or the lack thereof belonging can be conflicting; this is especially true when Nigerian minority groups have no option but to seek the safety of a negotiated federation no matter how unfair when contrasted with the guaranteed oppression from their big three neighbours (Hausa/Fulani, Yoruba and Igbo ijaw/itsekiri) or the legacy of divide and rule which was orchestrated to break the ranks of the minority groups. why do people call south-south minority nigeria enemies are the yoruba and igbo[/quote] |

EzeUche0: The Niger Delta has always existed even before man arrived on this planet. The Niger Delta is where the mouth of the Niger River meets the Atlantic ocean. Do you understand that?
That is the the true Niger Delta. Only the Ijaw, Itsekiri, Ukwuani (Igbo), Isoko and Urhobo can claim the Niger Delta. no, no, no ezeuche u have eye problem

Gone are the days when we really cared about your damn food and besides you need our business so either way that your food must come down south or else you will starve to death while we quietly trade with Burklina Faso, Cameroon, or better cultivate ours. Who told you places like Ebonti state don't exist? Guy we have enough food. You are too damn poor to let your tomatoes rot so you will be the ones begging to buy and import your food. BTW the main food basket is in non-musim HAUSA, non-core-northern AREAS OF THE MIDDLEBELT and no they are not even planiing to be part of your islamic republic. do u know that groundnuts, cotton etc are produce in the core north

DapoBear: Awolowo was the greatest Yorubaman of recent memory. My father's side of the family likely would have had a much more difficult time paying for school if it hadn't been for him. His self-sacrifice and love of his people (actually, not only his own people, but all those in the Western Region and Nigeria more generally) is still yielding dividends today. Such foresight, wisdom, and intelligence. Truly a great man. In the Yoruba pantheon of heros, no one is greater. awolowo was one of the greatest aficans that ever lived he did not only care about yorubas but cared about igbos and other south groups i think he was a great man |

DapoBear: There is nothing wrong with Yoruba people moving to Yorubaland. Heck, you can be of Yoruba descent from Brazil or Cuba and move here, if you like.
And if people from the Chad Republic etc want to move to Northern Nigeria, that is OK, so long as the residents there are fine with it. Of course, the problem is that Northern Nigeria is never their final destination, they want to move to the south to beg and commit crime. We do not need any beggars, criminals and terrorists from Chad, Niger, etc in Yorubaland. Go back home. |

jason12345: no bi sickness!!! that's the way we southerners have been treating them on the internet especially the SE. what do you expect a people to do? just watch as we derogate them with insults?
you have not understood south -south are crying for!!! they also love nigeria but we cannot, i repeat cannot just depend on them for our wealth when we have untapped resources elsewhere.
also, we (north and south) cannot take destroy their environment, take their means of livelihood and expect them not to react!!! it is not possible. instead of feeling disappointed, take you time to read what they are agitating for, visit ND (if you have time) and know what is going on.
also, if it was the north that had the resources the ND has, you and i know that the north would have been agitating for separation or the conversion of every nigerian into muslim jason12345 thank u |

auwal87: Sanusi you have disappointed me.
Why should we continue to stay with those RACISTS southerners? Especially those south easterners. They know nothing but hatred, selfishness, cowardliness, and destigmatization. They say they hate us, they even die to show they hate us (civil war), they do everything to bring us down down down. They hate anything from North or Hausa or Fulani. They hate our children, they hate our women, they hate our religion, they hate everything about us. Why must we remain together? Why must we continue to use their resources on their homelands? Sanusi, I was counting on you as one of those great leaders of Arewa Republic (Hausaland), but now you have disappointed me. Sanusi, you have to change your mind, we have to save ourselves, our brothers, our children, from those devils of the south east, they simply HATE US. This is not just on the Internet, it is EVERYWHERE, you just have to understand.
Sanusi you have disappointed me. auwal87 so u too noticed in all there actions, it is only the south west that have accommodiated us and our religion, but it does not mean we should take them for grated. our northern brother keep pushing there luck that why there is always fight between the yorubas and us, but apart from that nothing else. i think the south-south ppl just want a form of resource control who would blame them, if this was done in the north, i trust my brothers would have turn this country upside down. so lets try to understand them Bari a fi saliha as for the south- east |
